Arc 2 Chapter 2: Knight Academy Selection

[City of Freidburg, Year 735 Months 5 days to 15]

“Kukkuruk! Kukkurukk!Kukkuruk!”

Luciel heard the sound of a crowing beast. He got up, picked up a piece of meat and approached a baby Griffon. The Griffon is a half-Eagle, half-lion creature that is difficult to tame if you do not know humans. 2 Years ago, Luciel discovered an egg by chance while doing a Quest with Liz. Luciel then keeps the eggs in a warm place until they hatch.

“Oke Casper, here's your food. Stop crowing.” Casper ate the meat Luciel gave him.

Luciel then looked at the clock and showed it at exactly 5 a.m. Luciel then began to prepare his Shop. An hour later, Luciel started cooking food for the two of them to have breakfast. While waiting for the finished dish, Luciel then went into Liz's room to wake her up.

“Hey knight candidate, it's time to wake up,” Luciel said.

“Emmm... In a moment..,” murmured Liz.

‘He must have been very exhausted yesterday’ thought Luciel.

“You must prepare. Wouldn't it be another hour Liz will take part in the selection of the Knight Academy,” Luciel persuaded.

“Hahhhh... I am still very sleepy,” said Liz who sat with her eyes still closed.

“Liz go shower first, I'm preparing breakfast.”

“Good.”

Luciel then returned to the kitchen and made 2 eggs with sausage, 2 stews of meat with special seasonings that have been prepared overnight and 2 apple juice. After they built the house 1 year ago, Luciel was the one who always took care of the homework. It was reasonable because at that time when Luciel was sick, Liz made a meal for him, but the food that Liz made was very bad and Liz was not at all able to do homework.

15 Minutes later, Luciel and Liz were at the dinner table having breakfast.

“Liz will start living in academy dormitory if pass selection later?” ask Luciel.

“Yes, and they forbid the students there to work outside the academy during the training period,” explained Liz.

“Liz need not worry, Liz can use my money first if indeed Liz can not make money when there,” said Luciel with a smile.

In front of the gates of the Knight Academy, there were already countless participants already waiting to enter the Knight training selection. Thousands of people had waited to cause traffic jams for the Horse-drawn carriages that wanted to pass on the road.

Within the crowd, there was a man and two women who were chatting while waiting for the start of the selection.

“Leon, do you believe you can get the best recruit position?” asked the brown-haired girl with the knight gear beside her.

“Well. He has even mastered some techniques of a knight, is not it Leon,” said the woman dressed as a priest.

“I think me and Sara will be in the top position,” said – men with black hair.

Soon, they heard the first bells of the city. The participants then stopped chatting and saw the gates of the Academy open. A middle-aged Knight was then seen walking before the participants from inside the gate carrying a box as large as a human body. He put it in front of the gate.

“ATTENTION!” shouted the Knight.

“For the participants, please take the paper in this box and go to the Arena according to the number listed on the paper you get,” said the Knight.

“Get it in an orderly manner! Otherwise, don't blame me if some of you will even be battered before the test starts!” emphatically.

The participants then started taking their numbers and headed to each – of each arena. There were 4 Arenas in the Great Eagle Knight Academy. Multi-purpose arenas, Riding Arenas, Sparring Arenas and main Arenas where annual competitions are held.

“Well Yona, Sara and I will go in first. Pray for us to get the best,” said Leon.

“Yes, both of you are spirit yes!” Yona waves her hand to Leon and Sara who are starting to enter the Academy.

Leon and Sara then went to the main Arena according to the number they got. The main arena has the largest area and can accommodate up to 50,000 people. After entering the Arena, Leon saw the 10 Knight Instructors already waiting in the Arena.

“For Participants who mentioned their numbers please go forward. You can use – techniques of any technique including Martial Magic,” said one of the instructors.

The Knight Academy recruitment selection began. Some of the participants have advanced, however, no one has been able to make one of the instructors move both feet from where he stood.

“Next! Number 60!”

“YA! I am Leon first, pray for me yes.” said Sara while running towards one of the Instructors.

“Note your name and age,” said the Instructor.

“Yes! Sara von Ardenne, age 15,” says Sarah.

Then an assistant next to the Instructor took note of it.

Her father Sara was a famous Knight Count under Marquiss Warren von Lubeck. His father had a territory on the border between the Empire and the Kingdom of Bavaria. Baron Ainulf is known as a Knight who has a large body and a terrible power. One of the most famous stories is when he killed an entire criminal syndicate in his hideout alone.

“Alright, we start the test. Go forward!” the Instructor's orders.

Sara then started to dart and slashed her greatsword towards the Instructor. However, the Instructor was able to withstand and fend off his attacks easily.

Sara then began to do Hit & Run tactics to find the weak point of the instructor prisoner.

‘I can't see the weak point.Then there's only one way’ Sara thought.

He then used Accelerate magic and darted towards the Instructor grasping his great sword using two hands and then unleashed his technique.

“Martel!”

Tang! Sara's attack was able to be held by the instructor.

“Great strength, as expected of his daughter,” said the Instructor who is now in a different position from where he previously stood.

Sara's attack can make the instructor first switch positions with both feet.

“Alright, Next!”

“But, I haven't finished instructor!” sara protest.

“For 2 minutes you can only get 1 way to fight me and it doesn't work. Believe me, the result will be the same even if we fight 2 minutes or 5 minutes longer,” explained the Instructor.

“We won't know before trying!” Sara Exclamation.

The instructor then relaxed his hands and arrived – arrived he disappeared from Sara's sight and there was a cold metal attached to Sara's neck.

“You think so, Miss?” the instructor said while sticking his sword around Sara's neck.

Sara didn't even know what was going on and started sweating coldly like when she was training with her father back then.

“Next!” The instructor moved his sword away from Sara's neck and glanced at her assistant. “ Number 65!”

“Ya!” sahut Leon began to approach the instructor.

When he passed Sara, Leon whispered

“You've done your best Sara.”

Leon was in front of the instructor.

“Note your name and age,” said Instructor in front of him.

“Yes! Leon, age 15,” says Leon. (For those who read the Arc 1 epilogue must have known the full name Leon )

“Alright, you can start now.”

After hearing the instructor's words, Leon immediately shot towards the instructor and performed a Vertical strike.

“Rage!”
