Arc 1 Chapter 43: The Grimoire

Luciel is in a memory. He saw a woman walking with a little boy in a forest at night.

“Why did the nurse bring me here?” little Luciel asked.

“Well... you will know soon,” replied the woman.

They arrived at the place they were going. In front of them was a Lycanthrope horde of 2000.

“I saw someone summon a monster – this monster you know,” said the woman. “Luciel knows what will happen if these – monster monsters are left just like that?” ask the woman.

“They will attack City,” Luciel replied.

“And what will happen if they attack City?,” asks the woman back.

“People – people will die, all – children in the orphanage will lose their place.” Luciel replied as he clenched his hands.

“Then, you know what you should do Luciel?”

“Ya,” Luciel then looked into the eyes of the woman.

“ ****** *******,” says Luciel.

“Alright, you are indeed a good boy Luciel,” the woman said with a smile.“But Luciel, this time it will feel worse than the previous one, you still want to do it?” ask the woman again as if – will ask little Luciel's resolve.

“Ya, please sister,” Luciel answered her directly.

That night, 2000 Lycanthrope troops arrived – suddenly appeared and disappeared just like that in an instant. The person who summoned them cannot be contacted by the superior who ordered them.

Moments after the attack, the woman was in a room observing Luciel who was fast asleep.

“You are indeed a good and strong child Luciel,” said the woman. “But now you have to wake up,” whispered the woman in Luciel's little ear.

“Build...”.

Luciel then began to awaken from his memory and found his body walking itself towards the lake. Soon, he managed to regain his bodily functions and saw a Nymph about to prey on Adel.

He then rushed to use Accelerate. The nymph then shows the teeth – sharp teeth will pounce on Adel. Luciel arrives in front of Adel and restrains the Nymph.

“ Grrrahhhhh!” The nymph then bit Luciel's shoulder.

“Aghhhh!!” Luciel's shoulder drew blood which made him scream in pain.

“What happened?”

Shortly thereafter, Adel regained his consciousness.

“ Miss Adel... don't be silent.. do something,” Luciel said.

But seeing Adel who had realized, the Nymph then released Luciel's shoulder and disappeared back into the water.

“Hahhh... hah..,” Luciel then held his shoulder which shed a lot of blood.

“Can I hand the monster over to you Miss Adel?” luciel.

“Of course,” answers.

Adel then placed his hand on the surface of the water and cast a spell.

“Feindsuchen ”

The magic circle then formed on the surface of the water and expanded along 50 meters and then disappeared. But there was a trace of magic moving in the water that was seen by Adel. He then gathered the mana in his hand to cast a magic. Nymph, unaware that Adel's whereabouts have been tracked, approaches to make an ambush and appears behind Adel.

“Detonate ” Duar!!!! Arrived – arrived in front of the Nymph appeared an explosion that made him bounce. Adel then turned around and pointed his hand towards the Nymph and cast a spell.

“ Enchant Fireball ” Boozzz!!! A ball of fire shot up and hit the Nymph Bombbbb!!!!

“Aghhhhh!!!” The nymph then screamed in pain and a few moments later, a black smoke came out of the Nymph's mouth.

“ Enchant Fireball ” Adel then perform the last attack to kill the Nymph.

Mmbb!!! After being hit by the attack, the Nymph then died with a charred body burned by Adel's spell.

‘The magic it released has a higher output and speed despite having the same level as Liz’ thought Luciel.

Adel approached Luciel and gave him pills and potions.

“You will recover immediately if you drink it,” said Adel. “Come to the edge,” take her.

In the distance, a young man was looking at the actions of Luciel and Adel from earlier analyzing his fight.

The young man looked at Luciel who was walking behind Adel.

“He looks very ordinary but can easily escape the illusion magic of a Nymph,” he said.

“She doesn't have any mental endurance artifacts I guess, but how could she recover that fast from her illusion?” the young man was confused.

“I think I should ask Master's opinion later.”

The man then returned to duty to watch over his master's daughter.

After the fight, Luciel and Adel rested some distance away from the location of the lake. Luciel was looking at how his wound was slowly starting to close again after drinking the potion from Adel. Meanwhile, Adel was reading the book he was carrying. Surprisingly, Luciel could not see a single piece of writing on the paper of the book Adel was reading.

“What did Miss Adel read? I didn't see a single letter,” asked Luciel curiously.

Hearing this, Adel stopped and said.

“ini is no ordinary book.” He then showed me a rune on the cover of the book.

“This book is called Grimoire,” details.” Grimoire contains – records of magic recordings experienced by its users and can only be read by witches connected to it.”

Adel then opened a certain sheet and continued to say.

“The magic used by Nymph was called Speicher, a level 5 magic that makes the victim will be hypnotized and remember one of the events in the past,” explained Adel with a gloomy expression.

“How about the release?” ask Luciel.

“Here is written ‘depending on the mental condition of the victim if there is no intervention from outside’,” Adel replied.

“If you have recovered, we better return and report my Quest to Guild.”

They then walked back to the city.

Liz POVs

Liz and Rolf are now in the Forest west of Rhine City. Liz had already finished her training by killing a few Drowners and this time she witnessed her Master fighting 3 Hobgoblins in front of her. Previously, they fought about 20 goblins that were reported to appear in the forest.

Rolf was seen easily dodging the swings of some of the Hobgoblins that attacked him.

‘Until now I have never seen Master use his magic.’

Rolf still dodged and when he already had enough space, he then put up a horse – horses. The three Hobgoblins then attacked him simultaneously however, Rolf disappeared and arrived – arrived to be in behind them.

“Shakel” Rolf pronounces the name of his technique. Then arrived – arrived, the three Hobgoblin heads were cut off from his body.

Rolf then rested his sword on his shoulder like posing for a victory and looking at Liz's astonished expression – in awe, he smiled in satisfaction.

“What do you think?” ask Rolf.

“Mantap Master!” liz answered while giving her thumbs up.

“This is one of the knight techniques of the Holy Empire of Isenburg,”.

“Can I learn it?” ask Liz.

“You must strengthen your foundation first,” said Rolf.

“Good Master!!!”

In the afternoon, Luciel and Adel were in the Hunter Guild to report on the Adel Quest that had been completed. Luciel was sitting in a corner of the Guild waiting for Adel to speak to the receptionist. Luciel heard the topic – the topic being talked about by the Hunters. The most hot topic is a Festival of ascension of heroes held every month 5 days to 1 . It was only a week away from now and from tomorrow the residents will start arranging the city to prepare for the festival. Luciel had seen it several times in Elea City, but the festival celebrations in Luciel's hometown were not so great. Luciel was curious how it would be organized in a Big City like the Rhine City to be seen later.

Moments later, Luciel sees Adel approaching him. Luciel stood up.

“This is your reward for carrying – of my goods,” said Adel who gave Luciel 3 Gulden in return.

“But, this is more than we agreed,” Luciel said.

“You helped me fight the Nymph in the lake earlier, and that was your reward,” explained Adel.

“What's your name?” ask Adel.

“Luciel.”

“Happy to know you Luciel,” Adel then offer him a handshake. Luciel took his hand and Adel said.

“My name is Adelheid von Rhine the rightful heir of the Rhine Duchy, the title of supreme nobleman in the western region of the Kingdom of Bavaria. Nice to meet you Luciel,” Adel smiled and started leaving the Hunter Guild.

‘It explains the talent and money he has’ thought Luciel.

Soon, Liz and Rolf return from their hunt. Luciel and Liz then talk about the Festival of ascension of the heroes that they will visit later.
