Arc 1 Chapter 44: A quiet day before the storm

Days passed, Luciel and Liz spent their time in Rhine City. Luciel is busy with the potions he makes and does the Quest as a hunter while Liz is busy with her training with Rolf.

Today, Luciel and Liz are walking – streets in the center of Rhine City whose residents are busy preparing for the Heroic Ascension Festival. The Heroes received 8 Holy Weapons in the first 5 days of the Month at a place called the Goddess Altar. It is located in the center of the Goddess Juliana Temple in the Geneva Theocracy. Goddess Juliana interacts through the consciousness of a chosen Saint and blesses the Heroes and gives them a weapon to fight the Demon King during the great war.

After the Demon King is sealed, the humans of the Asgardian continent celebrate the historic day every year and a Theatre will be held about the struggle of the heroes in defeating the Demon King.

Luciel and Liz then arrived at the square – Rhine City square. Alun – square Rhine City has a larger area than the square – city square that Luciel has ever seen. The residents began to decorate the streets and city lights for the Festival. The Acolyte (priest's assistant, in the future will be explained further in the story later) is setting up a stage in the middle of the Square – Square for the performance on the night of the Festival.

Luciel and Liz then sat down at one of the Stall selling food outside the square area – plaza.

“The city is busier than usual,” said Liz who pays attention to the activities of the citizens of the City.

“Abviously, 2 more days The most popular Festival in the Continent will take place,” explained Luciel.

“I have never visited any Festival time in Baden City,” said Liz who looks moody.

“We will see it later, I heard the show when the Festival night will be very good,” Luciel said.

They then finished the food in the message and soon they heard the sound of the second bell indicating that it had entered noon.

“I have to go now, I have to meet the Master in the East Forest City,” Liz said.

“Alright, see you later tonight Liz.”

After Liz left, Luciel then went to continue touring the City to see the bustle of the townspeople.

The East Forest of the City …

A masked man was waiting for his partner to pick up an item he had promised.

“You look pretty good – just fine since we last met,” said a cloaked man who arrived – arrived appeared behind him.

“I'm late – this final choose to reduce my activity install magic formula because the Inquisitors have started focusing on me, I even limited my use of magic so that they can not track me,” is obviously the masked man.

“Yes, I will fight Duke Lambert while Lord Vlad will fight Camillus if he appears,” replied the cloaked man.

Camillus, hearing his name makes the masked man pessimistic about the plan they are working on will work.

“Alright, see you at the time of plan execution.” The cloaked man then disappeared in the depths of the forest.

Moments later, the masked man saw a red-haired girl who looked to be looking for someone.

Liz POVs

Liz was sitting on a tree when she saw Rolf walking up to her.

“You've been waiting a long time Liz?” ask Rolf.

“No Master, what will we do today?” ask Liz.

“Well... You already know that knights have 3 common styles in Aryan culture,” said Rolf ” Strom, Vertei and Gesch,” Rolf then explained the three fighting styles of an Aryan Knight.

Strom, a sword style that uses the Power of attack as the basis of his – technique.

Vertei, a sword style that uses a variety of counterattacks as the basis of his – technique.

Gesch, a sword style that utilizes speed as the basis of its – technique.

Rolf then started breathing and prepared his horse –. Then he saw 3 leaves falling from a tree and darting through it. 3 leaves then split into two parts with a flash.

“It was a technique that Master used when fighting Hobgoblin yesterday!” Liz looked excited to see it.

“Yes, this technique relies heavily on speed to master it,” said Rolf “ Try you start practicing doing 3 slashes quickly first,” he added.

“Good Master!”

In the center of the city was a magnificent castle where the Rhine ruler Duchy lived. Two Bodyguards were watching a father and his son practice magic at the training ground.

“Well, so the young man was able to escape the illusion of a Nymph quickly,” Zeno said. They were discussing about what happened when Luciel and Adel faced the Nymph at the lake.

“When someone has experienced a lot of bad things –, then any bad illusion will feel like a very beautiful dream,” explained Zeno.

“But Master, how can such a young person get the state as Master described?” ask Disciple.

“Everyone has their own secrets you know,” replied Zeno.

Zeno then sees Adel who is having trouble against his father.

“Nona Adel still can not be free from the shackles of her past,” he said.

Zeno then saw his subordinates walking over to him and started whispering in his ear.

“Alright, I will inform Duke of their arrival,” he replied.

“What's the Master?” ask Disciple.

“According to the City patrol, they saw Grand Master Camillus seen being inside the City,” replied Zeno.

“What happened..?” his disciple was puzzled by the arrival of the strongest person in the Holy Knight Order suddenly.

At the moment, Camillus and a few knights were going around downtown to see the state of the City. They had arrived at Rhine City by noon today. Camillus then ordered his assistants and some of his knights to go to the Temple to inform them of their arrival.

“I'm the first time to this City and it turns out the food is very good,” said one of the holy knights.

“The city also looks very crowded,” replied his partner.

They were enjoying the atmosphere of the city without using their knight gear so as not to attract attention.

“Grand Master hasn't been here yet?” ask one of the Knights.

“Ya, he wants to see the atmosphere of the City for a while he said.”

On the other hand, Camillus was in the building where the city bell was placed. This building is the highest place in every city. After he got to the balcony, he saw a young man watching the sun start to sink.

“A very beautiful view is not” Camillus said.

“Yes, very different from the scenery in my hometown that only has views of ruins and smoke,” replied the young man.

“I'm sorry about the state of your place of origin that was destroyed by war,” Camillus said.

The young man turned and looked at Camillus and said.

“Ya, and someone has to do something to fix the conflict – big conflicts that are happening in this world.”

When he saw the look in his eyes, Camillus was reminded of a female demon he fought when he was young 40 years ago. One of the 7 great demons sins that appeared while they were doing the operation of cleaning experiments – Devil Cult experiments. The demon killed some of the knights but pardoned some of the knights as well, including the young Camillus. Until now Camillus still did not understand the motive and purpose of the devil was to act so.

The young man turned around and walked to leave the building. Camillus only looked at the young boy's back in silence and recalled the events that had passed.
