Arc 1 Chapter 48: The Shadow Prince

The chaos within the City turned into a massacre. Devil – demons began to appear like Vampires and Dhampirs were seen preying on the citizens of the city. Luciel was hiding in a narrow alley. ‘I have to leave this City. I have to find Liz first’. Luciel then began to settle for – trying to make the demons and monsters scattered within the City unaware of it. Luciel then began to move towards the place where Liz might be.

[In Duke Lambert's room ]

“2 years ago, a prince from the Kingdom of Jimena who is famous for his fighting techniques arrived – suddenly disappeared carrying the Holy Spaniard Weapon with him,”, said Duke Lambert.

“1 years ago, Theocracy began to Excommunicate Prince Alfonso de Jimena for his alleged involvement with the Devil Cult. You cast away your throne as crown prince, your reputation as the best Assassin in your country and the future of your Kingdom, for what? Licking a demon – that despicable devil!” duke Lambert's curse and the room temperature inside started to rise.

Duke Lambert met Prince Alfonso while visiting the Kingdom of Jimena. And he is a person who is highly respected both by his subordinates and other members of the royal family. He even in the – Gadang will be the most powerful King during the History of the Kingdom of Jimena.

The man in front of him just kept quiet and started preparing his horse – ready to attack. Suddenly – arrives the man in front of him disappears from his sight and Duke Lambert begins to prepare his Magic. Assassin is the worst opponent of a witch and a person with the nickname Prince of Shadow will not waste a single gap attacking. Arrived – arrived the man came out of the floor where the Duke stood and tried to stab his dagger. Tang!!! one of Duke Lambert's Artifacts was active and resisted his attack. Duke Lambert then started to activate his magic.

“Starburst!” BOMBBB!!!! Duke Lambert's room was blown to pieces – pieces because of his magic. Duke Lambert then exited his castle area using Minor Teleportation.

“Feindsuchen Grober!” Duke Lambert then activated a detection magic higher in level than that used by Adel. The magic circle then appeared on the ground and began to spread up to 100 meters.

‘High level detecting magic can't even find it, I will try to mark it when he appears later’ thought Duke Lambert started thinking of a plan to defeat his enemy.

Arriving – arrived, Alfonso emerged from the shadow of a building and darted to Duke Lambert. Duke Lambert managed to dodge it with Minor Teleportation magic and pointed his hand towards Alfonso.

“Mark!” A magic mark then stuck at Alfonso's feet before he disappeared again in the shadow of one of the buildings.

“Detonate!” Duke Lambert then detonated his mark but no explosion occurred around the place.

‘What technique he used can be detached from my mark? There are so many mysteries of magic that have not been revealed by man’

Duke Lambert then calculated some shadows around him and began to predict where Alfonso would come out later. He has also set up several air and land mines ready to be detonated.

However, the highly experienced Alfonso Assassin became aware of Duke Lambert's plans and began to change his strategy. Alfonso then used one of his magic.

“Shadow Bend.” When – arrived, the shadows around Duke Lambert began to move and became solid like a knife and began to attack him blindly. Duke Lambert then dodged with acceleration magic but there were some incision wounds he got from Alfonso's shadow attack.

“Burning Sun!” Duke Lambert then activated his magic and flames began to flare around his body making the shadow – Alfonso's shadow shattered.

‘The weakness of the shadow is bright light, is it?’ thought Duke Lambert.

Duke Lambert was very careful – hearted in his use of magic because he was afraid that it would impact the people and his subordinates who were still too close to his fight.

Alfonso's shadow magic again attacked Duke Lambert and began to corner him.

‘I don't have any other option’

He then began to focus and activate magic that only Archmage could use.

“Unreality Field: Burning World!” Arrived – arrived they both instantly moved in different dimensions.

Alfonso arrived – arrived to be in a very hot world. The soil is very dry and there is a volcanic crater where – where.

The magic cast by Duke Lambert was a dimensional barrier that only Archmages could create. When inside, an Archmage can freely cast magic and have a 3x mana regeneration.

“You use it,” said Alfonso.

Unreality Field can target a person and bring them to the barrier dimension of its user. The opponent element magic trapped within the Unreality Field would be greatly weakened significantly. This is one of the mainstay cards of the Archmage.

“The real fight has just begun, boy,”, said Duke Lambert.

On the other hand, the armies of the Regular Duke and Holy Knights were still fighting with the demons and monsters that were starting to fill the City.

Ethan and the other Four Horsemen had already reached their limits after fighting for a full 1 hour. The Hunter Guild and the Goddess Juliana Temple formed a medical and command center at several points of the City. Ethan and the others are tasked with keeping the point from being attacked by monsters and Devils.

“Bishop Clay, what about the Theocratic response in this regard? Assistance from the Capital will only come a few hours and the amount will not be too much because of the war,” said Watchmeister City Rhine. “Theocracy must meet the Nordland Federation to stop the attack so that the Kingdom can focus on overcoming this disaster!” emphatically.

Duke Lambert's battle with Prince Alfonso still continues within Duke Lambert's Unreality Field. Although Alfonso experienced Debuff for being inside Duke Lambert's Unreality Field, he was still able to keep up with his opponent. He was the most outstanding talent over the past 100 as an Assassin. He even earned a Master's Title in the famous Assassin Guild in Jimena Kingdom 5 Years ago when he was 17. (later will be explained more by the author about the level of position of a Guild and Knight Order )

“HellFire!” Duke Lambert activated his magic and a large fire circle formed on the ground, which was pierced by Alfonso. Shortly after, a 100 meter tall fire pillar appeared.

Alfonso could easily avoid it.

‘He's so fast, I have to frame him’ thought Duke Lambert.

Duke Lambert then began planting some special explosive mines in several places. Duke Lambert with a heart of – hearts kept his distance with Alfonso while making him cornered by shooting magic – high-level magic towards Alfonso who was trying to shorten the distance.

“Blazing Fury!” Several magic circles then appeared above Duke Lambert's head and several fire arrows shot out rapidly towards Alfonso. His opponent was able to dodge all of his attacks, yet that was Duke Lambert's plan all along.

“Detonate!” Bomm!!! Alfonso's feet had not even landed onto the ground in his incandescent however, the area around him quickly exploded. Duke Alfonso then retreated and had prepared his Extreme magic.

“Maximize Extreme Magic: Supernova!” arrived – arrived a huge explosion appeared in front of Alfonso.

The explosion was so large that it even made a mushroom cloud as high as 1 Kilometer.

‘Enough, huh?’

Duke Lambert covered his eyes with his hands due to the large amount of hot angina that spread due to his magic.

After the puff of smoke disappeared, Duke Lambert then saw someone standing there. Half his body had a severe burn. But he saw in his right hand a weapon he had only seen once.

“Spaniard : Silent Death” The dagger in Alfonso's right hand becomes one with his right hand.

Alfonso's right hand then changed like a black monster hand. Duke Lambert realized it and then activated a level 8 defense magic.

“ Corona Shield “ A hot defense formed as far as 20 meters around Duke Lambert.

Alfonso's right hand disappeared and seconds later…. Thudd!!!!

Duke Lambert looked down, he saw a hand through his chest from behind and in the hand, the heart of Duke Lambert was beating.

“Hah... hah..” Duke Lambert broke out in a cold sweat with his mouth that began to bleed.

“There are last words before you die?” alfonso asked with half his charred body burning slowly coming towards him.

“My daughter... will avenge me... “ CRUSHHHH!!!!!! The heart in Alfonso's hand broke.

“But Zeno, Dad is still fighting with the enemy! Aren't you ashamed to leave your master!” snapped Adel.

“The task your father gave me was to make sure Miss Adel survived this disaster,” Zeno replied.

BURR!!! Then arrived – arrived they saw the barrier dome of Unreality Field Duke Lambert collapsed. They then saw Duke Lambert lying with a lot of blood with a hollow chest.

“AYAHHHHH!!” The screams of Adelheid who saw the murderer of his father were seen looking at him from the vibrancy.

“Kotar, run Protocol C!” zeno orders his student and rushes to hold Adel and take him by force.

“No!!! My father is the remaining family I have!!! Put me down Zeno!!! I'll kill the bastard itt...” Adel's voice is restrained because Zeno hit the back of his neck which made him unconscious.

The three of them then started to leave the City.
