The Gema Shahadah Aisyah

The Gema Shahadah Aisyah
Don't Ask Anything

"Wih tumben really wear a long skirt." Gracia taunts the new Atalie down from the car. Atalie almost never wore long clothes that's why Gracia sneered when she saw Atalie wearing a long skirt and a sweater that looks good on her body even though it's too big.

"I'm crazy to eat my mosquitoes." All along Atalie's legs and hands were full of mosquito bite marks that made her have to hide them behind long clothes. "But it's good enough for clothes."

"But it's a fun journey."

"Lumayan." Atalie enclose her college bag which only contains a laptop and a notebook because her job in the final semester is only completing a thesis.

"Lumayan doang?" Gracia knew Atalie wouldn't be comfortable traveling with people she didn't know very well. If you go with her, Ayana or Khanza must be different again.

Atalie nodded.

"Well, it doesn't look like your Saturn." Gracia looked at Atalie's legs behind the white skirt she was wearing. He still remembers the reason behind the tattoo of the planet Saturn on Atalie's calf. He said Saturn is special, in addition to having a very large size Saturn also has a ring with a unique shape. Actually any image tattoo will look beautiful on Atalie's smooth legs.

"It's okay, there's sun." Atalie points at his eyes, it doesn't matter if the Saturn tattoo on his calf is invisible. After all Atalie made the tattoo for herself not anyone else.

"That makes me jealous."

"What?"

"Your eyes are wide for the size of the Chinese."

"Because they're not Chinese, they're Indonesian." Atalie spontaneously pursed her lips when she saw Umar coming. "Come to class." He pulled Gracia's hand to get out of there.

"I'm waiting for Ayana to be with Khanza first, there's a class with them because." Gracia's holding Atalie. "Good morning sir." Gracia greeted Umar who had just come down from the bike.

"Morning." Reply Umar while reviewing a smile. He also had a glance at Atalie who was standing beside Gracia. Umar recalled the time Atalie was embraced by a man. If today Atalie brought her own car, it means she was not escorted by her boyfriend.

Never mind Umar, it's none of your business.

Gracia nudges Atalie to come and greet Umar.

"Why are you?" Instead of saying hello to Atalie, it was the wrong focus on the plaster on Umar's forehead.

"It's not polite to the professor." Gracia again elbowed Atalie. From the way Atalie talks, they already look like close friends when not at all. Just because Atalie had been to Umar's house doesn't mean they're just friends. Gracia could see that Umar had no intention of befriending Atalie.

"Wounds." Umar replied briefly, the plaster that hung on his forehead was indeed quite stealing attention. Umar was grateful that the wound was not too deep even though the shame would last long enough.

"I also know it's a wound." Atalie's grouse, if not the wound is impossible Umar put the plaster there.

Umar pulled out his motorbike key and stepped out of the parking lot.

"I'm first." Atalie waved a hand passed from there ignoring Gracia's call, she half ran after Umar. "Sir!" Call her.

Umar's steps came to a halt, without turning back he already knew who called him. Atalie's voice was so distinctive that Umar could recognize her immediately.

"Your call is so much I'm so confused." Atalie gasped for air after catching up with Umar.

"Hm?" Umar did not understand what Atalie was talking about.

"Sir, Mas, Ustadz, keep saying Ayana because you're the son of the cottage nanny so often called Gus."

Umar's lips twitched, so he meant that Atalie was confused to call Umar by what name. Just this time Umar heard others confused calling him even saying it blatantly.

"It's your comfort." Umar did not care what name Atalie used to call him.

"Dear, uh!" Atalie grinned herself while Umar raised a surprised eyebrow.

Umar is confused by Atalie's nature, sometimes the girl looks shy and reserved. When visiting Umar's residence some time ago, Atalie rarely raised her face and more silence if not Maryam who invited her to talk first. But now Atalie is acting ignorant.

"Sorry sir." Atalie linked her hands over her head apologizing to Umar. Atalie almost slipped to call Mas, isn't this the campus environment. It would sound strange if Atalie called Umar Mas.

"Why are you calling me?"

They walked through a corridor that was already crowded by other students.

"I just finished reading Khadijah's book, she was the first wife of the Prophet but why have you never discussed Khadijah?"

"I've talked about it, you don't study."

"Oh." Atalie smiled blandly, why was she so confident in saying that to Umar. Hold Atalie, don't be shy. It's only natural that you don't know, right?

"Why did you read Sayyidah Khadijah's book?"

"I read any book, no particular reason."

"You must have a special reason to read the book." Umar hastened his pace.

Atalie tried to digest Umar's sentence. While reading Aisyah's story, there were many names of people that Atalie thought were important. One of them was Khadijah, that's why he bought the book.

It seems Atalie was made to fall in love by the figure of Aisyah and now she feels the same way to Khadijah. They were equally admirable women, as Atalie was amazed when she read the story of Mary the heavenly woman.

Umar fell silent, before he knew Atalie was non-Muslim. If he knew, Umar would not lend him the book. Who would have thought if the girl who regularly came to the study was not Muslim. To feel upset Umar was not entitled especially when remembering his ummi remark that maybe it was Atalie's way to pick up his guidance.

"Please read any book you like but never ask me again." Umar again sped up but Atalie did not try to catch up.

Umar regretted that he had introduced Aisha to Atalie. He shouldn't be kind enough to lend me the book.

Atalie was glued in the middle of the corridor, she could not believe Umar's words just now. Why can't he ask anything more. Is it because they are different religions? Atalie was wrong to think Umar didn't realize that. If so, when did Umar know? It was not important, after all Atalie did not intend to hide anything. Why should he hide? not that differences are common in compound countries.

"Eh sorry-sorry!"

Atalie awakens from her daydream when someone hits her.

"It's okay." Atalie slightly raised her hand against the help of the man who had hit her, it was Tio who was about to hold her arm. Looks like Tio wants to make sure Atalie is okay.

Atalie immediately passed from there before Tio made small talk. In addition to not liking pleasantries, Atalie also did not want to talk to anyone, especially the Tio.

Tio stared at Atalie's departure, including twice Atalie refused his help. Tio thought after traveling together, he would be more familiar with Atalie.

******

"Atalie, is this your shirt?" Renata put on a black robe that he found in a pile of clothes to be ironed.

Renata steps into the back garden where Atalie has been reading books since she left college. Atalie would not move until she finished the book she read.

"This is your shirt?" Renata asked once more as he reached the back garden.

Atalie looked up and nodded, that was the shirt she was wearing when she went to Maryam's study.

"Why did you buy this shirt?"

"Because it's good, Ma."

"It's nice but you've never had a shirt like this before."

"Eh Ma," Atalie put down her book to talk to Renata. "What if I had a kayak boutique?"

"Don't be weird."

"It's not strange Ma." Atalie takes over the game and lifts it higher so that Renata can see the beauty of her game. "It's called a robe."

"Would you try to negotiate with Mama and Papa about your future?"

Atalie snorted to lower the robe to touch the grass that was deliberately planted throughout the park. He did not not not know if Jaya had determined her job after graduating from college later. Although Atalie doesn't want it, she must still follow her papa's orders. There is no tolerance for it.

"I have advised Papa to raise the topic of selling Alindra Beauty products even though I went all the way to Ijen but in the end my thesis was determined by Papa."

"You're trying to talk to Papa yourself." Renata takes back Atalie's robe and throws it into a pile of laundry.

Atalie's lips trembled withstanding the cry, she looked up to prevent her tears from falling. This is not a one or two time but Atalie has often talked about her desire to have her own clothing store. Their family had a three-story shopping mall but to open a small boutique felt very difficult for Atalie.

Atalie hesitated to enter her papa's study room opposite the worship room. Jaya is seen focusing on the pile of documents on the table even when Atalie knocks on the door and enters the room.

Atalie would give up every time she argued with Renata but now she would not budge. Atalie didn't ask for anything big, just a boutique.

"Pa's." Call Atalie with a hoarse voice barely audible. "Papa." Call him once again because Jaya remains unaware of his presence.

"Papa's heard your chat with Mama."

Atalie took a deep breath, which meant that she no longer needed to explain it to Jaya.

"Pa, I agreed to take the topic of selling Papa's products but I beg you Papa, I want to have Pa's boutique."

Jaya puts her ballpoint pen on the table and sees Atalie. He allowed thick lensed glasses to perch on his nose before speaking.

"Papa's goal is to ask you to discuss the sale of Alindra Beauty products solely to make it easier for you so that you do not need to go far reset here and there, so why do you use that excuse to fulfill your wishes?"

Atalie pias's face, look nothing she's lost. Atalie had not even pulled out a sword but Jaya had already slashed her neck.

"Please discuss any topic for the thesis so that you have no reason to get your wish."

"Thank you for helping me, but I'm not asking for anything big Pa, just a boutique, Papa even has a three-story mall, it's not hard for Papa to give me a boutique."

"If it's not hard why you're asking Papa for help, please try it yourself."

Atalie had a chance to pull out her sword but in vain, she had no ability to defend herself. During this time neither Atalie nor Daniel could oppose Jaya's decision.

Atalie retreats from there with her still trembling body after gathering the courage to talk to her papa.

Atalie hurriedly wiped her tears that had already flowed down her cheeks. It was too early to cry, he had not even done anything. In the end Atalie will still do all the things that have been designed by her father. Atalie doesn't even have any rights to her own life.
