The Gema Shahadah Aisyah

The Gema Shahadah Aisyah
The Divine Destiny 2

The Al-Islam boarding house is filled with a sea of humans who will take Hilya to her final resting place. They were all devastated to hear the news of the death of Kyai Abizar's eldest daughter who was known to be friendly and kind.

The chant of the tawhid sentence continues to be echoed to the cemetery not far from the cottage.

Aminah wept as she could not take the child to the burrow, she fell unconscious several times since the procession bathing Hilya done. How he was not hit, this morning Hilya was still ready to go to Banyuwangi. Aminah did not allow it because Hilya had just gone through a critical condition. But Hilya kept begging to say she wanted to meet Umar and his wife. Finally, with a heavy heart, Aminah allowed Hilya to leave. But Aminah did not expect that it was the last time she spoke to Hilya.

Rose petals sprinkled on top of Hilya's navel until the ground was nowhere to be seen. Prayers continue to be chanted with cries that have no sign of ending.

In the end man will return to the land, back to the lap of the almighty. Man must remember that the world is not an eternal place.

One by one the mourners left the cemetery leaving the nuclear family and the Zaid family surrounding the Hilya navel. They did not expect that the meeting with Hilya was very short. Still stuck in their minds Hilya's last sentence before going home earlier. Hilya said goodbye to everyone but today with a fixed inside look. It turns out he's going to be home forever.

The sun had fallen on the western horizon, the wind blew carrying cold air piercing the skin. The crow that perched on the branches of the frangipani tree continued to sound as if it supported the human grief beneath it.

Aisyah's gaze was empty towards the still wet navel full of flowers. If he who is new to Hilya feels very lost then how the family and the people closest to him feel.

Aisyah wiped her tears that were endlessly melted, Hilya said they would meet soon. But it was not this kind of meeting that Aisyah wanted.

"Sabar Mas," Aisyah clasped Umar's hand, not knowing what kind of sentence to strengthen Umar.

"Ning Hilya was already in the best place by his side." Umar Gumam.

As the magrib's prayer rang, they began to leave the cemetery for the musholla to fulfill God's call.

Ba'da isya tahlilan is done in musholla to the cottage yard. Hundreds of people filled the cottage area that came from all corners of Lumajang city to outside the city. That night Umar had the honor of leading the throne because of Abizar's request.

Aisyah was in Dalem with the women. He knew nothing but his father-in-law Khawla and Aminah. Aisyah also helped as much as she could, she did not want to force herself and messed up the kitchen.

Aminah called Aisha to come closer, and she wanted to speak with Umar's wife.

Aisha looked at Mary as if asking for permission, after which Mary nodded and Aisha sat down beside Aminah.

"You may call me Ummi, as you call Umm Maryam.

"Good Ummi."

"This bracelet from you?" Aminah opened her clenched hand, looking beads poking out of her palm.

"Right Ummi."

"Then please put it on." Aminah put the bracelet on Aisha. "You made it yourself?"

"Yes, this is the first bead bracelet I made." Aisha put the bracelet on Aminah.

"I was not near Hilya in her last moments but the person who accompanied Hilya said that if Hilya had said that she was happy because she met you, Hilya was also happy to be able to wear this bracelet."

Aisha clasped Aminah's hand, "but Ummi, this is just a bracelet and nothing special."

"It is special that you are the woman who will accompany Umar for the rest of your life."

"I'm sorry Ummi." Aisyah's tears returned.

"May Ummi be given unlimited fortitude." Aisha moved to embrace Aminah, she just wanted to give strength to a mother who had just lost her child. Aisyah knew it wasn't much help but she still wanted to do it.

Aisyah sobbed in tears remembering all the beautiful sentences of Hilya. No words are in vain, everything is meaningful. Aisyah is increasingly aware that she will never be able to match Hilya in any way. So special is Hilya.

*******

The Zaid family reached home almost midnight, there was no conversation after getting out of the car. They went straight to their rooms. It still seems to believe that Hilya who visited them this afternoon is now gone.

After cleaning and changing clothes, Aisyah felt the pain and heat on her feet. All day Aisyah felt nothing, her legs blistered and peeling in parts.

"I'll treat him." Umar came with the ointment for Aisha, and she put Aisha's foot into her lap.

"I can treat myself." Aisha wanted to take the ointment but Umar did not allow it.

"It should have been smeared with ointment earlier, sorry I didn't realize that your legs blistered." Umar did not pay attention to Aisyah's legs so surprised by the news.

"My skin is sensitive, it shouldn't be this bad."

"Like when exposed to oil splashes, Mama also said that you are easily bitten by mosquitoes."

"Fortunately there are no mosquitoes in this room."

"I don't give mosquitoes permission to enter let alone perch on my wife's skin." Of course there were no mosquitoes because he had just returned from musholla after dawn prayers, Umar hurriedly sprayed mosquito repellent throughout the room.

Aisyah blushed every time Umar called her my wife. It still sounded strange but Aisyah liked it.

"Let's go to sleep, Mas must be tired of driving for hours." Aisha lowered her feet from Umar's lap.

The bed in the room was not spacious when compared to the bed in Aisyah's house. Actually the size of the mattress was only for one person but they could sleep both on it. Again, Aisha liked it.

Aisha lay down by the wall and Umar followed beside her. If it is allowed to be rearranged, Aisyah wants to put the mattress in the middle of the room but because the room is narrow, the items in it can hardly be rearranged.

"Mas, what happens after we die?" Aisha tilted her body to face Umar.

"We will be visited by two angels, Munkar and Nakir who will ask who is our Lord, who is our Prophet, what is our religion, who is our Imam, where are our qibla and who are our brothers."

"Are they bad?"

"In some accounts Munkar and Nakir are depicted in sinister, black, fierce, violent and frightening forms."

"How could an angel come in such a frightening form when Ning Hilya was a good person."

"Inshaa God the angel will be softer on Ning Hilya, we pray yes." Umar thought Aisyah would be jealous when she met Hilya but they were like friends who had known her for a long time. Unfortunately, their friendship lasted less than two hours.

Aisyah nodded her head to Umar when their distance was very close thanks to the narrow bed.
