The Gema Shahadah Aisyah

The Gema Shahadah Aisyah
Struggling

Umar stared at the ring in his hand, it was Hilya's proposal ring that was returned to Umar. Not only that, the Hilya family returned all offerings such as clothing and beauty products that Hilya had not opened. Umar had said they did not need to return the items but Hilya said it was impossible to keep the objects that would make him more hurt. Finally Umar was able to understand and receive the returned goods.

Two days after Umar canceled his proposal, Zaid and Maryam went to the Abizar family residence. They apologized for canceling the match unilaterally. They also hope that their family relationships will remain good after that.

"Can I help you?" A female employee broke Umar's daydream.

Umar gave the ring to the gold shop employee. Umar did not know who to give the ring to, he also could not save or throw it because the ring is quite expensive, for one month salary Umar as a lecturer. He is not a rich man who is overloaded with money, he finally decided to sell it.

"You for sale?"

Umar nodded. Before going to college, he stopped by the store where Maryam bought a ring for Hilya. Umar hopes Hilya is fine after this.

The streets were still deserted as Umar continued on his way to campus. Having a teaching schedule in the first class, Umar left early.

"Well, it's been ironed?"

Umar was surprised to hear the sound when he just got off the bike in the campus parking lot. Aisyah also appears to have just exited her car, wearing a black robe combined with the original cream pashmina. But believe me despite wearing the original hijab but Aisyah still looks beautiful.

Umar glanced to the right and left, what did Aisha's question mean. What's been ironed?

"I've already ironed it." Umar looked at the shirt he was wearing, looking neat and slippery as he was ironing it himself.

Aisyah laughed, "I mean Gus's face eh Mr. Umar."

"Does my face look straight?"

"No, it doesn't look bright like the last time we met."

Umar mangosteen, does his face at that time really look tangled?after canceling the match, Umar was very relieved to release the heavy burden on his shoulders.

"Your bag looks heavy." Umar saw Aisyah carrying two bags on her right and left shoulders.

"Oh yes," Aisyah took out a jar of her mama-made cookies which she brought from home. Because Renata made a lot so Aisyah took her to campus to share with her classmates. Aisyah also wants to be more familiar with them even though it is actually too late because soon they will graduate. Better late than not at all.

"Make Mas Umar." Aisha offered the cake to Umar. "That's good, it's not me who makes it."

"If you make it?"

"That's impossible."

"Nothing is impossible if you try."

"My expertise in other fields, such as sewing a hijab." Aisyah patted her bulging bag. In addition to the cake Aisyah also brought a dozen of her own sewing hijab. "I went to class first, assalamualaikum."

"Mosur."

Aisyah left with a big smile, inexplicably greeting Umar made her happy because she could not do that. Now Aisyah can do everything she wants to do first such as saying greetings, reading the Qur'an and praying. It was a bit of a new habit that made him happy.

"Wait for Aisyah,"

Aisha stopped her steps hearing Umar's call.

"Yes?" Aisha saw Umar as if to say something but hesitated. "The bottle doesn't need to be reversed."

"Not that."

"Then?"

"Are you among those who plan for the future?"

"Of course, why?" Aisyah has even planned what she will do in the next 10 years. For example, opening a boutique means that it will provide jobs for 10 people if it runs smoothly.

"Do you want to get married?"

"You want to be the same, eh." Aisyah immediately closed her mouth and patted her lips several times because she had said inappropriate words. He forgets that Umar proposed to Hilya. They are a matching couple, Aisyah admitted it was because she had met Hilya in person. Aisyah did not want to think about it anymore, although heavy but until now she kept trying to forget her feelings to Umar.

"All right." Umar sauntered away after saying one short word that made Aisyah bengong.

Aisyah just stared at Umar's departure with a confused feeling. Umar never finished his sentence until Aisyah wondered.

After Umar was no longer seen, Aisha stepped through the corridor to get to her class.

"It's for you." Aisyah took out a small jar filled with cookies that would be distributed to everyone in the class.

"What event is there?" They took one by one the jar.

"No show, my mom's making a lot of cookies."

"Thank you, yeah." Say them.

"This is for girls." Aisyah also distributed the hijab she had packed into plastic. That's the hijab that Aisyah sews herself in between her college busyness.

"There's a hijab too?"

"Yes, that's me sewing myself and please give input to me." Aisha said to her friends.

"You want to make a hijab product?"

"God's Inshaa may all be well, your input is very valuable to me."

"You take it easy, we'll give you input after wearing the hijab."

"Dad, thank you." Said one of Ayesha's friends, he was sitting right next to Ayesha.

Aisyah answered him with a nod and a big smile. Aisyah used to have a hard time doing that— smiled at others she was not very familiar with. But slowly Aisyah learned more friendly and befriended many people starting from her classmates .

"You're so good."

"Hm?" Aisyah's eyebrows lifted.

"From the first time I and others really want to know and befriend you but we don't dare."

"Why?"

"You look terrible, never smile."

Aisyah laughed, she admitted that she rarely smiled and was reluctant to be friends with them. In the past the purpose of Aisyah college was to find knowledge and a degree of course. Maybe that is also the reason Aisyah does not know trivial things like there are vegetables that come from rice fields and can be eaten.

Aisyah will try many things and make friends with many people and not stop learning. His life became more exciting after the conversion. Aisyah is always excited every time you wake up in the morning to try new things.

"I'm actually not fierce, just like not controlled his mouth." Aisyah is still difficult to eliminate her habit of cursing when upset.

"I can say hello to you if we meet outside."

"That's a lot."

*******

Zaid had silenced Umar for a week and it tormented Umar, and it was better for Zaid to scold him than to remain silent like this. Umar always tried to start a conversation but Zaid did not reply. Tens of times Umar apologized but Zaid was still angry. Umar knows his mistake is not trivial because it involves two families who used to be on good terms.

"Who's the girl?"

Umar was aghast at the chair hearing Zaid's voice behind him. He took off his shoes after coming home from college. Umar immediately washed his hands and kissed Zayd's hands, excited that this was the first time Zayd had spoken to him since that day.

"Is he better than Hilya?"

Umar, who had been preparing to answer Zaid's question, was forced to shut his mouth again. Umar was confused to answer that question.

"Is he veiled?"

"Did he pray 5 times?"

"Did he memorize the Qur'an?"

Umar was more silent, everything his brother asked was not in Aisha.

"He has no veil and does not memorize the Qur'an." Lirih Umar's.

"Then what's the reason you like it, your heart is darkened by something you call love."

"Change, but he can find Islam with himself is not born a Muslim like us, she is a girl chosen by God to get guidance, she is special, she wants to try to know Islam and embrace it, he said, he dared to abandon all his luxuries for the sake of Islam, to this day he does not stop learning and become a better Muslim."

"Who is he?" Zaid frowned, Umar like telling someone who is not a stranger.

"Aisha, Abah alone led him to the martyrdom."

Zaid was flabbergasted not to believe that the girl Umar liked was Aisha.

"You want to marry that Chinese girl?"

"If Abah and Ummi allow."

Zaid was silent for a while busy with his own thoughts.

"Originally you are not affected by people's judgment, after you get married there will definitely be people who oppose and talk about you, the son of the boarding school nurse married a Chinese girl, you must prepare for that."

"Umar did not care about the judgment of the Bah people, which is important Abah and Ummi allow, Umar only hopes for the pleasure of Allah."

"Tell me to believe in you." Zaid patted Umar on the shoulder several times.

"Thank you Bah." Umar hugged Zaid tightly, not feeling he was crying because he got Zaid's blessing. "What if Abah is criticized by many?"

"Because you're not married to Hilya?"

"Yes Bah, maybe someone will say if Abah fails to educate Umar."

"Don't think too much about things that don't necessarily happen, the important thing is that you don't violate the sharia."

"I also apologize for Abah and Kyai Abizar's relationship being strained?"

"Our friendship will never change, Kyai Abizar is not that kind of person." Although until now Abizar had not completely forgiven Zaid and his family, but Zaid said it was to appease Umar.

"Really Bah?"

"But don't be too happy, you're still wrong."

"Yes Bah." Umar nodded, his mistake was indeed fatal but he would not stop apologizing to Zaid and Maryam.
