Part 29 (Mama Reni)

Sitting daydreaming alone, Calina is approached by Kenzo who also just finished morning prayers. Kenzo is going back to the VIP room. But he decided to greet the poor village flower first.

Calina was surprised to see Kenzo coming out of Musholla. She did not expect the man with the highest position in the company where her husband worked was also performing compulsory worship.

"Sir Kenzo!" calina squealed her eyes out of her seat.

"Why are you daydreaming here?" ask Kenzo while wearing his slippers.

"Ep... There's nothing, sir... I was just tired of waiting in front of the ICU room" Calina replied lying.

"Where's your husband?"

"Ep... Maybe he's back in town for work." Calina answered only on suspicion.

"Oh..."

Kenzo nodded, then with a hand gesture he hinted that he should leave.

"Yes, Sir. Please.." replied Calina.

Kenzo passed from before Calina. Calina was looking at the back of the sturdy and dashing man with a look of admiration. Behind his cold looks, he still remembered the obligation.

"The man of dreams.." - shrewdly Calina daydreamed. Unknowingly his lips smiled faintly. But a moment later he hit his own head slowly. "Yes, my Calina... What are you thinking! You're too dirty to expect a kenzo!" his grunts nagged at themselves.

Satisfied with grumbling, Calina returned to the ICU room. Naura and Zio are ready to return to the capital.

"Be careful, Ra.."

"You too, Cal! Take care, will you? Let me take care of Mama tonight. I asked Mas Zio to take you home!"

"No need, Ra! I can't bear to leave Mama Reni..."

"But, Cal..."

"It's okay, Ra.." cut Calina.

Finally Zio and Naura passed from the Hospital. Even though Naura was acting this way, she was sure that Zio would not be able to drive her back to the city. Must be the end - he'll take a taxi.

The sun is constantly moving, time is passing by 12 noon. Calina sat in the cafeteria for lunch. From a distance he could see Kenzo's figure entering the Hospital area using a sarong and peci.

Surely he came home from Friday prayers at the mosque in front of the Hospital.

' A man of dreams! '

Calina murmured in the heart. He smiled indistinctly in front of his lunch plate

Not finished eating Calina, Kenzo was already in front still in the same clothes. The man ordered lunch. And predictably, Kenzo sat in front of Calina again that afternoon.

"I see you smile - smile yourself!" said Kenzo flat without looking at Calina.

Smiling embarrassedly, "That's because I didn't expect Mr. Kenzo to pray diligently..."

Kenzo shrugged both of his shoulders, "Actually not really.. The man is wrong. Nor am I always staunch to put obligations first. Sometimes there are those who make this body lazy. Or even because it is more concerned with worldly affairs!"

Calina kept smiling sweetly. He was not at all disappointed by Kenzo's reply. Because it can be said, he himself belongs to the group of people who Kenzo tells. Which does not always fulfill the obligation precisely and completely.

"That's just an awesome father. Different from my husband.." he looked down. There was something he kept. Something I don't want to tell Kenzo or anyone else. Pretty fragile that's all you know.

Amidst the casual chatter, several nurses ran into one of the hallways. Calina looked at the medical experts with a question mark.

Until finally, a nurse ran into the canteen area, and stood in the middle of the canteen with a tense face.

Of course it provoked the reaction of all the canteen visitors.

"Is this Mrs Reni's family from City A?" ask the nurse in a loud voice to attract the attention of the canteen visitors.

Calina's heart was like a huge stone smashing against her chest. With a limp hand and breath that almost stopped, he raised his right hand into the air. With his legs limp he forced to stand.

"Sa..me.." she answered. He believes ad is not right.

Kenzo's reflex stood up. There must be something so precarious that the sisters have to look for it.

The nurse immediately turned to the source of the voice. After knowing where the person he was looking for, he immediately approached.

"Please follow me, Mom! We have something to inform you!" the nurse said with a serious face.

"Good!" calina replied with a thundered chest. From the look of the Sister's face, she was sure there was news about her mother-in-law that could not be ignored.

Calina walked in the nurse's footsteps. Kenzo's reflexes followed Calina behind him. I don't know what makes a Kenzo want to follow Calina's steps.

Get them in the ICU room, where a doctor is trying to get Mama Reni's heartbeat back. Around him were several nurses who were quick to help the doctor. And various medical devices have been attached to several parts of Mama Reni's body.

Calina covered her mouth which formed the letter O. Staring in disbelief at the condition of her mother-in-law.

"Why with my Mom, Sus?" ask Calina lirih.

Calina stared at the monitor screen which all showed a straight line. Instantly he shed tears. Those tears have been welling up ever since he got into the ICU roar. It's even been hot since he walked quickly behind Sister.

"Ma.." - Calina sobbed.

The doctor breathed a heavy sigh, while putting a pair of pacemakers.

"I'm sorry, Miss. Reni's mother died." said the doctor softly.

Instantly Calina felt tight. Tears are falling even more without excessive crying. His body grew increasingly limp, and he fell to his knees on the floor.

His world is now completely collapsing. Staring nanar at some medics who removed all medical equipment installed in Mama Reni's body.

"Maa... Why did Mama also leave Calina.." - Calina was restrained in the middle of the sobbing.

The burly hand touched Calina's right shoulder gently. But Calina who was grieving as if she did not realize whose hand touched and rubbed her shoulders gently.

"Strengthen yourself." whispered Kenzo from Calina's left side.

Hearing Kenzo's voice made Calina wake up from the grief. He turned his head to the side, looking lethargic at Kenzo's handsome face.

In this sadness too, when he saw Kenzo's face he remembered was about Kenzo's voice the night he pushed his bike. Just because Kenzo thought he was an angel that night, Calina wanted to be close to the angel.

Although sometimes he is not convinced that the one who helped him is Kenzo. Because the first one he knew claimed to be named Gilang.

"Come, stand.."

Kenzo, the man who actually did not talk much and seemed haunted when faced with the members of his company, now returns like an Angel to Calina. Spreading its wings to give peace to women whose status is the wife of people.

God seems to deliberately send Kenzo to always be on Calina's side, when her own husband is not there to help her, or provide support.

Calina stood up, and gave way to some nurses who were ready to take care of her mother-in-law's body.

"Call me soon Zio.. I'll give him a week's leave. Considering you lost them in the near future."

Calina could only nod, without being able to answer in a voice.

Calina pulled out her phone to contact Zio. But at that moment he remembered and looked at Kenzo.

"Why?" ask Kenzo.

"I just remembered that I don't have Mas Zio's cell phone number, sir!" calina replied.

"Well!" pekik Kenzo doesn't believe me. "How come? You are husband and wife! I may not have her phone number!" amuk Kenzo unconsciously.

"I used to have one, sir. But since Mas Zio's phone went missing a few months ago, I haven't been given his phone number anymore.."

Kenzo squinted his forehead. He was increasingly clueless about the life of the woman in front of him. A real woman has no obligation to get more attention from her.

But Kenzo's good instincts certainly kept him company with the grieving Calina.

He could have pulled out his phone to call the number of one of his managers. But Zio had no idea that in the last few days he had been chatting with the wife of one of his managers.

"I only have Naura's number! I'll call Naura, sir!" calina immediately searched Naura's name from the contact list.

Kenzo raised the corner of his lips. Strange things that he found from Zio's wife, made Kenzo want to explore more about the figure of Zio.

📞 "Hello, Cal. What's up?" answer Naura from sebrang. "Why are you sobbing?"

📞 "Hello, Ra! Ra, please tell Mas Zio. Mama Reni died." said Calina withholding a sob.

📞 "Innalallahi... How now?"

📞 "It's been prepared by the Hospital!"

📞 "We'll be there soon!" naura shouted from there.

Calina hung up her phone line. And back in the waiting chair. Waiting for the mother-in-law who is preparing for the funeral procession.

In between, he again contacted the village device in the village of Zio. Ask for help to prepare for the funeral of the mother-in-law.

"What's your name?" ask Kenzo to Calina.

"Calina, Sir!" answer Calina.

"Hem.. Yeah, Cal! I have to go back to the ward. You have to be strong to face this reality. One thing you must know, life must go on. Even without the people who love us!"

Calina was stunned, flabbergasted by Kenzo's advice which she thought was unusual. He did not expect that Kenzo had accompanied him so far.

"I know, Sir. Thank you for accompanying me.." - Calina looked down.

"Hem.." answered Kenzo flatly and passed from the waiting room where Calina was still sitting alone waiting for her husband's arrival.

Calina stared at the strapping back on her shoulders, the glove she was all wearing for Friday prayers

Kenzo himself of course passed away, because he did not want one of the managers in his office to know if he had accompanied the figure of Calina.
