The Mystery Red Umbrella

The Mystery Red Umbrella
Two Barrow

Anna was completely bewildered by the two-branched streets. With the candlelight still burning, Anna tried to find another way but there were only two paths. The request for a figure resembling his grandmother was heard again and the request of another figure was heard.

He was completely bewildered by the two figures who were tricking him. Anna closed her eyes, sighing. Like someone whispered in his ear and asked him to keep going. Although she felt it was not the best option, Anna started to step with her eyes closed. Now he could only follow where his feet were and follow his heart.

"Where to go, Anna. There's a ravine!" shouted a figure that resembled her.

"What are you doing, Anna? Come here, Grandma will lead you!" yelled at the grandmother.

Anna ignored the cries of the two of them. Both legs still continue to step, although the two figures shout and say in front of him there is a ravine but until now his feet can tread. Anna did not know how far and where she had gone but for sure, the voices of the two figures were no longer visible.

Eyes opened slowly, Anna looked around which was suddenly silent and dark. It seems like he did not take the wrong path and indeed did not because if he took that path to the right, he will fall into a pit filled with acidic water that will make his body melt and if he has a left path he will fall into a hot river. If it did, he would die and his soul would be trapped in that place forever.

Anna breathed a sigh of relief, but she should not be happy that she had not found Barrow. The clock he used was seen, there were four minutes left. Damn it, lest he can't bring Barrow back. Anna started running.

"Barrow, where are you?" his yell.

Barrow is blind, he can't do anything. The sound of Anna's cry was getting closer, she was sure Anna could definitely find her whereabouts.

"Anna, I'm here!" his yell.

Anna halted her steps, Barrow's voice heard from all sides. Is that the original Barrow voice or is that a clone of the creature that was there?

"Barrow, where are you?!" shouted again.

Anna put on a fine ear, she hoped to hear Barrow's screams again but what she heard was a terrible growl behind her. Anna looked over, pointing the candle. His body seemed as if it was frozen when he saw a monstrous tall large figure.

The figure was like a wolf, but the horned goat. His sharp teeth were truly terrifying. The figure also stood using both of his legs, one barbed stick in hand. The creature had one big eye in the middle, it was like a Troll in a fairy tale book.

Anna stepped back while gulping, strangely with a small candlelight she could see the monstrous figure from top to bottom even though the Troll was several meters high. The Troll's eyes did not escape from him, then a terrible growl sounded accompanied by a single swing of the thorny cane.

"Damn!" Anna swore, she had to run.

The big stick that was swung, hit the road. Anna's body was thrown due to the powerful waves generated by the blow. His body hit the road and again he got injured so that his mother and aunt were increasingly worried especially there was no sign if Anna had managed to find Barrow. Whether what Anna was facing in that realm, they were really worried.

Anna immediately went up and ran back, the stick swinging back so that it destroyed the road. The path he was walking on was already cut off, he could not go anywhere other than running forward.

"Barrow, where are you?" he screamed and ran.

The troll chased after, set foot and again smashed the road. Anna cursed, another blow was dealt and this time the troll's baton struck the road in front of her. Anna could not stop her running pace, her screams heard as she mired into the wide-braided hole.

Anna shouted loudly, this time she must have died because a hot lava river had suddenly appeared beneath her but unexpectedly, her hand grabbed onto something that was curved. Anna was very astonished, let alone her body like someone was lifting up.

His body lifted up from the hole slowly until he stepped back on the road. The troll suddenly disappeared, the atmosphere was dark and quiet again.

"Who are you, why are you helping me?" ask Anna. He thinks it was the woman who helped him.

No response, the atmosphere went back to silence. Anna looked for a figure who spoke to her yet there was no one. Now that he looked around, did he have to believe the woman's words? There seemed to be no other way, no idea who the woman was and why to help her but she was sure she was not deceiving him.

Anna ran, looking for the big tree in question. He yells back to Barrow, hoping Barrow can answer him so he can find Barrow's whereabouts. He was racing against time, a speck of light was beginning to show, it seemed like it was the way for him to return but he had to return with Barrow.

"Barrow!" Anna yells.

"Anna, I'm here!" two voices from the same direction.

Anna ran over, her steps halted when she saw the two Barrow were in plain sight. Oh, goddamn. Again he had to choose between the two Barrow.

"Anna, get me out of here!" shouted Barrow who was on the right side.

"No, Anna. He's a fake, let me go!"

"Shut your mouth, I'm the real one!"

"I, don't confuse Anna!"

"No, I'm the real one!"

"Stop!" Anna shouted in annoyance. Already past many obstacles, now he had to choose one of them. If he is wrong, then he will bring the wrong soul. He had to think about it well and unfortunately, the time he had stayed a little and his way back was already visible and if he was late then the road would be closed.

"Hi.. Hi.. Hii... Hi...!" there was that horrible laugh again.

"Pick between one, Anna" he said.

"Don't mess with me!" anna shouted furiously.

"You guys don't mess with me? How dare that woman help you? I'll burn his soul to the end!" the spirit shouted angry.

Anna frowned? what did she mean by the woman who helped her earlier? Who is this woman and why help her?

"Anna, get me out!" yelled Barrow on the left.

"Don't, Anna. I'm the real one!" yell at the others.

Anna closed her eyes, she knew one of them was the real one but which one was the real one? He could not choose like he had chosen the path earlier so how should he distinguish which one was the real Barrow and which one was fake? It's a complicated world and now, it's not much time to make a decision.
