You're Being tricked

Anna stepped back, the flashlight was lowered and Anna exchanged her firearm for an anesthetic weapon she had prepared. He had been on guard about this, so he carried an anesthetic weapon that could make an elephant fall unconscious immediately after being hit by the stun gun. The weapon of course he took in his house which had been broken apart by Barrow.

He's already calculated everything. Mariana must have used Barrow to intercept her step because her grandmother's spirit had warned her about Barrow ransacking her grandmother's household, so Anna prepared an anesthetic weapon because she couldn't possibly kill Barrow moreover, he knew Barrow was being tricked. The helpless Barrow, stepped back. The sound of footsteps getting closer rang out, Anna stepped back around the large tree she was sheltering in.

Barrow got closer and once he got behind the firearm tree Barrow was active and shot but luckily Anna was already hiding behind the other side of the tree.
