Chapter 44: Nathan's Disguise

In a thick forest, almost at night. The air was getting colder, the sky was darkening. A mute woman is now walking home.

Instead of answering, Laura turned to the middle-aged woman before her at this moment. "Aunt Elena, can you leave us alone. I have something to talk to him about."

"How did you end up in this?" laura asked coldly after Elena's departure.

"After what did I do? You think I'll believe it?" laura said slightly emphasizing each of her low-pitched sentences. Even Nathan spoke like a whisper so as not to be caught by them.

"It's up to you to believe it or not. But that's the truth. Even Papa is worried about you right now. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have gone undercover like this to look for you in a village where there's never been a man." Nathan snorted, an annoyed expression vividly drawn on his face as his sacrifice was invisible to Laura. "You should have known. I feel like I'm taking my own life by coming here. Just for the sake of finding information about you."
