Chapter 6: Trapped in the Play

A slap that landed on Michael's cheek left everyone stunned by what Laura was doing back then. "You can leave me and get engaged to her after making me conceive your child!" said Laura with clear circles gathered in her eyes. 

His acting this time was stunning, whereas Michael who still had not looked at the face of the girl in front of him could only smile inwardly. At first he wanted to present a hired man under the pretext of Nathalie's lover, but instead a woman he never expected before appeared. 

The invited guests were stunned and started whispering to each other, while Nathalie almost slapped back the woman she did not know before her. However, for a moment Michael's hand caught and blocked him. 

"All right, let's start this charade," Michael's mind flicked Nathalie's hand and turned to look at the woman he had just met. "I'm sorry, honey. I tried to explain it to my family. But instead they made me betrothed to a woman I didn't love. Sorry for making you and our baby-to-be suffer," Michael said, changing his expression as if he was a loving man who held his lover in remorse. 

Laura could only be silent and also blinked her eyes a few times. He was surprised by what Michael did. Not to refute, but to justify what he did, was indeed something very profitable for him. "What is this show?" laura's mind was pounding and felt that something else was really just beginning and it seemed like good fortune was on her side.

“Mich.’’ Grandma Eli and her daughter-in-law started to step forward, while Michael seemed to let go of hugs. However, his hand turned to hold Laura's hand. "What's this really about, Mich?" 

"I'm sorry, Grandma. There was actually another woman I loved and it wasn't Nathalie" Michael said with a gentle smile looking at Laura. A smile that had never been applied before to anyone. 

"But, didn't you say you didn't have a boyfriend before, son?" ask Lady chiming.

"I don't have a boyfriend, Ma. But she was my future wife from the beginning. Now I hope Mama and Grandma bless our relationship. Because there's still fruit of love in his belly that requires a father's responsibility." What a perfect play done by Michael. She was not even shy about showing affection by kissing the back of Laura's hand in her grasp as if the two were indeed a couple. 

"You mean?" ask the two women of different ages simultaneously. 

"I'll marry her and be the man in charge today as well" Michael replied without hesitation getting a sharp glare from Laura. 

"What's? You can't do that to me, Mich? If you marry her, what about me?" nathalie asked with heightened emotions. 

"Sorry, Nathalie. This engagement should never have happened. After all I don't love you and the woman beside me is what I love," Michael replied making Laura shudder in horror at his smile. 

Meanwhile, Nathalie who was surprised by Michael's confession could barely stand up because she felt her legs limp. Luckily his mother immediately grabbed the woman's body and firmly snapped at the family. "How dare you humiliate our family at an event like this! Come on, Nathalie, let's get out of here!" 

"But, Ma—" 

"There's no buts. They've put our family to shame!" The mother then forced the hand of Nathalie who still could not believe what was happening at this time.

Her engagement was shattered already in the blink of an eye just because of the arrival of a woman. His dream to get into the Wilson family was lost without ever expecting it. But just one more step. 

Unfortunately, not only was Nathalie stunned, but Laura as well. Michael's actions are beyond the limits of his current thinking. However, he had not yet regained consciousness from the situation, the man had already returned making him almost dead. 

"Grandmother, can we postpone the show by an hour. I want my bride to look beautiful on our wedding day" Michael asked unexpectedly. 

"What?" Excited the three women at the same time, while Cathy who sat at the guest table spouted her drink because she was surprised. 

"Are you surprised, honey. Isn't this what you wanted? We become whole families and harmonious parents for our children." Michael even boldly rubbed Laura's flat stomach back then. 

"Tap–but that's not what I mean" Laura replied. However, Michael's index finger quickly closed his lips. 

"Can't! You can't just marry a woman, Mich. You're the heir to the Wilson family. What if it turns out that he's just a con man who wants to take away our family property?" Lady showed her dissatisfaction blatantly. Although the girl in front of him looked beautiful, but if she got married right away she could no longer control Michael and her plan would be ruined. "At the same time, his stomach was not big enough. Mama doesn't want it if it turns out that it's all just a skit," Lady sneered at Laura's cynical glance.

Inevitably, Grandma Elizabeth could only nod to justify Lady's words and grab Michael's hand. "That's exactly what your mama said, son. You don't have to worry, as long as the woman you love is really her. We will not hinder your marriage. After all, the seeds of the Wilson family had already grown in that womb. But, we can do the engagement first and the wedding can be done after this, Mich. Women also need the best memories in marriage not carelessly like this" said Grandma Eli trying to persuade Michael.

"Ma?" The lady almost interrupted Grandma Eli's remark, but quickly the old woman glanced sharply at him. 

"Didn't you want a grandchild, too. For other things we'll talk about at home" Grandma Eli finally broke up. He couldn't possibly let Wilson's surname crumble and go bad on the show with this many guests. Although embarrassing and do not know how the origin of the woman who claimed to be Michael's lover. However, it was not a difficult thing for him to separate them later and break the engagement rope. How to gain Michael's trust first. 

"Alright then, Grandma. I'll take him to the dressing room first. It was impossible on our engagement day that she was just wearing a dress like this" Michael finally relented.

"Go!" Tell Grandma Eli at the end. 

As if a perfect and loving couple, Michael gently led Laura away from the hall to the dressing room. However, Michael's attitude changed drastically after the two arrived in the dressing room, he rudely told Laura to sit down. "Give me your bag!" 

"For what?" asked Laura coldly.

"Give it!" Without waiting for approval, Michael forcibly retrieves Laura's small bag and summons one of the fairies there. "You're gushing her like a woman."

"Good, Sir." Without asking much, the fairy began to do her job while Michael looked around where there were three dresses available there with different models. 

"Put the dress on her later!" point Michael at a plush black dress with a sprinkling of diamonds on each piece.

On the other hand, Laura smiled inwardly, despite feeling stuck with her own game and still thinking about what to do in the future. "May I go to the bathroom for a moment" he asked the fairy. 

"Please, Miss," said perias. However, when Laura was about to step out she was like a fool because the fairy asked again, "Where do you want to go, Miss. The bathroom is right here." point it at a door. 

"Ah yes." Failing was Laura's intention to escape because in the bathroom of the room there was no gap for her to escape. The only chance for him to enter the Wilson family gap is tonight.

Pretty long Laura in the bathroom to the pounding outside also surprised him. "What are you doing inside? How much you intend to escape from here you better stay away from all that if you still want your life. Because I won't let you go before this wedding happens." Michael's baritone voice sounded so clearly threatening to Laura. 

Meanwhile, Laura grew even more proud thinking about her current fate. "I have to take advantage of the current situation? Should I deceive him again" he said grinning.

Laura opens the bathroom door slowly and intends to apologize only and pretend to want to be separated from Michael.

"Tu—" However, Laura had not had time to open her mouth Michael had first brought her back in and smothered her mouth.

"Whatever you want to say and whoever paid you to derail my engagement I'll forgive you if you follow my game and we get engaged. Understand!"

Hearing Michael's words, Laura whose mouth was still smothered could only shake. The man pulled a gun out of his pocket and pointed it at Laura's temple. "Do you understand now?"
