Wizard and Deat Reaper: Hogwarts
Chapter 20's

Those who can see death.

Ichigo looked at the odd horses that were eating the cow carcasses with full understanding now. He was also a little surprised to learn that there were also such magical creatures. They should feel a bit odd, similar to the presence of hollow, but much smoother without killing. Maybe the Thestral are like spirits, hollows, or shinigami who can only be seen by those who have spiritual abilities.

Perhaps that was why the four Thestral bowed to her and Toushiro, realizing that they were not human. Well, even though they now look like ordinary humans, the Thestral clearly knew that they were shinigami, beings who had a close bond with death.

Ichigo wondered at heart about something. It was clear what made him see the Thestral, what made him see the spirits. What made Toushiro see it? Whose death did he see? Is it to see Thsetral you can do it by seeing your own death?

'Silly thinking, King,' had a sneering voice in his mind. 'All spirits will see everything. The field of view of the spirit is different from the narrow view of man.'

Ichigo chose not to reply to the hollow's words. Another thing distracted him: the arrival of Dolores Umbridge. The Great Inquisitor clearly did not give Hagrid the opportunity to show his best performance. Unfortunately, Hagrid is easily distracted, much worse than Toushiro who will go berserk if mentioned about his height. Umbridge sinlessly made Hagrid look ridiculous, wrote things like 'must use rude sign language', 'appears to be short and crummy', and 'shows signs of delight at violence.' It's sad to see Hagrid seem to lose grip and confidence.

"Please continue teaching as usual. I'll wander among the disciples and maybe ask them questions" Umbridge said in a slow voice, in a gesture, as if he were talking to a very foolish man. Hagrid himself looked at Umbridge with a confused and wounded expression, completely clueless as to why the Great Inquisitor acted as if he did not speak human language.

"Eh, yeah," said Hagrid, trying to get back to the focus of his lesson, "there's a lot of good things about Thestral. Once they are tamed, you will never get lost again. They have an amazing sense of direction, just tell me where you're going…"

"By supposition they understand you, of course" chirped Malfoy loudly, answered by Pansy Parkinson's loud rant and the stifled laughter of the Slytherin children. Professor Umbridge just smiled seeing that. He looked at Ichigo with his fake sweet smile, ignoring how the squeamishness between his eyebrows showed an unspeakable irritation.

"You can see that Thestral, can't you, Mr Kurosaki?" tanyanya as sweet as honey.

Ichigo just nodded stiffly.

"Then what do you think of them?" umbridge asked, waving his fat fingers with origin at the invisible creature.

"They're okay," Ichigo said.

"Ah." Umbridge looked rather dissatisfied. He winks slowly. "I want to know, Mr. Kurosaki, because you can see them, I want to know whose death you saw."

Harry could see Ichigo's expression harden and his hands clenched. Whether Umbridge could see the change in expression or not, he obviously didn't care much either. Toushiro who was standing beside Ichigo glanced at him at a glance, his eyes narrowing in alarm. Several children, including Malfoy, stared at Ichigo curiously.

"My mother" Ichigo said in a muffled voice. Harry exchanged a glance with Ron. Hermione and Neville looked rather surprised. It is only remembered that Ichigo never once mentioned about his mother, he only ever mentioned about his father and his two younger sisters. However, the shock was not only seen on the faces of the Gryffindor children. Malfoy looked at Ichigo rather in shock. Oh, so that Kurosaki lost his mother...

"Oh, I'm sorry" Umbridge said, there was no regret at all in his voice. "May I know why your mother died, and when?" 'It is fitting that this child is so brash, ' Umbridge thought, 'no mother can teach him manners.'

"That's none of your business" Ichigo said flatly, without looking at her.

"Maybe I can help you, Mr. Kurosaki," said Umbridge sweetly. "I can…"

"I don't need your help, thank you," Ichigo said immediately. "It's been a long time and I can handle it."

Umbridge obviously did not expect to get that unfriendly response. He turned around arrogantly to question Pansy Parkinson.

"Basic Grandma Lampir," grumbled Ichigo quietly, convinced Umbridge was not within earshot. "You know people's business."

"Well, he was curious about our background that he couldn't find" Toushiro said in Japanese. "I'm sure he's been suspecting us ever since Urahara inspected it. But you know, he won't get any information, even if he tries to find out from Shinou, he won't be able to reach it."

And finally, five minutes before the hour-mark bell ended, Umbridge left Hagrid's class. He told Hagrid, in a manner as if to speak to the person***, that he would send the results of his inspection in ten days. Ichigo is a big hit on him, as well as on Malfoy and Parkinson who laugh out loud to mock Hagrid.

Gryffindor's children walked through the snow with a huff; toushiro walked ahead, this time turning the snow as dense as ice to walk on it. Ichigo argues that if the snow turns to ice in Toushiro's hands without a spell or magic wand, it means that the mood of the white hair is as bad as all of them.

December brings more snow for all of them. Not only that, the odd semester that began to approach finally automatically gave them a lot of PR as well. Especially for the Prefects like Ron and Hermione, they had the additional task of overseeing the dwindling discipline ahead of the Christmas holiday and decorating the castle for the celebration.

"Do you think we can go home this holiday?" Ichigo questioned Toushiro as they returned from the library to search for their Ancient Rune PR materials. "I heard Harry was going on holiday to Ron's house; magic protection there would take care of him."

"The mission contract is ten full months, Kurosaki," said Toushiro flatly. "Even if Potter will be safe there, we still need to give double protection, also keep Hogwarts."

Ichigo waved his lazy hand at the empty corridor in front of them. "This big castle still needs to be guarded as well…"

"Huh. Even if I can go home I will still choose here," said Toushiro, sounding rather annoyed.

"Hm? Why?"

"Date of twenty December," grumbled Toushiro. "If I go home, Matsumoto will go crazy to make a party for me…"

"Your birthday?" smirk Ichigo. "God! It turns out that shinigami can celebrate his birthday, huh? Cool."

"That is exactly it, *****. We're dead, why try to celebrate birthdays. It doesn't matter."

"Ha! Here you look!"

The Weasley twins emerged from the end of the corridor looking satisfied. They rush to Ichigo and Toushiro.

"We're looking everywhere for you" Fred said.

"… Owl Cage.." said George.

"… the recreation room…"

"… office Urahara-sensei…"

"… before we know where your diligent son is…"

"… the library and…"

"Enough," snapped Toushiro, stopping the conjoined sentences of the badung twins.

"It sounds like you're looking for Toushiro," Ichigo said curiously. "What's wrong?"

The twins exchanged looks, exchanged grin.

"We need your help" said George cheerfully.

"Help?" Toushiro raised next to his eyebrows.

"No way."

Ichigo laughed restrainedly behind Toushiro. Unexpectedly and unexpectedly, the Weasley twins took the white hair to the Quidditch court to express what they wanted. Ichigo, who was curious, followed them. It was only the two shinigami who knew what they wanted without Fred and George needing to explain.

That afternoon the Gryffidor Quidditch team carried out the Seeker and Beater selection for their team. No child of Gryffindor would not know, if the announcement of the selection was embedded in a large poster in the recreation room. But who knows if Fred and George ask Toushiro as a new Seeker candidate to replace Harry. He was led to Angelina Johnson.

"Oh, come on, Toushiro," persuaded George cheerfully. "We're sure you'll be okay."

"No children will take part in the Seeker selection, the qualifications are too heavy" said Angelina disappointed.

"Then why me?" toushiro asked frowning, his arms crossed in front of his chest.

"Because your criminal record in Umbridge's book is clean!" said Fred excitedly.

"What kind of reason is that?" toushiro Gerru.

"If our team members have no problem with Umbridge, the prospect of interruption and interference with us will be reduced!" alicia said enthusiastically. "What do you think if we use him to be our Seeker, An?"

"Hm.." Angelina looked at Toushiro full of judgment, from head to toe. He then walked around the white hair with a full search. "Small..light weight.it is definitely suitable to be a Seeker…"

Ichigo laughed loudly at Toushiro's expression when he heard Angelina call him 'small'.

"… I heard you were talented at Urahara's lessons; it was the most physical-training-at-Hogwarts lesson. And he told me you had good reflexes. Have you flown before?"

"No broom," grumbled Toushiro, still unable to accept being called 'small'.

"How about we just check, An?" katie's advice. "We'll see what he can."

"I told you I didn't!" toushiro Protest.

"Here you go, Toushiro, just try it first" Ichigo said, trying not to show laughter so as not to offend the little guy in front of him who already seemed very upset. Ichigo sighed; he should be able to make Toushiro able to relax a little. His serious attitude of focusing too much on his duties and professionalism as a shinigami is sometimes quite annoying.

"Give me just one reason for me to do it," said Toushiro, looking at Ichigo threateningly. Ichigo could read the message behind that gaze; making me-look-ridiculous-kill-you.

"Huh? Just one? I can love more than that! All right... how about..." Ichigo cleared his throat, changed his language to Japanese. "help Ron? If you can get into the team, you can help him improve his skills! And think about Umbridge. If he finds out you're on the team, it means he knows you're just an ordinary kid who can also socialize and not something to suspect!"

Toushiro. "You mean to say I can't socialize…"

"That's enough," said Toushiro, returning to English. The other children who had heard the conversation were dumbfounded for a moment. "Mostly talk. I told you one reason."

"End of…"

"Just!"

"Yes, yes!" Ichigo is silent, but he knows he managed to persuade the Hyourinmaru owner. Well, it turns out Toushiro isn't that cold either.

"So you want to?" fred's smile was enthusiastic.

"Just try out, all right…"

"Just put on my broom." Alicia lent her broom to Toushiro to wear.

"If you're the first to wear it, let me show you the basics."

Angelina then explained for some techniques about the basic technique to fly with a broom on Toushiro while doing a short demonstration. It was fortunate that Ichigo knew how intelligent the shinigami was. Just by looking, it was enough for him to understand.

"Well, I think hands-on practice would be more helpful" Angelina said. "Now, try to fly."

'If only you knew I didn't need this silly broom to fly, Woman, ' Toushiro grumbled inwardly. Despite the ogah-ogahan, Toushiro was riding Alicia's broom. He ignored the gaze of all the children on him, concentrating on what was in front of him.

It's gonna be easy. Only with a broom that was smeared. Wait, is he panicking? No. gabe. He's not panicking. All he knows is that he doesn't like it because it's really ridiculous. It was fortunate that Kenpachi Zaraki was not here, or that brutal commander would scorn him for the rest of his life.

Toushiro sighed. He felt the winter wind that he loved.

"Start!" exciting Angelina. And Toushiro poked hard onto the frozen ground. The December wind swept across his face, flying his white hair. For more than three months he was not in space. It was only in the imitation room of where it should be, in the open air, where it was surrounded by its natural elements. When he patrols at night guarding his Hogwarts, he does not have time to use his bankai. That's too risky. But right now, he could be in space without worrying about anything. He did not have to bother to use spirit particles aka reishi to be here. Nor does he need to bring up his ice wings for that.

"Well, it's flying good" Alicia commented. "Look at the balance.and he doesn't seem awkward to fly…"

"It's good, Hitsugaya!" exclaim Angelina hard. "We'll let go of the Snitch and the Bludger! You have to catch Snitch in five minutes with Bludger bothering you! Fred and George will be temporary Beaters for your selection!"

Toushiro. But there is no time to protest. A steel ball shot straight at him, forcing him to make a sharp turn.

All right if they want that…

Toushiro ducked down on his broom, slashing Alicia's broom nimbly avoiding the two Bludgers who were hit alternately by the Weasley twins to prevent him from obtaining the Golden Snitch. Five minutes to get that little golden ball? And the Bludger slide is quite fast, but the arrow in Quincy named Uryuu Ishida alone can be avoided.

Toushiro looked around for a golden glint among the white of the snow that was falling slowly in front of him. He does not need to see the direction of the two Bludgers; his instincts as a shinigami are trained as a radar to detect objects that approach him. This benefits him, as he can focus on finding the Snitch, who turns out to fly low near the goalpost at the corner of the field. Soon he shot towards her. He was agile from Bludger who tried to hit him from the right. He managed to turn just in time as another Bludger tried to break his nose. And then, with a bullet-like glide, he rounded the goalpost and clasped the tiny golden ball that flapped its tiny wings desperately in his hand.

Loud cheers sounded from down there. Immediately Toushiro flew low and drifted smoothly in front of the Gryffindor children. Fred and George landed behind him looking complacent, swinging their hitters in style.

"What do you think, Captain?" asked George grin.

Angelina smiled brightly. "That's great! I can't believe you're new to flying; you're talented! Want to join the team, Hitsugaya?"

Toushiro stared around him, at the hopeful faces of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Arrested Ichigo's excited nod. He also breathed. If this meant he could fly again, it didn't seem to be too much of a loss either.

"All right," he said at last. "I want to."

All the team members laughed happily. "Welcome to Gryffindor Team, Hitsugaya!"

The evening is the last LD meeting before the Christmas holidays. Harry arrived at the Room of Requirement first, thankfully. He found the room decorated with mistletoe and golden balls depicting his own face. There's no need to be a genius to know who did it if he knows Dobby the house fairy. And so, he spent five minutes taking down all those golden balls, not wanting to embarrass himself.

Eventually, one by one the members of the LD sprang up. Angelina, Alicia, and Katie walked up to him, looking very serious.

"Well," Angelina said as she threw her coat into the corner of the room, "we've finally replaced you."

"Replace me?" harry asked confused.

"Yes. You and Fred and George!" angelina is impatient. "We've got a new Seeker!"

"Who?" ask Harry immediately.

"The new boy," said Alicia, "Toushiro Hitsugaya."

Harry was shocked. A toushiro? Since when did he become interested in Quidditch?

"I know what you're thinking" said Angelina, pulling out her wand and stretching her arms. "But he's pretty good, actually even gifted in nature."

"Yeah, the fly is perfect. I can't believe he said he'd never flown before" Katie added.

Just then Toushiro walks into the Room of Requirement with Ichigo, apparently having a serious conversation in Japanese. Soon some children who had come to look at them with interest, curious what they were talking about.

"Then the Beater?" ask Harry.

"Andrew Kirke" said Angelina unenthusiastic, "and Jack Sloper. None of them were brilliant, but compared to the other idots that appeared…"

Harry is saved from Angelina's irritated gaze as Hermione recalls the time the training began. He saw that all the members had gathered, so he left this stress-making conversation and faced his friends.

"Okay," he said getting the attention of everyone. "I think our mini mala is just repeating what we've learned. There's no point in starting something new before a three-week vacation…"

"We didn't learn anything new?" zacharias Smith said, his slow grunts were heard throughout the room. "You know this I didn't come."

"We're sorry Harry didn't tell you, then," Ichigo said loudly. Some of the children laughed at her, while Zacharias scowled angrily.

"Then, we train in pairs as usual. First we practice the Transverse Spell, then spread out the pillows to practice the Dope Spell…"

The evening training went well. Harry was happy to see all his friends progressing, even Neville. In fact, Toushiro already looked rather bored. He performs a spell on Ichigo with a somewhat tired look but on target. Perhaps all these repeated spells were too easy for the genius.

Finally the meeting was over as well. Harry promises that after the holidays, he will teach more challenging spells, such as Patronus. This makes his friends very happy, impatiently waiting for the holidays to start and end.

"You didn't tell me you were going to take the selection," Hermione said as they, the Gryffindor boys, walked together to the Gryffindor Tower; harry was still in the Room of Requirement to clear the room.

"indeed not. Ron's twin brother forced me to come along, Kurosaki that too…"

"Lho, you didn't reject it either, did you?" ichigo said in self-defense. "Where can it be if your compensation can fly…"

"Eh? Didn't you say you'd never flown before?" ask George.

"Indeed no," said Toushiro flatly, glaring at Ichigo with a warning look.

"Yeah, but he likes high places," Ichigo said improvising. "When he flies, he'll be taller than anyone.. Hence, Toushiro, stop always being serious, I think that's what makes you little begi-OUCH!"

Intentionally, Toushiro kicked Ichigo's back walking in front of him and fell down. Ron and the twins laughed loudly at him.

This became a conclusive proof and reminder to anyone that height problems are taboo for a Toushiro Hitsugaya.

Grumbling, Ichigo got up. But he looked at Toushiro's tense expression.

"Why you?" ask Ichigo astonished. But a second later he realized something was wrong. There is only one thing that makes a shinigami in disguise go directly offensive. Their natural enemies. Hollows.

"What's wrong?" ask Neville for wonder.

"No," said Toushiro. "I just remembered I had an appointment with Urahara-sensei about his lesson plan. I think I should go see him now. Let me take care of this, Kurosaki. See you all." And Toushiro turned around, leaving quickly to leave them. Ichigo must admire how the white hair quickly hides his expression. Maybe it is true that being a shinigami must be good at acting.

"School plan?" ask Fred wonder. "'This is going to be a vacation!"

"Hehehe," Ichigo said, chuckling stiffly, "You know, Urahara sensei, he's a freak…"

Meanwhile, Toushiro moved quickly to get out of the castle. Luckily he did not meet anyone who would prevent him from coming to the hollow. Nope. Not hollow. Reiatsu this big. It's Arrancar.

"Hyourinne." Toushiro called out his zanpakuto name, and immediately his form returned to what it should have been. His shinigami. And then, he rushed shunpo into the Forbidden Forest, where he felt the air of presence he had to eliminate.

"Ah. I'm flattered a shinigami instantly kindly welcomes me."

Toushiro. From behind the dimness and tightness of the forest trees, a foreign man stepped forward. Hakama white. A tyrannical face featuring a savage line and a shoulder-length blonde head partially covered in a white mask horned like a bull.

Is correct. An Arrancar.
