"Ehem, ahem."
They all stared at Umbridge, who was smiling at her usual frog. Harry hated the impression of accusation in his eyes.
"It's interesting" she commented sweetly. "But I don't see the things you teach clearly. The duel was too short…"
"That's why I never paired Kurosaki-san or Hitsugaya-san with anyone else. Not because they are discriminatory, but because they are on a different level. In fact," Urahara opened his fan and hid a part of his face behind it, "I thought I couldn't beat them easily."
Ichigo snorted small.
"In that case, I wish I could see that difference" Umbridge said as sweet as honey.
And Harry was sure he could see an odd glint in Urahara's eyes that blocked the shadow of his wide hat.
Urahara smile. "Well if you force." Urahara stood upright "You see, Professor, I have four katanas," Urahara pointed at the four traditional Japanese swords lying in a glass box along the wall in front of the class. Urahara said that all katanas are real, but there are only decorations. "The place is made of the best steel, forged by the best katana makers in Japan since centuries ago. I brought them to Hogwarts as a display, considering they were hard to come by, not expensive, and needed extra care. Therefore I placed a special kidou spell on all four, so that no one could take the katana but me. If you allow me to use real weapons to demonstrate the skill of the witch Shinou, do you mind if me and my opponent use those swords?"
Umbridge shook her head, though she seemed a little hesitant.
"Good!" urahara said cheerfully, as if he had managed to solve the problem. "Hitsugaya-san, go. We're dueling!"
Many children looked at Urahara or Toushiro, surprised. Between the orange hair and the white hair that was his choice, why did the eccentric teacher choose the white hair? Everyone knows, if you look at Umbridge, that the sorceress intends to research and find the fault of the new teacher. And to do such a serious duel, Urahara chose that little one? Just be right! Toushiro just got out of the hospital a while ago! Now has the duel been challenged?! Wear the real sword, anyway!
"Well, Hitsugaya-san, choose your favorite sword," Urahara said casually.
"Are you sure, Sensei?" toushiro asked, his voice sounded miserable. Harry was convinced that his sense of prey was not because he could not, but because of Umbridge's presence.
"Of course," said Urahara kalem. "I also need to know if you still have the same dexterity after a long time in Shinou with all that training. Come on, pick the katana!"
Toushiro. Her healthy eyes stared at the four katanas in the glass box in front of the classroom with great judgment. He looked at Urahara. "Third katana from the right."
All eyes stared at the weapon in question. Toushiro chose the longest katana; at least 1.4 meters in length. Many children were wide in shock and some of Slytherin's children laughed mockingly. But Urahara nodded, as if agreeing to his choice and walked towards the glass chest while muttering. Unmistakably, he was casting a spell to release his protective energy. Urahara then opened the cover glass, and took the katana with two hands as if it was a very valuable item, then brought it to Toushiro.
A soft crackling sounded as Toushiro received the katana, then held it with one hand.
"Remember, Hitsugaya-san, if you want to fight with me, you need to do it seriously…"
"When he's not serious" Ichigo chirped loudly, while Urahara walked towards another glass chest to pick up a katana for him, which was not as long as Toushiro had chosen but slightly wider.
"The attack with all the abilities you can," said Urahara, his tone relaxed, but Harry could see Urahara's eyes a little wild as he looked at the other students. "I want the others – including you, Professor – standing on the sidelines; I'll create a protective kidou so that our duel doesn't hurt you either."
Soon the kids get out of the way, get to the wall. Umbridge also pulled over, staring at Urahara and Toushiro who were in the middle of the room; toushiro carried the still-sealed katana on his back, supporting him with a fine bronze chain, which was a bronze, while Urahara slipped it on the obi on his waist. The Japanese Master of Classical Defense Methods recites an unknown kido spell, forming a beam-shaped veil around them.
Urahara looked at his petite opponent. "You can't beat me unless you want to. But if you want it too much, be careful if it swallows you."
"I know," said Toushiro flatly, his right eye narrowed in alarm.
"Well, let's see what a genius like you can do, Hitsugaya-san."
The teacher and disciple were standing in the middle of the room, bounded from all of them by a veil of energy. The two faced each other, gazing warily at each other as if guessing who attacked first. Urahara's right hand floated to the katana handle on his waist, while Toushiro gripped the katana handle he was on; both were ready to take off.
And then, with a very fast movement, Urahara darted forward, accompanied by a flash of silver. Many girls screamed to see the katana Urahara swinging dangerously. But then, clangs of clashing swords rang out; Toushiro pulled his katana very quickly – barely seen – successfully fended off Urahara's weapon, splashing sparks into the air.
"That's great," said Urahara, smiling. "But you need more than that!"
Toushiro frowned, concentrating. With an unexpected force possessed by such a small body, Toushiro pushed Urahara with his katana, forcing the blond teacher to retreat.
"4th Hadou: Byakurai."
Toushiro realized the kidou was just in time. He moved nimbly – with his lightning steps dodging the spell, making the hadou explosion puncture the floor. As if undaunted, Urahara fired at the Byakurai many times at random, which Toushiro successfully avoided with his shunpo that the eyes of the young witches could not see.
"How did he do it?" dean asked in shock.
"Practice," said Ichigo kalem.
Toushiro took an act of aggression. He stopped avoiding her, but that doesn't mean he's giving up. Before Urahara could fire another spell, Toushiro lunged forward, his sword drawn.
Trang!
"Ah," Urahara said, staring at the tiny young man in front of him who was gripping the hilt of his sword tightly, "i envy young people; they have more energy."
"You attacked first before anyone even said start" said Toushiro flatly. "It's rude."
Urahara made a slashing move, but Toushiro managed to hold it back. "You're too polite to fight; no one asked for permission to kill in the fight, son, there's just a statement, like," Harry heard Urahara's tone change, flat, emotionless, make the feather stand up, "I'll kill you."
Harry shuddered at the hearing of that. And he's sure he's not the only one.
"The 31st Hadou: Shakkaho!"
Urahara stood up, his left hand pointing forward, as if welcoming the fireball. "The 37th Bakudou: Tsuriboshi!"
A star-like shield with irregular sides appeared in front of Urahara, holding off the explosion from the spell Toushiro had fired. And then, all of a sudden the white hair was already behind Urahara, his katana swinging.
Urahara saw the attack coming through the corner of his eyes, immediately moving agilely to avoid it.
"Toushiro is small, I think that's why he chose the long katana as a weapon. That would give it a wider range of attacks" Ichigo told friends. "In addition, he's a kidou…"
The double!
They all looked shocked. Urahara kicked Toushiro backwards until he hit the kidou wall with a loud crackling. Harry saw Umbridge resisting his urge to smile, which he did not because Toushiro was standing, his sword raised, ready. It was just that, Harry saw there was a blood patch on the corner of his lips, which he ignored completely.
"Maybe you should look with two eyes, Hitsugaya-san," said Urahara cheerfully. "And your hand-to-hand combat techniques still need to be trained."
Toushiro did not answer, already darting like a jet with a katana unsheathed.
Draco Malfoy was glued to the spot. It was wrong. Wrong big. Toushiro Hitsugaya is not a child who only has brain capital. Not just good looking. In Urahara's class, right now, he saw that white hair was more than that. He was a fighter, with physical abilities and skills that only he could dream of. Never imagined the transfer boy could keep up with the strange teacher of the Japanese Classical Defense Method. If Urahara attacked, he fended off, or vice versa, and those were the movements he could see from that duel. A dynamic synchronization of movements, as if done by professionals. It was as if the two were dancing a deadly sword dance. The clang of the clashing swords, the sound of blows when blows collide, the swish of the fabric when the owner moves agilely, or the flashes and smoke that appear after the kidou spells collide through the duel.
Just then, the katana Urahara snatched. Some girls screamed in shock; splashes of blood floated in the air. They saw Toushiro jumping backwards, taking some distance from his opponent.
"Ups," said Urahara, sounding rather amused. They saw Toushiro wiping his scratched left cheek and bleeding. Urahara's sword wounded him. Oh, not only that. The eyepatch straps were cut off because of it.
"You know," said Toushiro sharply, pulling off his blindfold. Many children were shocked. The hollow claw the other day left three scars on the left side of Toushiro's face. The three, which are at least seven centimeters long, are vertically cut across their eyelids, extending from the top of their eyebrows to reach their cheekbones. Without his eyepatch anyone would get the impression that the flaw made Toushiro a little scary, plus his eyes were now getting colder. "I don't want to go to the hospital anymore."
"Then how about we stop playing around?" the word Urahara seemed to offer lollipops to five-year-olds. "At the same time, it seems you need a means to channel the excess stress out of your mind."
"Oh, yeah." Toushiro stepped on his damaged eyepatch. "And I see you with two eyes now."
"An honor."
Toushiro came back. Draco sees the little guy's movements as faster and more aggressive than before. Without the eyepatch covering the terrible scar, he was plagued with inexplicable anxiety and fear. Potter may have a lightning-shaped scar that he can use like a crown, making people amazed to hear his story with Lord Voldemort. That's nauseating. However, the scars that Hitsugaya has are much different (he is). He saw and sensed how Toushiro Hitsugaya was frightening him now. The expression from his broken face gave him the same horror when he saw the Dark Lord appear at his door. How Hitsugaya swung his sword made him see how the white hair could transform into…
… a…
… executor.
"… stop them."
Draco heard Umbridge speak. His smile and childish tone vanished. The expression on the face of the Great Inquisitor seemed stiff, disapproving of the increasingly serious fight between Toushiro and Urahara.
"No," Draco hears Kurosaki answering Umbridge with hazel eyes leading up to the duel. "I can't break his protective kidou. After all, interrupting someone else's fight was extremely disrespectful."
"What did you say?" ask Umbridge not to believe it
"After all if I were you, I wouldn't want to separate this duel. Who wants to die young? After all, they'll stop on their own, really, until one of them loses, or draws."
"But it's dangerous!" hermione said, looking anxious half-dead until her face was deathly pale.
"Even though Urahara said Toushiro had to attack him in earnest, he also knew it was just a duel, so don't worry, no one will die" Ichigo said kalem.
And it turned out, that duel had already reached its final round. The focus of Toushiro and Urahara's fight is now a fierce swordfight. Harry saw the duel not only leave the floor damaged by the collision of spells or sword scratches. Toushiro's kimono was torn off at part of his arm, and Urahara's wide hat had already fallen off with a torn slash mark and charred at the edge.
They were all glued to – except Ichigo – saw Urahara firing Hyapporankan. Toushiro successfully dodged those light spears with his shunpo, and moved quickly with the katana swinging towards Urahara's neck. But Urahara moved very quickly, as if disappearing, and just appeared behind Toushiro. The white hair noticed too late; urahara's hand pointed his katana sharp blade at Toushiro's neck from behind in a locking position.
"No," Ichigo said slowly. "Series."
"Ah," Urahara smiled faintly. "Related, as usual." They just realized it. There is a pentagon-like symbol formed, with Toushiro and Urahara being the center. The corners of the pentagon glowed bluish. "I didn't expect you to dodge my attack while setting a trap; it was so neat that I couldn't detect it. Don't wanna die alone, eh?"
"Don't be stupid," said Toushiro flatly. "Kidou won't be strong enough to kill you. It's just gonna hurt you a little bit. Wanna try?"
"No ah. I still want to look cute," said Urahara cheerfully, letting go of Toushiro. The pentagon symbol slowly disappeared. Urahara removed the lid of his kidou, then walked towards Umbridge who stood frozen and the children who were half-awakened were half-fearful. Behind him, Toushiro returned the sword blade to his container, and stood beside Urahara.
"Good," said Ichigo, as if to comment on his duel. "But I was hoping you'd burn the hat all over."
Toushiro shrugged his shoulders.
"What-what do you think you taught the Shinou students?!" peeker Umbridge, her face was like a pale purplish toad. Urahara looked at him with astonished looks, while Ichigo and Toushiro exchanged meaningful glances. "Can't be tolerated! You print the killers!"
Toushiro's hand gripped the handle of the katana in his hand. His horrible expression reappeared. Harry was astonished to see Umbridge could stand his cold eyes.
"Professor Umbridge," said Urahara calmly. We've already discussed this. The system in Shinou is different from Hogwarts…"
"The Minister will know about this" Umbridge said in her most dangerously sweet voice. The Golden Trio exchanged a restless look. This could be dangerous.
"What?" toushiro's voice rose, his tone sharp. "You're reporting just because we have a different way to you? Can I also report if I find out that there is magic that can break the human soul which is forbidden by Shinou and-"
"Hitsugaya-san," Urahara said, there was a warning tone in his calm voice. Toushiro was speechless, yet his eyes looked extremely irritated. The eccentric teacher looked back at Umbridge, still with a very calm demeanor. "You can do what you want. But I suggest you re-read the contract the Ministry agreed with me."
Proudly, Umbridge left the Urahara class. But when he got to the door, he stopped and said, "The results of your inspection will give me another week."
"I will wait for him" said Urahara cheerfully. And Umbridge was gone.
"You really know how to make trouble" said Hitsugaya sharply, in Japanese, making other children look at him in wonder. "Do you know this is gonna make things difficult for all of us? You gotta stop playing around like this."
"I'm just testing how much influence the Ministry has in our plans" Urahara said calmly, also in Japanese. "Don't worry, I'll take care of him. I won't involve anyone, not the Soul Society plan."
Toushiro sighed in frustration. "I don't know how to talk to you."
"The logic of this man is questionable indeed" Ichigo commented. He was always astonished at Urahara's attitude, as if the world was always on his side. Perhaps this was the side effect of struggling with all the research in his laboratory during his time in Seireitei. Looks like there's a mixture of substances that somehow has an effect on his mindset. He now agrees a hundred percent with Toushiro: don't go near Division 12 if you want your brain to be okay.
Draco listened to the conversation he did not understand in surprise, as did the other children. But he doesn't care much. How Hitsugaya spoke to Umbridge was what brought hubris back to his control. Hitsugaya that, can talk to a Ministry employee without fear, let alone reluctance. It even blatantly shows his dislike. Just because he could compensate for the duel with that strange teacher, didn't mean he could be arrogant just like that!
"Huh, you can be this arrogant now, Hitsugaya," Draco scorned loudly. "If Mr. Minister finds out, you know you'll get in trouble." Some of Slytherin's children chuckled amusedly, agreeing.
"This won't be my first time dealing with a dirty bureaucracy, then," Hitsugaya said coldly.
Draco Malfoy can only look at the white hair with hate, although he also does not really understand what it means to 'dealing with dirty bureaucracy'.
After all, he could no longer do anything. He doesn't need Ichigo Kurosaki's warning to bother Toushiro anymore.
After Urahara's lesson, he did not expect Ichigo to wait for all his friends to leave first – including Toushiro – just to intercept him in the lesson to the Mantra class with his Slytherin friends. Of course Crabbe and Goyle were immediately on the defensive, threatening Ichigo with their gorilla muscles. Ichigo ignores them, and only looks at Draco coldly.
"We need to talk" he said flatly.
"Talk," Draco said, not caring.
"You've seen what Toushiro can do in Urahara's class" Ichigo said coldly. "and if you want to know, I can too. But I don't want to waste my energy and you also definitely don't want you and your friends to beat me to a pulp." Ichigo flicked his head towards the corridor to the Spell class, a sign that the other Slytherin children could leave him.
"Just go" Draco told his friends. "Let me know what she wants."
Slytherin's children leave, throwing suspicious glances at Ichigo. The orange hair waited until the last child disappeared at the end of the corridor, which was now only the two of them, before staring at Malfoy. Ichigo is happy to descend the tall genes from his father, he can see Malfoy intimidated by his towering figure higher than him.
"What do you want?"
Ichigo held back his grin. Great also Draco Malfoy, he can speak with a haughty tone when his face began to pale.
"Did Hitsugaya tell you to come?"
Ichigo grunting. "He won't come to you to ask what you've done to him."
"What?" Malfoy looked at him in surprise.
"He forgives too easily" Ichigo growled. He recalled his conversation about Malfoy with Toushiro a few nights earlier. "You saw what happened, what her fear was, she wasn't who you thought she was…"
"so. Then why?" snapper Draco. "He was afraid to see the people around him dying and…"
"Don't talk like you know more than he does" Ichigo growled. "You don't know anything about him! You don't know what he's been through!"
"Then what do you care? What care? That's not-"
Ichigo pushes Malfoy, making him hit the wall. Malfoy looked at Ichigo in great shock, his hazel eyes filled with anger.
"What exactly is your problem?" ichigo said in a low voice.
"W-what…?"
"Why are you trying to make Toushiro suffer?" ask Ichigo coldly. "I know you made Neville spill tea on Toushiro, got him spell-stricken.You also pranked Neville on several occasions to keep him away from Toushiro, too, then you tried to publicly humiliate him with that Boggart.... What do you really want?!"
"That's none of your business" muttered Malfoy.
"It's none of my business? It's my business because you're bothering my friend!"
Ichigo stepped back. He saw Draco Malfoy's face change. He looks hurt. A strange grin appeared on his pale face, and as he spoke, he trembled somewhat.
"You're pure blood," said Draco quietly, "and how can you be friends with mud blood like Hitsugaya.." Draco snorted, as if laughing at the irony he experienced. He has everything. Treasure, honor, his status in the magic community were high-ranking. All witches will be disinclined by the name of Malfoy. Everyone will bow to him. But, it was because of the blood that was in his veins. "Even mud blood has a friend defending it. All I have is a sickening sycophant troll."
Replace the shocked Ichigo. "What-what?"
Malfoy looked up, looking at the astonished Ichigo. "I heard from my father," Ichigo could hear the bitterness when Draco said 'my father', "if Hitsugaya was only an adopted child, but I saw the man care about him." Surely what Draco meant was Ukitake, Ichigo thought. "He had a father who cared about him, but he was just mud blood! All I have is a father who only cares about his own name! Hitsugaya is afraid of death, and I'm pathetic! What I'm afraid of is what my father would say if I failed!"
"So," said Ichigo, after a moment of silence, and his anger evaporated. "this is only because you envy him?"
Malfoy refused to look at Ichigo. Ichigo let out a breath. How did he know that he even got 'surhatan' like this…
Wait for.
Rather than hate him, I think I pity him more.
So, this is what Toushiro means. The 10th Division commander was already one step ahead of him. He had understood why Draco Malfoy had acted offensively on him. He has cursed it. This is the reason why he forgave her.
"Basic," lamented Ichigo. "Where can I be angry more than this. If anyone has that right, Toushiro is the one. But he wouldn't do that, let alone repay you."
Draco looked at Ichigo, greatly astonished and surprised.
"He guessed exactly why you were hostile to him." Draco looked very surprised. "Another proof of his genius. What is clear and what I know, you will not bother him anymore he is already – and probably will – a lot of things are quite bad without having to be added by your childish behavior. Life's been tough, you don't bother to tease her."
Ichigo turned around.
"How can you keep defending him?" draco asked furiously before Ichigo passed.
Ichigo stopped, looking at Malfoy through his shoulder. "'And I told you he was my friend. Actually, I also consider him like my own brother."
Draco was glued to the spot, while Ichigo had already disappeared from before him.
Yep. Is correct. He is jealous of Toushiro Hitsugaya.
Now, he envies Ichigo Kurosaki. Pure blood, and no one forbade him to be friends with anyone.
Ichigo walked over quickly, rushing to Transfiguration class without changing the uniform of the Japanese Classical Defense Method class. Luckily McGonagall was kind enough to let her freshmen come from Urahara class without a Hogwarts uniform because there was not enough time to change uniforms. During his walk down the corridor, Ichigo noticed that his respect for the petite commander increased by several levels (but he would still call the white hair by his first name. Wh why? Because even though Toushiro is obviously older than him, it still does not cover the fact that he looks younger and shorter than him). Toushiro thought before acting to avenge Draco Malfoy's treatment of her, and was wise not to be rude to him. Ichigo argues that it was the most graceful way of revenge he had ever seen, the duel of Toushiro Hitsugaya versus Draco Malfoy.
Fighters only talk by fighting, right?
