Wizard and Deat Reaper: Hogwarts

Wizard and Deat Reaper: Hogwarts
Chapter 8's

When all the children had finished eating and the noise came out all over the Hall, Dumbledore once again rose. The buzzing of the conversation instantly tehenti and everyone looked at Dumbledore who was smiling kindly at everyone.

Dumbledore made several announcements, the first of which was the ban on the indiscriminate use of magic. The disciples were also forbidden from entering the Forbidden Forest, and some other prohibitions could be seen on the list affixed to Mr Filch's office door."

That has been an open secret to all students, the old especially, that the list was just a waste of parchment and ink, in vain at all.

"There have been some changes in the staff of teachers this year. And of course I've already introduced the teacher to a new subject this year, the Japanese Classical Defense Method by Professor Urahara. But earlier he said he preferred to be called Urahara sensei." Dumbledore gave a polite nod to Kisuke, who replied with a carefree smile at the entire Hall. Although Ichigo turned his back on him, it was undeniable that everyone thought that the new teacher was quite pleasant. "We are delighted to welcome back Professor Grubbly-Plank, who will be teaching Unseen Animal Maintenance. We're also excited to introduce Professor Umbridge, the new master of Defense of the Black Arts."

There was a polite but unenthusiastic applause.

"Trial members of the Quidditch team of each hostel will be held at…"

Dumbledore stopped suddenly in the middle of the sentence, looking at Umbridge curiously. Ichigo and Toushiro frowned at the witch whose frog face revealed a strange smile, reminding them of a frog ready to catch flies flying nearby. It turned out that Umbridge had cleared his throat to draw Dumbledore's attention, that he would deliver a short speech. Dumbledore sat down, and Umbridge stood, with hardly any difference. Even Ichigo believes Toushiro is taller than the witch.

"Thank you, Principal," he said in a shrill, sighing voice, like a child. "For a warm welcome. Well, it's nice to go back to Hogwarts and see happy little faces looking up at me!"

Umbridge looked over the entire Hall while showing off her pointed teeth. It was surprising to Ichigo that everything was addressed as if they were five-year-olds. After all, no one who put on a happy face, was astonished because it was addressed like that. It goes without saying that Toushiro's expression was the same as when he found Rangiku Matsumoto stoned after downing twenty bottles of sake among the mountains of paperwork he did not work on.

Afterwards, Umbridge left a childish tone in her voice, and spoke more formally which made it boring to make a speech. No one seemed to bother listening, except for the teachers, Hermione Granger, and unsurprisingly, Toushiro. Ichigo looked around. The children started to mutter in the chat. As he looked at the teacher's desk, Kisuke was also looking at him, then glancing at Umbridge and his lips moved, uttering, 'creepy old hag' without a sound. Ichigo grunts amusedly.

"Thank you very much, Professor," said Dumbledore, finally, after the speech ended with a late applause from the children. "Your speech gives a clear picture. Well, like I said earlier about the Quidditch team members' trials…"

"Yeah, it does give a clear picture" Hermione remarked grimly.

"You didn't mean to say you enjoyed the speech, did you?" ron said slowly. "That's the most boring speech I've ever heard, even though I grew up with Percy."

"He said that he was listening, not enjoying, Weasley," said Toushiro flatly, making Ron wince in dislike. He never liked to be called Weasley, considering there were three other people who were also called so by the white hair, he said, and it's weird because if they're in the same place and turn their heads together when they're called. "But I agree with the 'boring' part, and Granger, you were right about giving a clear picture."

"And what does that mean?" ask Ichigo.

"The Ministry of Magic is trying to take over Hogwarts" Toushiro said flatly

After that, all they knew was that Dumbledore had invited them back to their respective dorms. Ichigo and Toushiro remain in place, until all the children have left the Hall, including Umbridge, thankfully. Ichigo and Toushiro move to the teacher's desk, approaching Urahara.

"Why are you here?!" ask Ichigo immediately. The teachers who were there looked at Ichigo in surprise.

"That's a bit disrespectful, you know, son," commented Flitwick, while McGonagall waved her wand at the Hall, casting a spell so that no one would steal the conversation.

"There's no need for too much formality for him" Ichigo grumbled.

"I'm actually expecting a friendly welcome from you two. Well, I didn't expect much from you, actually, Hitsugaya-san."

Toushiro. "Why are you here?"

"You guys are very compact, asking the same question," said Yoruichi, jumping onto Urahara's shoulder, surprising the witches.

"How can the cat talk?" ask Sprout confused.

"He was just like us, shinigami, just that he developed the ability to transform into a cat" Urahara said. "But nobody said anything about this. We both decided to make it a secret weapon."

"'He'?" McGonagall looked at the cat. "Women?"

"Yep" said the black cat; the heavy male voice he used as camouflage was dubious. "My name is Yoruichi Shihouin, by the way."

"Ah, yeah, about that, it shouldn't be long la-"

A familiar ringing sound was heard suddenly from the direction of Toushro. Frowning unsatisfied, the white hair reached into the pocket in his robe, taking out his twinkling Soul Pager.

"Tell me what, too" said Urahara cheerfully.

"Explain to them and the Supreme Commander who will explain it to me" furious Toushiro, then stepped aside to the lower steps to answer his call.

"I thought Muggle communication didn't work at Hogwarts" commented Professor Vector.

"Indeed yes. But it's not a Muggle communication tool. The Soul Pager, made in Division 12, of Soul Society. Magic does not affect its work. So, Kurosaki-san, do you want an explanation? Okay, look," Urahara turned to the teachers, and began to explain.

It turned out that Seireitei was getting reports of an increase in the number of hollows in Hueco Mundo, which was spearheaded by the rest of Aizen's Arrancar creations that became his loyal followers. They all join forces to take revenge on Seireitei and free Aizen who was imprisoned in Mugen for two thousand years. Given this could be a serious problem, since the Arrancar unfortunately knew about Voldemort and magic and allied with him, it made the work of the shinigami complicated.

"Similar to when Arrancar first appeared in Karakura and Seireitei sent one team to guard the entire city," Urahara said casually behind his fan. "According to Kyouraku-san they also have other goals, only we don't know what they are yet. They also sent another team, under the command of Commander Hirako to investigate the matter, at Hueco Mundo. So because as you know the number of shinigami is drastically reduced after the last bloody war, I was the one who was sent to come and be your back-up! Nice, eh?" he added with a triumphant smile.

"Not at all" Ichigo said sharply, while the teachers who analyzed Urahara's remarks looked at Ichigo in surprise.

"Oh, so you can do that now. In a really not sweet student at all, ne, Yoruichi?" The cat agreed.

"Given you're supposed to look after Karakura, you're the one here…"

"There's nothing to worry about for Karakura! They've got a Vizard, a Quincy, some people with supernatural abilities one of whom is your sister-the-old-the-more-you-the-you-and don't forget Tessai, and your father."

"Good points," said Toushiro, riding the steps while stuffing his Soul Pager into his pocket. His expression was no longer as I was. "If you stay I hope you understand how to tread carefully around Dolores Umbridge, whether I feel like I need to tell you or not."

"I'll be a good teacher" Urahara said, smiling calmly.

"Japan's Classical Defense Method," said Toushiro, looking at Urahara and Dumbledore alternately. "Through Umbridge's speech, what I'm arresting is that he will oversee all the teacher's performance to suit the Ministry's wishes. The book The Theory of Defense Magic that I read shows that this year's Defense Against the Dark Arts is theory-based"

"You're a good observer" Urahara commented.

"And the subjects you teach are practice, right" said Toushiro sharply, as if there were no interruptions. The teachers looked at Toushiro and Urahara in turn, capturing the meaning of Toushiro's words.

"Hohoho, don't worry about that, Hitsugaya-san," Urahara said casually. "I've thought of everything. You guys need to keep your abilities, right?"

"Don't tell me you mean to teach the four basic skills"

"Of course not! They're witches, not shinigami. Just teach me some Japanese-style self-defense, if you know what I mean."

Ichigo and Toushiro exchanged looks. They know what that means. All right, he's a former 12th Division commander and has brains. Urahara knew what to do.

"I think tonight's enough here" said Dumbledore kindly. "You two can go back to the Gryffindor Tower now, because tomorrow you will start with Hogwarts academic activities.'

Toushiro agreed. He looked at Urahara. "We'll talk again tomorrow."

"When you want, Hitsugaya-san."

After McGonagall breaks her anti-tapper spell, and tells the keyword to for the Fat Lady's painting, the two shinigami exit the Great Hall to head to the Gryffindor Tower.
