Chapter 16

Chapter 16:

"Naeva!" call Abellard as soon as she gets to Wisteria Castle.

Naeva, who was accompanying the emissary from Marseille, looked confused. Abellard came in a hurry with a pale face.

"What's wrong?" ask the girl.

"We need to get to Marseille now!"

"We? Meanin?"

"Yes, us! You must come with me" Abellard replied still with a hunting breath.

"Richard .. I mean Abellard, I don't understand what you mean. What am I going there for? You can come visit this castle anytime."

"No, you have to come with me, I can't leave you here because the hit man will hurt you."

"Monsieur, we can't take him without the Countess' permission," Dupon interrupted with a worried face.

"If I can't bring her along, then I won't be back either!" abellard.

"Abellard ...."

"Naeva, come with me! You have to believe what I just saw!" cut off the man while looking into Naeva's eyes in earnest.

Naeva got up from her chair and followed Abellard's steps leading to the sitting room.

"What did you just see?" ask Naeva curious.

"I was just from the market, and met the people who were hunting my life five months ago. They're still looking for me!"

Naeva's face turned tense hearing Abellard's explanation.

"And I heard that if they intend to kidnap you to force me to meet them, and then they'll kill us both!"

Naeva felt her throat choked. He could imagine how dangerous the hit man was.

But why would the man who told them to still insist on killing an Abellard?

"It looks like the person who told them to finish me off holds a huge grudge. I don't know what I've done in the past" Abellard said, as if she knew what Naeva was thinking. "Therefore, I can't let you stay here, Naeva!"

"But your family won't accept me."

"Why not? You're a good girl, and you're my lifesaver, Naeva. How could they refuse your arrival?"

Naeva breathed heavily.

"You won't understand. But that's my gut feeling," he groaned bitterly.

"Naeva, I will not return without you" Abellard said.

Naeva fell silent, and then Marc and Adam appeared.

"What Monsieur Comte said was true, M'mselle. We have no defenses in this castle. There is only a wall fence with an old gate" said Adam.

"I'll come with you to Marseille!" hatch Marc.

"You? Coming?" abellard asked with a frowning forehead. No matter how familiar they were, Marc was still a rival in Abellard's eyes.

"Yes, I won't leave M'mselle alone in a foreign city. I'm afraid your attitude towards M'mselle will change once your memory returns."

Naeva also thinks the same as Marc. Abellard would probably hate him. He also believes that the Marseille family will not accept his presence. His heart would be calmer if Marc was together. After all, there was always Marc accompanying wherever he went.

"But you can't leave everything here, Marc," Naeva said hesitantly.

"What's wrong M'mselle, our hearts will be calmer if Marc comes along. Because otherwise, Emma would have forced her to accompany you, and my wife would just be your burden, M'mselle," Adam said.

"Yes, here is Edward. He is reliable" Marc said with hope. His heart would really not be calm, if it could not accompany his miss.

"You don't have to worry, I'll keep Naeva living my own life." Abellard tries to convince her that enough of her will take care of Naeva.

But then her eyes turned to Naeva with a gaze filled with love, "but I want you to decide what makes you feel comfortable, I just want you not to stay here for some time, until I catch that group of assassins."

Moments later, all fell silent waiting for Naeva to make a decision.

"I'm ... going with Marc" replied the girl.

Marc smiled immediately when he heard it. While Abellard was quite calm with Naeva's decision to follow him to Marseille.

"I'll take care of them!" edward insists when Naeva leaves Emma, Anne, and Adam with him.

Naeva smiled haru, "yes, I'm sure you're a very responsible child, Edward!"

Emma was crying. The woman was completely unprepared to let Naeva go far. While Anne, busy preparing Naeva's belongings. His voice was so panicked, the girl repeatedly checked things, so that the lady was not lacking anything in a foreign city.

Naeva hugged the two women with a tight chest. They will not be separated forever, but for Naeva who was never far from her servant's family, felt the separation was quite stifling.

"We're all gonna be fine, M'mselle. We'll all regroup" comforted Emma, patting her on the back of her foster daughter.

"You can sleep in my room if you miss me, Anne" she said, gently stroking Anne's hair.

The girl who was one year younger than him just nodded.

Naeva then left her castle, with a convoy escorted by royal soldiers. She heard Anne's voice crying back there. It turned out that the girl was holding back her crying.

Naeva sighs softly.

Oh ... Farewell is always bad.

Naeva and Marc were placed in a different carriage to Abellard.

The carriage was closed, unlike Naeva's chariot.

The cover is made of black leather that will block the wind and warm the passengers. The seat is spacious and comfortable, Naeva can even lay down her body if she wants to sleep. But Marc prefers to sit next to the coachman.

"If you need anything, just call me, M'mselle!" marc from the outside.

"I'll be fine, Marc. No need to worry," answered Naeva.

The girl then opened her cover from the side and looked out. The orange color of the twilight sky instantly greeted his eyes. When it was entering summer, the air was still warm even though it was almost at night.

Naeva took a long breath. I don't know when I'll be back here. He never left his castle. Maybe later he will have difficulty facing a new atmosphere in Marseille. But Naeva will not give up. His departure to Marseille will be his struggle to unite with Abellard.

Three hours into the trip, the sky began to look dark.

The truck!

Suddenly the sound of something breaking sounded so loud from the back of his carriage. Naeva felt the train slowing down and then stopping.

"What's going on, Marc?" ask the girl while flipping the cover on the front.

"It looks like there's one train that broke its wheel, M'mselle."

"Ah, what a pity," sighed Naeva. "I want to see it, Marc"

"Well, M'mselle!" Marc swiftly got down and approached the side of the train to help the lady.

"No, Marc, I can do it myself. There are stairs," said the girl.

His eyes could not help but glance forward, at Abellard's carriage.

It turned out that the man had also come down from his carriage. Those dark blue eyes were looking at him full of longing. Making Naeva blush with hot cheeks.

The girl immediately turned her face to the back of her chariot, where another chariot had been standing lamely, because the other side of her wheel was broken.

Naeva saw Dupon had been by the side of the train.

But upon seeing the arrival of Abellard, the fat man quickly gave a signal to the coachman to continue the journey.

"Monsieur Comte, you can return to the train. We'll continue on our way."

Abellard.

"What about them?"

"They'll find a solution and follow."

"Can't be like that. How can we leave this part of the journey? We will both bear it!" abellard.

Dupon looked at the man in amazement. Unbelieving if his usual master was arrogant and selfish, it now turned fair and attentive.

"You sure, Monsieur?"

"Yes, of course. Is anyone good at fixing cars between you? We're a long way from the market."

"Sure, Monsieur. There are always experts coming along" Dupon replied happily.

Abellard's gaze turned on Naeva.

"While waiting for the train to be repaired, will you sit with me on the wood?" point Marc at a fallen tree beside the road.

The area is still surrounded by dense forest. Naeva once came to the forest with Marc to look for mushrooms.

Naeva nodded and followed in Abellard's footsteps.

Suddenly an idea flashed inside the girl's head. He will fulfill his promise to take Abellard to a place more beautiful than the forest behind the castle.

In this forest is the place. Naeva will make their togetherness later as the most beautiful memories before destiny separates.

"Abellard, I'll keep my promise that time. Is ... are you willing to come?"
