Bettor Mr. Nobles

Bettor Mr. Nobles
Chapter 28

Naeva looked uneasy inside the tower room alone. Sitting on the edge of the bed with fingers squeezing each other. Thinking about how Abellard felt about her attitude, she chose to sit next to Alfred.

He was afraid that Abellard would misunderstand again. The man never thought long. Always outspoken, enthusiastic and a little childish.

Naeva felt she had to explain her intention of dodging in the sitting room earlier.

The girl immediately went to the door. He's gonna find Abellard in the basement. I hope that man is there.

But his steps suddenly stopped. Then turn back and step towards the mirror. The large mirror framed in steel was engraved in gold color.

He stood in front of the mirror for a moment, doing nothing. His head bowed with a hesitant look. Somehow he felt he wanted to improve his appearance before meeting Abellard. But that feeling embarrassed him. Isn't it strange to improve his appearance now? Whereas back in Wisteria Castle, the man had even seen his worst performance.

Naeva bit her lip.

Maybe there's no harm in him ever looking neat.

Naeva nervously took

comb her and tidy up her dark brown hair that was still braided. He also took a pearl pin from his mother's Almarhumah jewelry box that Anne delivered. Then he put it in his hair.

The girl then stood up straight. Trying to judge his own appearance. It is not as beautiful as Lady Angelia who is like a fairy with brilliant and elegant diamond jewelry. But his own appearance doesn't feel too bad. The pearl clasp is the sweetest according to Naeva. Emma said that the clasp was also her mother's favorite.

As soon as she arrived before the door of the lower room, the girl seemed to catch her breath first before then knocking on the door quietly.

While waiting, Naeva squeezed her fingers again. He could not escape, that his heart often beats with a chaotic rhythm when he wants to meet Abellard in a serious situation like this.

The door then opened.

Naeva's eyes instantly bought, as she saw who was standing before her.

"Monsieur ... Lord Alfred?"

The man looked in amazement. Her eyes looked at Naeva. Then smile.

"It's funny that you call me Monsieur, and my title is Lord. You better call me by name, Alfred."

Naeva did not listen to Alfred. His mind was still focused on the fact that it was not Abellard who occupied the lower room.

"Why can you ... here?"

Alfred put both his hands into his pants pocket while looking at the beautiful face that looked confused before him.

"Before answering, I want to say in advance that you are very beautiful right now." Alfred then stepped inside, as if inviting Naeva to talk inside. "I'll stay here for a few days. And you, why are you in this dark tower?"

"I ... stayed in the upper room," answered Naeva, still at the door.

Alfred turned. "really?" asked the man with a surprised expression. Then smile. "I think we're a fool."

Naeva again felt uncomfortable with Alfred's attitude.

"I'll go back to the room. Until we meet again, Monsieur," Naeva bowed her body and hurriedly left. Afraid Alfred would ask his point of knocking on the door of the room. He did not know whether the man was still watching him or not, for sure he had not heard the sound of the door closing.

***

Angelia sat on the sofa alone. Her fiancee and brother-in-law had left after a heated argument between them. Still recorded in his head how protective Abellard against a woman named Naeva de Gaulle. It seems that even fools would know that there was something between them.

"Hey! Come here!" Angelia called out to a girl who looked like a servant. Her clothes were shabby, but her jewelry was numerous. Angelia immediately guessed that the jewelry was all fake.

The bedwet woman who was none other than Lucie approached with a doubtful face.

"You called me?"

Angelia frowned unhappily. This woman spoke as if she were a high-ranking person. Not at all polite.

"Yes, you! You have so much jewelry." Angelia stared cynically.

"Oh, really?" Lucie's eyes were instantly rounded. "Thank you. I love to keep old jewelry."

"Do you want to have better jewelry? I'll give it to you if you want to do something for me."

Lucie's eyes are growing. "really? Oh, you're so good. You're also very pretty. You must be my aunt's guest."

"Yes, aunt. Countess."

Angelia's mouth was gaping. Not expecting the buluk girl before him was the nephew of the Countess.

"Did you know, my name is Lucie." The girl reached out her hand with a face. Not many people from above would like to say hello. And the greeting of the beautiful girl in front of him made his heart happy.

Angelia forced her smile, and accepted the helping hand with a feeling of reluctance.

"Lady Angelia."

Lucie's eyes were even more sparkling with amazement.

"Well, are you the daughter of England?"

"Well that's it .. Do you know Mlle Gaulle?" Angelia instantly cuts on the problem that becomes her goal.

Lucie seemed to think for a moment. "Yes, I know him" he replied later. "He was the guest of Comte. He said that I look like Louise!" Lucie recalled Naeva's words with a happy face.

"Louise?"

"Yes, twin. She's very pretty. And Mlle Gaulle says we're very similar."

Angelia has never seen Lucie's twin. But he felt this was his chance to entrap Lucie to be his supporter.

"Mlle Gaulle is wrong. You're prettier than Louise. I even called you to meet."

"Oh, really?" Lucie exclaimed in amazement as she covered her mouth with her hands.

Angelia endured her nausea seeing the exaggerated attitude of the girl she thought was stupid.

"Do you want to help me? I want to send food as a token of friendship to Mlle Gaulle. I'm afraid Mlle Gaulle would be offended if only a waiter delivered her."

"Is that so? Is Mlle Gaulle an arrogant person?"

"Yes, that's how it is."

"You're so good, Lady, I'll help you."

Angelia smiled with satisfaction.

"Well, a waiter will call you if the food is ready to be delivered. But don't tell me that food is from me, I don't want to be mistaken for face-seeking. You can tell the food was from the Countess, so that Mlle Gaulle would eat it."

Lucie looked at Angelia with a concerned look. "I understand, Lady. Totally understand. Because I'm also often accused of looking face-to-face by Louise."

Angelia grinned happily. He has one pawn for now.

Marc rushed into the castle in a hurry. He had just returned home from a long trip, and heard the news that his lady had been evacuated to the tower room. His heart really hurts. Abellard was totally unexpected. Just a moment the lady he left behind, something bad happened like this.

The man went into the kitchen. All take food for her lady's lunch. The servants did not appreciate them from the beginning. No one will remember to deliver food.

"This meal is to be delivered to the upper room of the South tower. Don't forget, upstairs!"

Marc's steps stopped. That's her lady's room.

A beautiful girl saw Marc interrupting the servant who was standing obediently beside him.

Who's the girl?

"You'll get me a drink. I'll arrange this meal to make it more interesting."

The waiter nodded and hurried to do the order.

Instead of tidying up the food order, Marc even saw the girl wailing. Look out for other servants who are busy doing their respective tasks.

The actions of the elegant-looking beautiful girl were very suspicious, making Marc quickly search for a hidden place to watch her.

The girl opened a small bottle that was in her hand, then poured the liquid in the bottle into the food.
