Chapter 73:
Mary quickened her steps toward the room of Count Abellard. Her heart was really upset with Lady Angelia. It was always the girl who looked dignified but turned out to be evil-hearted, looking for trouble.
"Why else would the English princess meet Monsieur Count?!" his gerrick.
Amily who was still following the two steps behind him immediately replied with excitement.
"Lady Angelia and her parents planned to have Monsieur Comte buy them land, Ma'am. I heard their own deliberation."
Maria's steps stopped. But a second later he went back a step faster while grumbling again, "basic, greedy family. So embarrassing!"
In front of the door of Abellard's room Mary saw the Countess and Lady Angelia. The woman was very grateful, but it was not too late.
"Lady Angelia, are you here too? What's the need?" maria asked deliberately to distract Mme Aamber.
Lady Angelia looked at Maria with a look of dislike. The countess' trust assistant was too close to the village girl who had taken Abellard from her.
"He wants to deliver the fruit to Abellard" said Mme Aamber. "Maria, call the doctor. I'll see Abellard now" he ordered as he grabbed the doorknob to open it.
Maria and Amily's eyes immediately glared at him. Their hearts stopped beating. "Wait a minute, Countess!" sergeant Maria in a loud and panicked voice.
Mme Aamber looked impatiently. Inside there his son must be in a lot of pain. Abellard must have suffered a lot. His heart had just been injured, and now his body was sick as well.
"What's up, Maria?!" scold the woman was upset.
"The door's still locked, ma'am. And you don't actually have to go in. Don't you want Monsieur Comte to be alone for some time?"
"Lady Angelia said the door was open."
Maria's face immediately pale to hear it. Marc opened the door?
"Why did you bar me from entering anyway? Don't you think that this is not the right time to leave Abellard alone?! Call the doctor now!" Mme Aamber stared angrily at Maria.
"It's not like that, ma'am. I forbid you because Monsieur Comte is not sick."
Mme Aamber frowned. "What do you mean?"
"Actually Monsieur Comte this morning just admonished Amily for being late to bring breakfast. He said that he got a stomachache because he waited. I'm sure now after breakfast Monsieur Comte will be fine."
Mme Aamber turned to Amily.
"Stupid girl! Why are you late for breakfast? Your stupidity has also made everyone panic!" angry enough.
"I'm sorry, ma'am. I promise I won't be late again."
"No need! I don't need a stupid girl to serve my son!" Mme Aamber then turned to look at Maria, "start later, find another servant to change his duties."
Mary looked at Amily for a moment. There's no way he's looking for another waitress to get into this charade. The woman then gave Amily the code to leave the place.
After Amily left, Mary bowed her little body to Mme Aamber and replied, "i myself will deliver food to Monsieur Comte from later on, Ma'am."
Mme Aamber looked at Maria in relief. "Alright then, I'll be calmer if you take care of it straight away."
Lady Angelia who felt her goal was delayed due to the arrival of these people clicked inwardly. He almost met with Abellard and launched his plan.
"Sorry Countess. Let me visit Abellard and bring you this fruit" he said with a tone and a face made as soft as possible.
Maria interrupted immediately. "Lady Angelia, it seems like this is not the right time to talk about land issues with Monsieur Comte!"
Lady Angelia's eyes suddenly widened to hear it. How did Mary know her purpose?
Meanwhile Mme Aamber seemed to be frowning confusedly.
"Earth problems? What do you mean, Maria?"
Maria glanced at the Lady before answering her. It looked as if the girl was gulping down her saliva with a pale face.
"Lady Angelia wants to have Monsieur Comte buy her land."
"You don't talk recklessly, Maria!" jolt the Lady, trying to cover up her anxiety.
"I don't just talk, my Lady. You have just been dealing with the problem with both of your parents" Maria replied. Calm and authoritative.
Mme Aamber looked directly at Lady Angelia. "What does Mary say, Lady?"
"No. Not like that, Ma'am," argued Lady Angelia nervously.
Seeing the Lady's nervousness, Mme Aamber immediately knew that what Maria said was true. Mme Aamber was indeed aware of the materialistic nature of his candidate for besantas. But he did not expect that they would use his son like this.
With a heart that began to dislike, Mme Aamber stared angrily. "Give me a fruit basket, Lady. Let me give it to my son myself. You can go back to your parents."
Lady Angelia nodded. He really did not expect to get anger from the Countess. Without being able to say anything, the girl was forced to let the fruit basket be taken from her hands.
Then turn around with mixed feelings. Shame, anger and annoyance half to death.
"I'll see Abellard, Maria. You no longer need to call the doctor," he said as he reached back for the doorknob.
At once Mary's heart stopped beating again. His eyes looked at Mme Aamber's hand with bated breath.
Chequek!
Door handles pressed and pushed.
Maria felt her throat choked. He doesn't know what else to say to prevent Mme Aamber. Even his voice could not come out. Meanwhile, cold sweat began to appear on his temples.
The Countess' hand seemed to have stopped. Then push back the doorknob and push it.
"Why can't it be opened?" ask the woman.
Maria looked confused. Did Marc not open the door?
"Why, Ma'am? Is .... The door can't open?" maria asked still with a tight heartbeat.
"can't. Didn't Lady Angelia say that the door was opened by Abellard?"
Maria immediately breathed a sigh of relief. The woman swept her sweaty forehead with the back of her hand.
"I did start to have less faith in the girl, Ma'am. I'm sorry if I'm presumptuous" replied Maria. After learning that the one who poisoned Mlle Gaulle's food was Lady Angelia, Mary's heart immediately felt hate and could not forgive the girl.
Mme Aamber was silent for a moment.
"Alright then, let Abellard rest. Once he feels fine, he'll come out on his own" he said later.
"Good, Ma'am. I'll take care of her" Maria bowed a little. Until the Countess left him.
**
Just a moment ago, Marc was standing vigilantly behind the door. His heart still could not calm down every time it had to open that door. Amily should never have brought her fruits.
His hands stretched out to turn the room door lock.
Chequek!
After which, his body quickly hid behind the door. His eyes stared intently at the golden door handle.
Looks like the handle was pressed.
"Lady Angelia's! Why are you standing here?"
Suddenly a voice from outside surprised him. Marc's body stiffened instantly.
That's the Countess' voice!
And the woman had just called Lady Angelia who she said was standing at the door. So it turns out that the one who brought the fruit was not Amily?!
Oh Mon Deu!
How'this?
Marc's face paled immediately.
"I want to deliver fruit to Abellard, Ma'am," replied Lady Angelia.
"Don't I tell you not to see him first?" mme Aamber's voice sounded angry.
"I'm sorry, ma'am. I'm just worried about Abellard's situation. I'm afraid he's sick."
"Yes, Abellard is sick, she can't get up to open the door." Mme Aamber's voice sounded soft. "Please find Maria and have her spare key in my room."
"No need, Ma'am. Abellard has opened the door" Lady Angelia said.
Marc gulped his salivary, this is really bad! They're going in. He must disguise himself as Abellard. But how?
"Lady Angelia, are you here too? What's the need?"
Suddenly, Mary's voice came out. Yeah, that's right Maria's voice, Marc's already memorized it. At that instant his heart cheered in relief.
"He wanted to deliver the fruit to Abellard" the Countess replied.
Marc took a deep breath. Her chance. They are busy talking. I hope no one hears the door lock.
Marc immediately extended his hand. And ....
Czechs ....
Only the reader can hear that voice. 😁😁😁
