Lana tried to sit quietly and ignored the slashing chant that pierced her ears.
Lana could not see the spirit of the woman, because it was outside the room, precisely in the gazebo where she had breakfast with Luke. But there's still one problem.
He could still hear the female singing from here.
Last night, he did not hear the song from the next room. This fact astonished Lana and made her want to return to the room, but it was certainly impossible.
Lana flinched, upon hearing the gnashing sound for the umpteenth time.
The voice marks the end of the woman's cycle of death, when she hangs her neck.
Lana couldn't erase that shadow from her mind. How the pale face looked at him, as he slowly snared his neck with a rope.
"Stop!!"
Lana exclaimed with trembling lips, she did not want to imagine that.
Lana busied her mind by trying to think about Joan's offer this afternoon.
Joan offers to have Lana work at her farmhouse. Joan, who knows that Lana speaks several foreign languages, says Lana's skills will be very useful in her place.
Joan and Erich's English was not very good, so they had trouble dealing with tourists who could not speak German or French.
Lana would have accepted it immediately, if it had not meant she would have been more intimate with Joan.
The risk is too great!
It was undeniable by Lana, that she had already bumped into some of the rules she had made these few days. Lana has gone too far to involve Joan in her life. And of course Luke.
Lana was already very sorry, for several times letting Luke see her in a weakened state.
He should have tried harder to contain his emotions, but Luke's existence easily brought down the defensive wall he had painstakingly built.
Lana hates this!
Lana snorted, the crackling of a broken neck sounded again. He was starting to be able to ignore the woman's singing, but the crackling still often jolted him.
So Lana covered her ears with two seat cushions, trying to dampen them.
Lana's been spending a few hours outside. He saw how some waiters were pacing around delivering ordered food in another block.
One of the waiters also delivered dinner for her. Lana could hear a faint knocking sound at the door, but Lana was not willing to approach the room even to just open the door.
Lana guessed the waiter left the food at the door, because when he returned, the servant's hand was empty.
Now his body began to shiver, but with a natural cause, namely cold air outside.
Lana came out before dark, according to Lana the air is still quite warm. But as soon as night comes the air temperature drops dramatically.
But for Lana it's still better than being in that room. Lana immediately felt that her fate was very unlucky, because just outside here, she had not seen a single spirit roaming around since then. The only haunted place is his room.
I'll sleep here! lana's mind is full of determination.
Fortunately, the chair in the gazebo is not entirely made of wood, the shape of the chair is like a semicircle, with thin foam pads all over its surface.
Lana had already shifted one more chair, and installed it in front. His feet could comfortably nestle there.
He would sleep on his back, and cover his ears with a pillow, not too comfortable, but not the worst. Lana once spent the night standing up.
"You have to go into that room, if you don't want to get sick"
A subtle voice whispered in her ear made Lana almost scream, lucky she had closed her mouth with her hands.
Lana immediately jumped up, and looked around the pool. He had mistakenly assumed this place was empty.
And Lana looked at the source of her surprise stunned.
At the edge of the pool not far from where she was sitting, Lana saw the spirit of the little girl she had seen in Melina. The man who became his obsession, must also be in Merian now.
Still with a wet body dripping water. Her tiny hand pointed towards the room where Lana slept last night. He told Lana to sleep in there.
Guilt instantly clogged Lana's throat.
She ignored the girl while she was in Melina, and now she shows up and tells Lana to sleep in a more comfortable place. The little girl was worried about him.
"I'm sorry for ignoring you before"
Lana said in earnest.
The girl smiled, and ran over to Lana. Then stand still and look at Lana with her round eyes. Lana squatted down, to make their height parallel.
The little girl was so beautiful, Lana saw her face more clearly as her transparent parts moved to other areas of her body.
His eyes are round and possibly blue. Her mouth was tiny, and her cheeks were bubbling healthy, her hands folded in front of her chest, making Lana see that her nails were also neatly groomed.
He was a child whose life was well-sufficient and much loved before he died.
Lana imagines how her parents must have been so heartbroken to lose her.
Lana's tears rose, but she wiped them off quickly. The little girl would be sad if she cried.
The girl's hand moved to stroke Lana's hand, making Lana's right hand like it was dipped in water.
"You're beautiful, like a fairy" she said, praising the blue light seen around Lana.
Lana just realized, the pronunciation of the girl's word is still a little slurred. He could not have been more than six years old. Facts that once again make Lana pity.
"Who's namamau?" ask Lana.
"Diellzah"
"A very pretty name, Diellza"
"I'm usually called Ellza, but you used to call me Diell"
From that sentence, as always, flowed millions of Diell stories about his father.
His father was very kind, he always drove him to school, and also accompanied him when he was sick. Diel's father even built a special room so that Diell could play with all the dolls he had.
In short, he was the perfect father in Diell's eyes.
From that story, Lana could guess, the man who became the place where Diell was attached to this world was his father.
"Is your father there?" lana asked while pointing at the main building of Merian. Diell nodded, "Is he on vacation?"
Diell shook his head "He's at work, Dad's rarely on vacation. Dad rarely takes me on vacation"
Diell's face pouted with funny.
"But he spends a lot of time with you, doesn't he?" Lana tried to persuade him.
Diell nodded, but still with a sulking attitude.
"Because of that, your father rarely took a vacation. For your father, spending time with you is a holiday for him, he is already quite entertained by playing with you, Diell" Lana said, smiling gently.
From Diell's story, Lana imagined her father must be crazy about her.
Slowly a smile appeared on Diell's face.
"really? He's entertained for playing with me?"
Lana nodded steadily. A big smile has returned on Diell's face, the story goes with how he often surrounds the resort with his father.
It turns out that Diell's father worked here, not the guest Lana had expected him to be.
But Diell's story wasn't as long as Aubrey's, after a few minutes, the girl kept quiet, and looked towards Merian's main building.
Their distance from the building was quite far, Lana had actually never seen a spirit bound to a human being able to go this far alone. But Lana's knowledge of this is zero.
Hans had never talked about this.
While in Milena, Lana also saw the girl alone, maybe Diell's mileage was different from other ghosts she had met.
"I have to go back" he said suddenly.
Without waiting for Lana's reply, the girl ran away towards the trees that bound the exclusive block. Lana figured her father would definitely come home from Merian.
Too bad Lana hasn't been able to ask more. He wanted to help get the girl 'lepasi'. But now Lana doesn't know when she'll see him again.
Lana returned to her seat, and again the sound of the roaring chant gave her body goosebumps. He didn't hear it when Diell was here, and now the voice is back terrorizing him.
So Lana sat back down with the pillow closing her ears, trying to sleep.

Luke stared at the tray containing the dinner he ordered with annoyance mixed with wonder.
He ordered the food for Lana, in the name of a special guest. The food was completely untouched.
And it's almost ten o'clock, it's too late for dinner.
"What's it gonna do?" Luke muttered in annoyance.
Didn't you realize that his body was so thin? Luke began to grumble inwardly.
Breakfast earlier, he had already ignored Lana's laziness to eat. And now dinner's back off the hook.
Luke knocked on Lana's door, but there was no answer.
Has he slept? But Luke doesn't care, he'll still force Lana to get up to eat.
After three loud knocks without any words, Luke immediately opened the door with the master cardlock. Imagining Lana in such a miserable state as yesterday.
But he found the room completely dark.
Luke clapped his hand, activating the automatic light switch.
The room is empty! Luke went around twice to convince, but Lana wasn't there.
Luke rushed out and checked around the block.
She saw Lana's cardlock room lying on the table, so Lana couldn't get off wearing the cable car. He must still be around here somewhere.
The land on the exclusive block is surrounded by a ravine. Lana won't be able to get off without riding the cable car.
Luke's mind jumped at the worst possible.
Luke's face paled, what if Lana was so depressed and decided to jump?
Luke is very familiar with the depression that results in suicidal ideation. And he wholeheartedly begged that his shadow would not come true.
Luke pulls the phone to contact Neff, but the job turns out not to be easy, as his hand shakes violently.
"Lana's not in her room! What if he decides to jump? Call anyone, we should immediately look for him at the bottom of the abyss, maybe we can still save him if it's not too long!"
Lukas immediately flocked Neff, as soon as he answered his phone.
"Luke, calm yourself!!! Lana may be depressed, but I don't see any suicidal thoughts. Are you sure he's not taking a walk?"
Neff snapped to calm Luke down.
"No! he left his cardlock in the room. Lana won't be able to get down without taking him"
While saying that, Luke's eyes caught a chair lined up in a strange position next to the pond.
With wide steps, Luke walked up to the chair, and his heart immediately felt light when he saw Lana there.
The overwhelming relief that struck, left both of his knees limp. Luke had to crouch down to calm down.
"You found him? Is she okay?" Neff, who heard Luke's sigh of relief, asked.
"Yes, I'll call you later" Lukas said slowly.
Carefully, Luke approached the chair, where Lana fell asleep in a miraculous position.
Officially, Lukas is very envious of Lana's ability to sleep easily. The position was obviously uncomfortable, not to mention the air was cold there.
"Stop! You can't do that. It'll hurt yourself" Lana was delirious as usual.
This time with a different dream.
Luke didn't have the heart to wake him, but Lana would be sick if she stayed here all night. And again, Lana has to eat.
"Lana!! "
Luke is shocked, when Lana awakens almost instantly, so called. Lana immediately sat down and looked at Luke with sleepy eyes.
"What's wrong? " ask Lana with a hoarse voice.
Luke could only help but laugh at hearing it.
He was the one who should have asked what was going on, but Luke didn't want to prolong the matter and decided to take care of the more important things.
"You've had dinner? " ask Lukas. Lana shook her head with her eyes half closed.
"Come, you gotta eat!"
Luke shifts the chair and signals Lana to stand up to follow him.
Lana immediately stood up and walked over without comment. Not even halfway through, Lana suddenly stopped.
His eyes were sharp, suddenly sharp.
Lana then turned to Lukas and was aghast. His shoulders jerked, as if only now did he see Luke standing beside him.
"Are you walking while you sleep? " asked Luke in surprise, he saw the same thing this morning.
Lana without refuting or saying anything, followed Luke's orders to get up, and stood changing rooms.
But then Luke sees how Lana struggles to open the door, unable to attach the cardlock to her sensor precisely.
Luke thought it was because Lana had never worn it. But Lana's situation is exactly the same as it is now.
Delirious is the first word that comes to Luke's mind.
Lana's face revealed something that Luke had never seen. That face is red.
"No, I'm not sleepwalking" it's obvious that the sentence is a weak rebuttal.
Luke immediately smiled, thinking that Lana's habit was adorable.
"Where are we going?" ask Lana.
Lukas smiled again, he had said it clearly, but Lana proved not to hear anything. He was walking while sleeping.
"Dining. I'll order room service. We can eat in your room"
Luke was about to pull out the phone, but it was canceled when he saw Lana stop stepping and looked down deeply.
"No!! I'm going back to the gazebo"
Lana's about to turn around, but Luke's hand restrains her.
"The air will get colder, you'll get sick if you stay there!" Luke begins to clueless with Lana's unreasonable desire.
Lana shook her head loudly, "I can't go back to that room. Wherever you are not in that room"
Lana's tone of voice was different, but the thing she said was exactly the same as the thing she asked for when she cried hysterically last night.
"What's the matter exactly? Why don't you want to be there?"
Once again Lana just shook her head, her mouth opened, but a second later it closed again, void of reply.
Luke recalls Neff saying that Lana was not completely normal. So Luke relented, and decided not to ask again.
"Alright, I'll move you to the west block. There's an empty room. It was noon the hirer checked out"
Luke pointed to a block about a hundred meters from Lana's room.
But Lana's back to shakes.
"That room isn't empty? Can I occupy that room? I'm sorry"
Lana said all of that very quickly, pointing to Luke's room. His feet moved with agitation.
Luke is not a psychologist. But from Lana's attitude, Luke could surmise, he was actually reluctant to ask for it.
"All right"
Luke woke up earlier this morning than Lana, and he did not explain, if the room Lana occupied was his. It was understandable why Lana thought the room was empty. But he had no intention of telling Lana.
Lana needs that room, and she'll give it to her.
Luke turned, and walked towards his room. Before turning around, he could still see Lana's face which immediately looked relieved.
What the hell is it? Luke marks in his mind that he must tell Neff this strange thing.
Lukas called room service as soon as he got into the room.
"You don't have to order anymore, isn't there still food?" lana said, pointing at the door of the next room, where the waiter left the food earlier.
"I ordered pasta, Lana. The paste must have swelled twice and was as stiff as a board. We can't eat it"
Luke shook his head in disbelief at Lana's idea.
"But---" Lana looks unwilling to see the meal thrown away.
"I've ordered, and the food will be delivered soon" Luke breaks Lana's protest, and turns his attention to her vibrating phone. There are some messages coming in there.
This time it was Lana who relented and did not prolong the debate, although the shadow of throwing away a plate of pasta just like that made her frugal soul rebel.
Lana finally chose to check around the room, she could not see it yesterday
Lana could see there was a difference in the arrangement of the contents of the room. The room next door looks like an ordinary luxury hotel room, but it looks like a luxury apartment.
There is also a kitchen and a larger cupboard.
Luke must have arranged each room with a different theme, Lana's mind, while continuing to step towards the other side.
And Lana's eyes were immediately glued to the row of bookshelves attached to the eastern wall. Lana excitedly approached him.
Lana's a hobby of reading, but that hobby has been buried along with her hard life.
Seeing the actual row of books is not how much it is, it is enough to make his nerdy spirit light up.
"Jilid seven?!!" Lana blurted out loudly by accident, the last time Lana read, the book was published until volume three, so many years passed, the book reached volume seven.
Luke, hearing the call, left his file on the table and approached Lana.
"Do you like to read?" tanyakanya.
Lana nodded, and put the book she had in her hand back on the shelf. The book made him cry,
"You haven't read this book until it's finished?" Luke pointed to the book.
Lana shook her head, "Only until volume three, I don't know if the author has published it until volume seven"
"What a shame, the book was one of the masterpieces that had been unmatched until now" Luke shook his head dramatically, to tease Lana.
Lana's eyes immediately look riled up, Luke can guess, surely he is very curious to read everything. But his ego does not allow him to borrow from Luke.
Luke clearly saw Lana's concern, her face wrinkled funnyly. It made him barely able to help with the laughter. "I will bring everything here tomorrow" said Luke, ending Lana's suffering.
"really? That's perfect, thanks" said Lana, smiling happily, she then turned around and pulled another book off the shelf.
Unlike Lana who felt the incident was ordinary, Lana's smile opened something to Luke.
This was the first time Lana smiled happily and sincerely. Not a fake smile like all this time.
Luke could see the difference very clearly. While Luke was silent about how his body was being fed with a very comfortable warmth, Luke liked Lana's smile.
This leads Luke to believe that Neff's words are true, he says of Lana pretending to be something else.
Lana who he had just seen, was far from being cold, and as distant as before.
She looked like an innocent young girl who found the source of her excitement. And it all happened just because of the book.
This is amazing, Luke.
So Luke begins to follow Lana who checks his book collection. Voluntarily, she explained anything about the book that interested Lana.
Throughout the conversation Luke continues to be amazed at how Lana looks so cheerful, free, and warm.
Luke could see Lana's eyes constantly sparkling cheerfully. They continued to talk about books, even until dinner arrived.
Luke just felt that his penchant for reading books paid off today.
Luke loved to read from childhood, but as he grew and socialized, he abandoned the hobby. Some of his friends, said the hobby was not suitable for a female conqueror playboy. Luke decided to continue his hobby of reading it after marriage.
And with that incident, Luke will never regret having started his hobby again.
