Part 58's. First Obstacles

I don't think I'd be expecting Colin. Our relationship is impossible. We work far apart, I'm in the UK he's in the US.

I think I think we have hope to be together. There are too many barriers between us.

I saw him pick me up for our meeting.

"Let's go? Where are we?"

"There's an apartment they rented, close to my place." He was silent for a while before continuing the conversation. " There's actually a problem, in the case of Herron, the possibility that we can be charged severely is only Gerald, Charlie and Dench seem to be receiving minimal punishment."

"Dench received a minimum penalty?"

"He fortified himself by saying that he was not directly involved. "I know, but again it's gonna be a long fight. If you hear news that doesn't satisfy you don't be tempted to go further than your line." I'm silent now, unsatisfactory news. That's a very disturbing sentence, especially when it comes to Dench.

"If Dench was only five years old it would be very unfair."

Now it's her turn to be quiet.

We went into an apartment later. Someone recognized us, I was introduced to a woman named Camilla and several other members. He is the head of the West Coast operations unit. There were some people I knew who were involved in Gerald's cell phone tapping operation yesterday.

"Emma, how are you." Thomas greeted me first.

"Well, he said Dench may have escaped maximum punishment. It makes my news not good to hear it."

"They're still trying. The possibility of losing is there but of course they are trying to attract a lot of responsible people. We'll try to get Robert to help the DEA, Camilla's gonna set it up with the DEA and Colin's gonna have your son-in-law talk to Robert."

I knew Thomas' goal had been achieved, he had already managed to cut off the snake's head, for him Dench was just a minor servant, but for me Dench is the main person I have to clean up with my own hands.

"I can talk to Robert. I have a way of getting him to talk doesn't have to be with Colin." Colin looked at me, he didn't know I was offering 2 million USD for Robert's pub.

"Ohh you sure are. All right, then Camilla will contact the DEA person later offering information from insiders. We're talking about the operation this time..."

We switched subjects, although Thomas said we were still working on it I had the impression that this would not be the main target for him anymore. My only hope now is Camilla and the DEA.

Talks were wiretapping operations that a British money launderer but living in LA, this was Colin's main target, I was never involved but was once asked to find the data of some of the people who were his right hand.

"You'll be collecting data tomorrow. It is suspected that the guests who came were his money laundering partners. Colin's been working close to this circle for half a year..." I half didn't listen because I was thinking about Dench who couldn't do the maximum penalty. My brain is busy thinking about how to talk to Robert.

After that brief briefing, I talked to Camilla.

"Miss Camilla, if there's an insider witness who's willing to divulge their operation and appoint Dench as head of operations you think they're going to incriminate Dench, he's also got an amazing account of his work."

"I'll persuade one of my friends to open all the names. But can he ask for witness protection?"

"That's what we should talk about. I'll ask them." Camilla has not been able to provide certainty.

"I want to know. He is the manager of one of Gerald's big clubs in LA and NY, where his bosses gather. If he can give you a lot of names and how their operating system is. I think all she needs is for you to hide her identity."

"I'll negotiate it. I suppose could. I'll call you as soon as I can, okay."

"I'll wait."

"How are you going to persuade Robert. I'll go to the meeting." He asked again when we got home.

"No need I'll handle it myself." I'm disappointed they didn't get Dench, at the beginning they said he could get it, and now it doesn't seem to be a priority for them.

"What are you going to do to persuade her to agree."

"I have a way."

"You have another case."

"Now you're acting like an angry little boy. I told you I'd help you. Nothing is as smooth as a highway. Once you find a problem doesn't mean the end."

"Am I not trying?! L'm angry?! If you don't succeed I have my own way. I joined here because you said you could make him pay?! I know there's nothing smooth about it, if he's in jail for a year I have a way to finish him."

Now I'm expressing my frustration.

"Thomas and Camilla remain helpful, they just can't overstep U. S. legal authority. Did they take their hands off?" Colin tried to explain.

I just shut up. Still upset to see I have to wait for the results of the deal with DEA investigators. I'll use the money I got from him to make him half dead in jail. Dead is too easy for Dench.

"I told you I don't blame anyone. If he's sentenced to only two years, I'll find a way to make him pay."

Now Colin is silent.

"I'm still on duty tomorrow you don't have to worry about me not doing my job." We almost got to my apartment. I also don't want to leave the impression I'm not working well, however they pay me.

"alright. We meet tomorrow at 7 o'clock. I'll alert Camilla if she hasn't spoken to DEA investigators. Me and Thomas keep helping you, you gotta remember that." Well at least Colin kept trying to help me . He will not break his promise.

"Yes fine, then until tomorrow."

Just like that, we got to my apartment.

"Yes until tomorrow."

I got out of the car clenching my hands. Dench, you won slickly. But I'm not gonna talk about you getting away.
