Part 67's. Wrong Step
Colin POV.
I don't know if I can convince him to leave LA. I'm not asking now but I can't wait another two years. Another year is the limit.
"What your father wants is for you to move on with your life. You've done everything as his daughter. Now slowly forget everything that happened here. This year we settle everything here, the end of next year we go to London."
She smiled at me.
"You're so nice, but I'm not done yet. Dench can't even go to jail yet because he's taking refuge in his profession. I still failed to fight him. My work is far from over. A year? I'm not sure I can leave him. I'm gonna let you down. You're too good."
"Not now Emma." She shook her head.
"Colin, my qku doesn't even know the results. Don't even know if I'll make it. You're right, our relationship is hard, we're gonna fight a lot. And you're too good to me. I was just hoping to be your friend tonight."
"Why did you reject me without thinking about it."
"Because I know you're a very good man. If this doesn't work we'll end up hating each other. I just want to be your friend." He hugged me now. He hugged me but didn't want to give up, he was willing to be my lover, but he wasn't willing to follow me.
"Why did you choose this difficult path."
"Eitherway. It's my destiny I guess." He's lookingat me. "I'm sorry I let you down." I can't believe she turned me down so quickly, she didn't even think about it, Emma decided right in front of me. What this request is so difficult for him.
"Dw..."
"I'm sorry, but my decision is unanimous...We're friends okay. I've prepared the financial records of Dench and Cohen tonight, tomorrow morning I'll take you to your apartment. I'm going down first. Good night."
And he walked away from me.

I went back to my apartment. He's not ready to let go, I can't go anywhere. I thought he would consider it, but he immediately rejected me in one sentence.
Unlike when Julie said it was better for us to be friends, I didn't feel willing to let Emma go. I think I was wrong with the way I asked for it.
"Emma rejected me at the first opportunity."
"He rejected you? Why?"
"Yes, say I'm too good for him."
"Did you force him to leave his case. That's what he told you."
"He just thought we might be able to date but not with a long-term relationship. Doesn't that seem absurd."
"You need to make him believe his life will be much better, it can't be done with one question at a time stupid boy. Don't you have to come to the USA next year often, use that to convince him, don't just force him to commit now. Obviously, he will reject you. Even though you've done a lot for him but asked directly at one time obviously can't get the approval of women who are used to being independent like him. She might want to give up on you like that... You think he can't survive without you? It's different if the girl you're after thinks you're everything, but she's used to going her own way. You're clearly wrong in asking for it."
"Is that so?" Now I'm in the wrong position. I thought after everything I did for her, she would consider it, but she rejected me right then and there. And my mother justifies her actions and blames me.
"Of course that's the answer you'll get. You're too arrogant to ask for it."
"I'm arrogant?" I think I've given him time to consider it with all my attitude. The assessment of women and men is different. Even Mom said my way was wrong.
"Let's not it, Uncle and Aunt are going to London after Christmas. He was close to his aunt. We'll invite them home. Pick them up, take them to dinner at home. I'm gonna talk to her aunt for help she persuaded Emma for you. Don't get discouraged just yet. Everything can change."
"You want me to pick her up."
"Yes while she's in London, be a good lover. Make her aunt approve of you first. He's not going anywhere if you lock up his family. Slowly he will change his mind. Send him to Paris. Fight for your future wife. Next year bring him back to London."
Mother made me have hope again. Maybe it's true that I couldn't change his decision overnight, obviously he'd turn me down if I tried to do it.
