As for parents or guardians, it should not be free of will to marry his child to the candidate chosen by him. Because marriage is a child's right, so they must first know their willingness to marry the chosen candidate. Rasulullah shallallahu alaihi wa sallam said:

“Girl must not be married until she is asked for permission.” (CHR. Bukhari 6968 and Muslim 1419).
