Chapter 39. Lightning Hunter, Caraco

The explosion!

Caraco lands in front of Kang Oh. The ground shook, and the dust spread like water ripples.

Eder rolled to the floor and Sephiro ran backwards.

The explosion!

There was a rumble of thunder, followed by Caraco's golden spear which released a powerful red lightning.

The target? The one who owns all the Agath Crystals, Kang Oh!

'Shit!'

Since he had just absorbed Judgment's Lightning, he couldn't absorb the spell.

Kang Oh guarded himself with his sword, took out a lightning potion from his inventory, and downed it all at once.

[Your lightning resistance increased for 30 seconds.]

Lightning struck his sword.

Kang Oh was pushed back, his feet leaving a trail on the ground.

Caraco, Eder, and Sephiro were in his field of view.

However, Caraco did not even care about Eder's attack and swung his threatening spear towards Sephiro.

In accordance with the soldiers, Sephiro dodged the spear, aimed at his wings, and continuously fired arrows.

'Attacks without a healer or a tank.'

Normally, when a party faced a raid boss, they needed a tank that could block the assault boss and healer attacks that could cure the party.

Some of them at the time!

However, only the three of them had to face Caraco!

Caraco's spear grazed the side of Kang Oh's face.

Caraco quickly folded his wings.

Kang Oh's blade passed through where his wings used to be.

He immediately attacked once more.

This time, he was aiming for one of his four legs.

"You dare!"

Caraco didn't let that happen. It swung its spear, putting pressure on Kang Oh.

Swords and spears clashed.

The intense pressure caused Kang Oh's hand to throb.

He took a step back.

Meanwhile, Sephiro coats the arrow with a crippling poison.

"It worked on Kruger, so it should work on the bird's brain, too."

Kruger is a brutal level 250 monster with a giant mouth.

This crippling poison had worked on Kruger, so even though it was the boss of the raid, it should also work on Caraco.

He put up a poison-tipped arrow and fired it instantly.

The target is clearly wings!

It has hit the mark.

But since the wings were so hard, there were only small splinters on the wings.

Sephiro quickly made another poison-tipped arrow and fired it.

It hit the exact same spot where the arrow had previously landed.

It was only possible because Kang Oh effectively distracted her.

Eder tried to throw a bone spear at him, but it had little effect.

Therefore, he changed tactics and used Bone Bind on his wings to disturb him.

The constant harassment directed to his wings only enraged him.

Suddenly, lightning descended from the sky.

Towards Eder and Sephiro!

Caraco's skill only allowed him to strike at a certain distance from him, so Kang Oh wasn't affected by the lightning.

Eder quickly formed layer upon layer of bone to create a bone wall.

However, the lightning pierced through it, electrocuting Eder's skeletal body.

He immediately left his skeleton body.

The skeleton was burning black.

Eder, who had returned to his ghostly form, heaved a sigh of relief. Although he was safe, his skeleton body completely burned and thus became useless.

Sephiro quickly rolled onto the floor.

He could not completely avoid the lightning.

But according to his squad status, he thought ahead and quickly downed the lightning potion earlier, minimizing the damage.

'As expected of a raid boss!'

After witnessing everything, Kang Oh gritted his teeth.

"You're a bird brain!"

Kang Oh swung his demonic sword.

He needed to attract his attention so as not to be able to start a follow-up attack on Eder and Sephiro.

He cut off Caraco's wings and the shards of red light exploded!

Caraco grimaced in pain.

Kang Oh continues his attack.

The white line left a wound on the wing!

At the same time, the Dark Attack was activated and the black wave damaged the wings.

"Geek!"

The crystal embedded in Caraco's forehead began to emit countless sparks.

Immediately, it shot a giant lightning bolt at Kang Oh like a laser pointer.

"Ohhhhhhh!"

Kang Oh swung down, cutting the lightning in the middle.

His sword absorbed the lightning.

He simultaneously activated the Tempest Tiger!

A golden tiger-shaped aura was released from his sword.

The aura hit Caraco.

Caraco's body is shaking.

A strong whip of wind raged, continuously hitting Caraco.

"Kawahk!"

Caraco was screaming in pain.

'Now!'

Hearing Caraco's shout, Sephiro fired four arrows at him.

Spinning Arrow!

The arrows circled around, flying right at his target!

A fiercely rotating arrow pierced through the raging wind and plowed itself into Caraco's wings.

Eder, who is now in a ghostly state, focuses on the curse.

He released all sorts of curses from his hands.

Slow, debuff healing, fatigue, aging, etc.

They did not do any damage, but they reduced the capabilities of their target!

Moreover, the curse was even more effective in his ghost condition.

However, Caraco has a high curse resistance, so most of them are ineffective.

"Ugh, you're just food to me!"

Caraco raised his spear to the sky once more.

"More lightning is coming down!" Kang Oh yelled.

As he said, lightning fell from the sky. 

Sephiro immediately used his Absolute Evasion skill.

It was a skill that made him, just once, dodge any attacks that occurred!

Therefore, he could dodge the descending lightning.

The problem is Eder!

He had no way of avoiding it.

Eder will die at this rate!

He looked at the incoming lightning and closed his eyes.

But then...

"Call Eder!" Said Kang Oh.

Then, Eder was instantly summoned right in front of him. He could clearly dodge the lightning as well!

"I-I survived!"

Eder opened her eyes and felt relieved that she was fine.

Though, following his relief, he was surprised that Caraco was right in front of his eyes.

"Yeah!"

"Go to the cave."

Kang Oh rushed back to the cave where they slaughtered the Agaths.

"Wait for me!"

Eder quickly followed behind him.

"Mr Sephiro, to the cave!"

"Understood."

Sephiro quickly retreated to the cave.

"Where do you think you're going !?"

An enraged Caraco kicked the floor with four legs to chase after Kang Oh.

Kang Oh, who was heading towards the cave, suddenly turned around.

"Mr Kang Oh?" Eder called out as if saying, 'What are you doing?'.

"I should keep it here for a while. If not then Mr. Sephiro will not make it to the cave."

"Then I'll stay too."

Eder prepared his magic.

"Just go to the cave."

"Understood," said Eder immediately, and quickly ran into the cave.

"You!"

Caraco lunged with his spear, a powerful blow powered by his acceleration!

Kang Oh didn't even try to block it.

He kicked the floor to lower his body to the side.

Kang Oh dodged the spear at a distance of a hair.

The explosion!

The Caraco attack formed a giant crater, as if an explosion had occurred. Dust rose from the site as well.

Kang Oh gritted his teeth and stood up. He then rushed towards Caraco and swung his sword.

Caraco too, quickly pulled out his spear and swung it once more. 

The two of them grazed each other with their weapons.

Kang Oh swung down while Caraco pushed forward.

In an instant, they repeatedly exchanged blows.

"Mr Kang Oh! I've arrived."

Since he gave her time, Sephiro was able to enter the cave safely.

While blocking or dodging Caraco's attack, he said, "The attack from inside the cave. He can't use that lightning when you're there!"

"Understood."

Sephiro started shooting arrows from inside the cave. Eder, too, began to cast a curse.

Eder and Sephiros' attacks were successful.

When struck by long-range attacks and curses, the lightning did not fall from the lightning clouds.

Instead, it was entirely focused on Kang Oh.

"I'll kill you first!"

The crystal embedded in Caraco's forehead started to light up.
