Chapter 05's

Hyper Intuition

It happened a month after Jae Woo joined the dojo.

Jae Woo actually put on weight during that one month. His once weak muscles were now much larger.

Thus, the swing of his sword began to emit a threatening sound.

"You want sparring?" ask Deok Bae.

The sound of his sword swing had changed, signaling that he was already used to the sword.

"Good."

There is no reason to refuse.

"Don't hesitate to attack as much as you like. I'll just block it."

"Understood."

Spar initiated. Jae Woo grabs his sword and scans Deok Bae.

Deok Bae lowered the tip of his sword to the ground.

Surprisingly, his attitude looked very bad!

As she looks at him, Jae Woo is struck by a strange feeling.

"It happened again."

He felt as if 'if I attacked like this, it would work'. He often felt this kind of feeling!

It wasn't the first time.

It started a few days before. He could naturally feel a weakness or gap between the surrounding swordsmen.

This time there was no difference.

If he attacked Deok Bae's side, then he felt he could hit him.

"Well, let's try."

Jae Woo points his training sword at Deok Bae's side.

Ddmr.

Deok Bae easily fends off Jae Woo's sword with his.

'As I thought.'

Deok Bae was a little surprised. For a beginner, Jae Woo's attacks are pretty sharp.

True, she assumes a bad posture that leaves a gap on her side, but Jae Woo actually does.

"So he did block it."

Jae Woo already knew his attack would not work.

That intuition, which told him that his attack would work, vanished as Deok Bae swung his sword.

It was a pity, but he couldn't expect too much on his first try. Jae Woo moves on to the next attack.

'On foot!'

Next, his intuition guided him to the top of the foot and hence, he swung his sword at the top of Deok Bae's left foot.

Deok Bae quickly pulled back his leg. His eyes are slightly widened.

He had not expected a novice would aim at his feet. So, he almost got hit.

'feel good. Let's get a little serious now, okay?'

Deok Bae spread his sword in the center line of his body. That was the most basic attitude of the Swordmaster.

'Mm.'

Jae Woo bit his lip. As soon as Deok Bae adjusted his position, his intuition fell silent.

With no other choice, Jae Woo attacks like he was taught.

He repeatedly swung down, slashed, or stabbed!

"Enough."

In the end, Jae Woo doesn't manage to hit Deok Bae even once.

"You did well for beginners. Now I'm going to attack, so do your best."

"Yes sir."

They changed roles and their fight started once again.

But strangely enough, Deok Bae's sword will lead to any area where Jae Woo feels cold.

Ddmr.

Thus, Jae Woo is able to fend off Deok Bae's attacks without much difficulty.

As Jae Woo repeatedly blocks his attacks, he finds himself smiling.

'The drama is really good. Let's see how long you can last.'

Whenever Jae Woo dodges or blocks his attacks, Deok Bae will increase the power and speed of the next attack.

Tak. Taahq. Tak. Nah! Nah!

In the end, Deok Bae's sword hits Jae Woo's right shoulder.

"Uh."

It's too soon for Jae Woo to hold on.

"Enough for today. Good job."

Deok Bae pulled out his sword.

"Thank you for all your hard work."

Jae Woo lowered his head in regret.

"I can block it."

Because of that cold sensation, Jae Woo knows where Deok Bae's sword will land.

Even so, he did not block that final attack.

Although he knew where the attack was meant to be, his body could not follow through.

The strange feeling he felt during the match..how could he understand it?"

Jae Woo is forced to think harder about the matter.

* * *

Jae Woo feels the same intuition emerge whenever he fights against other students as well.

He would instantly ascertain his opponent's weaknesses and gaps in their defense, and could sense impending danger and block their attacks.

Thus, with this ability, he was able to defeat one of the disciples who had studied here for over half a year.

"Is that ... a side effect?"

He had never felt this way before the accident.

If that was the case, then this ability must have been generated due to an accident and the coma state.

'What really happened to my body?'

Jae Woo walks home with great difficulty, pensive.

Later then...

He felt a cold chill in the back of his head.

Jae Woo instinctively turns his head to the side.

At that moment, a baseball flew past where his head used to be.

"What's that!?"

Jae Woo is shocked, so he turns around. A man wearing gloves came up to him.

"sorry. Are you all right?"

"Ah yes."

"It was unintentional. We were playing catch the ball, but I didn't catch the ball, so the ball flew here. I'm really sorry about that."

The man lowered his head.

"It's okay. Fortunately, I dodged."

The man apologized a few more times and went looking for the ball.

Jae Woo rubbed the back of his head. That intuition, which flared up as the ball flew towards him! That cold sensation!

'It's not just during the game. It shows up in my daily life. I have to do some tests.'

If it warned of danger, not only during its fight, but in its daily life, then it would be very useful.

Jae Woo who has arrived at the house takes Mina to an empty land in the neighborhood.

"What's!? What do you want?"

His eyes were filled with dissatisfaction.

"Take this without complaining."

He passed Mina a baseball. Of course, it was not a hard, stiff baseball. Because, if he gets hit, it'll hurt. So, he bought a soft, elastic baseball.

"What do you want me to do with this?"

"I'm going to face the other way, so try to hit me with it" Jae Woo said.

"What?"

Mina looked at him as if she had gone mad.

"That's the training method I learned at the dojo. Apparently, it's good for improving your senses. So help me a little."

Jae Woo made up a story. He would look at her strangely if he said he wanted to test his ESP.

"really? Okay, but I'll do it hard" said Mina.

"No, wait, it's my first time, so throw it gently."

Jae Woo played it safe.

"Sad."

Disappointed Mina prepared to throw the ball. Jae Woo turned around, facing the wall.

There was a distance of 10m between them.

"I threw it!"

And he throws.

The ball flew behind him!

He felt a cold feeling in his butt.

Jae Woo twisted his body and felt the cold feeling disappear. Then, the ball hit the wall.

"Wow."

Mina dumbfounded.

"He really avoided it."

He looks at Jae Woo, as if he is some kind of strange animal.

And he refused to give up.

'I will hit you no matter what!'

"I threw it again!"

Mina raised her legs like a professional baseball player.

He throws with all his strength!

Jae Woo dodged!

Again, he threw with all his strength!

And he succeeded once again!

Third fourth...!

He didn't hit her even once.
