Secret Tomb
Kang Oh swung down with his demonic sword.
However, a raging red-eyed mummy turned her body, dodging her attack.
'As I thought.'
Even with Berserk active, the mummy did not block Kang Oh's attack or even try to counterattack.
This was because of the battle data they had on Kang Oh.
They had information about Kang Oh's strength, so they didn't quickly defend or counterattack.
"Well, I don't think that's a problem."
Kang Oh is much stronger than a mummy. Not only that, the Gluttony will be active for another 7 minutes.
Therefore, he planned to defeat the mummy completely.
Plus, he's not alone.
Eder and Grano also fought the mummies.
Thumping!
One of the rampaging mummies began to stagger due to Eder's mace attack.
Just then, Kang Oh used a slash on the same mummy that Eder struck.
Thumping!
The mummy, which now had a clear cut, was pushed back and met with a whirlpool that swirled like a hot spring.
Whooshing sound!
Grano has completed his spell.
"Huahp!"
Kang Oh finished it. As soon as he slashed his wound, a shard of red light shot out.
[You have defeated the bodyguard of Beskamen I.]
[Active greed.]
[Statistics have been stolen.]
[Physical +1]
'I've always loved stealing more statistics.'
The more one has, the better; this applies to two things specifically.
One is money and the other is statistics.
Kang Oh's eyes sparkled.
He planned to kill as many mummies as possible before Gluttony died down.
In order to do so, he had to take out the rampaging mummies first, as they would not come back to life.
"Eder, Mr. Grano. Let's destroy the rampaging mummies one by one" cried Kang Oh.
"I understand."
"okay."
Grano and Eder simultaneously replied.
"And I'll land the last attack!"
Kang Oh, Eder, and Grano go to defeat the raging mummy.
They're all completely in sync.
Grano sweeps the mummy with AoE magic while Eder is drunk, and Kang Oh will land the final blow.
[You have defeated the bodyguard of Beskamen I.]
[Active greed.]
[Statistics have been stolen.]
[Soul +1]
Kang Oh continuously attacked the mummy and managed to steal the status six times.
However, he could not steal any more than that since Gluttony was over.
Still, Kang Oh's entourage managed to cut the mummy to thirteen.
"Let's keep pushing!" Kang Oh cheered on his ally.
Kang Oh is gradually fed up with mummies.
It's time to finish them all off.
* * *
Thud.
The mummified body fell to the floor like a doll whose rope was broken.
"Done."
Eder put down his wand and took a breath.
"It works well, everything."
Grano grinning.
Kang Oh tied his demon sword to his back and approached Amil's corpse.
There were two things glittering around him.
Kang Oh took the bronze key.
[Bronze Lock]
The bronze key which was kept by the captain of Beskamen I's bodyguard, Amil.
"oh."
Kang Oh gripped the key tightly.
'Is this the key to the room containing Beskamen I's body and the coffin? I smell money in the air.'
Kang Oh has no interest in the king's corpse or coffin. However, he was interested in the treasure buried with him.
He moved on to the next item.
It was the turban Amil wore. There's white fur tucked inside.
[Sorban Beskamen Fill Loyalty]
It was shaped like a turban and was worn by the nobles of the Beskamen Kingdom.
The basic material is silk, but it is not flammable or damaged due to the special processes it goes through.
The fur tucked inside is a symbol of the wearer's eternal loyalty to their king.
+ Raising the Dead: When you lose all your HP, you come back to life as a mummy. Duration: 5 minutes. Can only be used once per day.
+ Desert Needs: The wearer gains strong resistance to fire. They can easily withstand the heat of the desert.
Rank: AA
Ability: Defense +50, Magic Resistance +80, Physical +15, Mental +30, Magic +10
Minimum Requirements: Level 100
"Hm."
Kang Oh looked disappointed.
It was highly ranked, but he was not impressed by its effects or abilities.
"It would be better to get scimitar instead."
Kang Oh wants Amil to drop his flaming sword.
But it won't bring him down just because he wants to.
At that moment, Grano approached him.
"Did it drop something good?" Grano asked.
"This and this."
Kang Oh stretched out both hands; one held the bronze key and the other held the turban.
Grano seemed interested in the turban.
"Ah, here..."
Grano rubbed the turban with his hands.
"Whatis that? Is it expensive?" Kang Oh asked with anticipation.
"I heard that the Beskamen Kingdom used a special technique to make silk that was extremely resistant to heat. The technique has been lost, although it looks like this turban was made using that technique" Grano said.
"So, is it expensive?" Kang Oh asked once again.
"It depends, I guess. All I know is that it will be of great help to the inhabitants of the desert."
Grano smiled.
"Hm. Then what should I do to sell this at such a high price?"
Do desert people have their own auction houses?
"I'm not sure. Do you mind if I take this turban?" Grano asked.
"You want to?"
"Yes. I'd like to use this to try to make the silk heat-resistant."
"Hm."
Kang Oh thought about it for a moment.
Grano can request 30% of the loot.
However, the turban is not worth 30%.
The turban has a special awakening ability and is also an AA rank hat.
"I gave you Gureko's ring, didn't I?" grano.
Nothing in this world is free. Unfortunately, that seems to apply to heaven as well.
It is always give and take.
Grano had given him the ring before, so it was now his turn to give him this ring.
"I understand."
Kang Oh handed the turban over to Grano.
"Thank you."
Grano kept the turban into its subspace.
Kang Oh fiddled with the bronze key.
Treasure was waiting for him.
"Let's start looking for a place to use this."
Kang Oh moves in; Grano and Eder follow, and begin ransacking the mummy room.
"Here!" shout Eder.
Kang Oh and Grano approach Eder.
There was a coffin leaning against the wall; in between, Amil's coffin had a keyhole at the bottom.
"I opened it."
Kang Oh put the key inside; it was a perfect fit.
Crunched.
Kang Oh turned the key and he heard the mechanism was active.
After that, the mummy chamber, as well as the pyramid itself, began to shake.
"What the hell is going on?" Eder shouted in surprise.
Amil's coffin sank into the ground, revealing a stone gate that had been obscured from view.
However, the vibration never stopped. A piece of the ceiling collapsed as well.
"Mah!" Eder crying.
"Why did this happen?" Kang Oh asked Grano.
"I'm not sure... Ah, hold on a second. Something is written here."
Grano pointed to the inscription written on the stone gate.
"Can you read it?"
"Anyone who disrupts the king's rest will be punished without fail" Grano said.
"We must have set off a trap" Grano added.
He furrowed his brows; it was quite a severe expression.
"A trap?"
"Yes. The key must be activating the mechanism that made this whole place collapse" Grano said.
The ceiling continued to collapse.
Kang Oh tried to push the stone gate with all his might. However, it did not move an inch.
"Dam."
"What are we doing now!?" Eder shouted while covering his head with both hands.
"We obviously have to run!"
They don't have time to make any other decisions.
Kang Oh, Eder, and Grano ran towards the exit.
Large stones fell from the ceiling.
"Mayh!" Eder screamed as huge boulders continued to fall behind them like an avalanche.
"Shut up and run."
Kang Oh gritted his teeth.
To think they would be put into a situation like this!
"Heok, heok."
Grano's breath is also haggard.
Kang Oh's entourage could barely get out before the passageway was completely destroyed.
Fortunately, they did not see a single Celtus. Did they also run away once they realized that the dungeon was collapsing?
Whatever the case, there was nothing stopping them from running.
Kang Oh, Eder and Grano ran as fast as they could.
How busy are they running?
"I saw the exit" Eder shouted.
"Don't look back and just run!"
Kang Oh ran gathering all the remaining power.
"Heok, heok!"
Gran did the same.
Kang Oh's entourage quickly climbed up the stairs and exited the basement.
Not long after they came out, the tomb of Beskamen I completely collapsed.
Once that happens, the shaking stops.
Kang Oh was lying on the floor.
"Damn. It's already planned."
Beskamen I's tomb had collapsed, but the rest of the basement was fine.
That doesn't make any sense.
Unless it was arranged that way from the beginning.
"Haa, huh. This must be the way Beskamen II did so that no one could plunder his father's tomb" Grano said as he caught his breath.
Hiding the tomb inside the tomb was only the first step.
The trap actually succumbed in the tomb!
Now, no one can touch the body of Beskamen I or his coffin.
It is like burning a small house to eradicate bedbugs, or so it seems, but nevertheless, the purpose of Beskamen II has been realized.
Because Kang Oh was unable to loot the tomb and came out empty-handed.
"My money!"
Kang Oh slammed his fist against the floor angrily.
They find a hidden dungeon (the king's tomb), but they manage to return empty-handed!
Moreover, it was the dungeon that continuously gave birth to the golden insect, Celtus.
If they explored the dungeon and killed every Celtus they saw, then it would be easy money!
Kang Oh felt like he was going crazy.
"Hoo, at least we made it out unscathed."
Eder rolled over and patted his body.
Who cares about the money!?
His body is everything to him.
"Haa. Beskamen II, the vengeful man. He must be reassessed by history. Hm. Is that a murder case, too..." Grano Mumbling.
Kang Oh continued to squirm while punching the floor. On the other hand, Eder kept patting his body while Grano looked engrossed in thought and murmuring.
If someone saw them, then they would think about the title of this movie.
'Three Idiots'!
* * *
Kang Oh's entourage returns to their headquarters at Hapdala Oasis.
"Haa, good job, my body."
As soon as they entered the yurt, Eder took off his gear and lay down on the floor.
"Sad."
Kang Oh's expression was still bitter and regretful.
"There's one hidden cellar left. Plus, we still have a hidden oasis as well," Grano patted her on the shoulder and comforted her.
"You're right."
Kang Oh nodded.
'Water under the bridge. Leave it.'
But they say that the fish you lose appear larger than they actually are. Unbeknownst to him, Kang Oh's face was still wrinkled.
At that moment...
"Mr Grano, are you here?"
They heard a voice coming from outside the yurt.
"Please come in" said Grano.
It was the native Baritone Desert way to allow others into their homes.
As long as they were not their enemies, it was considered very impolite to drive away guests without welcoming them home.
A man goes into the yurt.
That's a very fat man. Her skin was brown and they could not see her pupils because her eyes were so small.
He wore a turban and loose white clothing on the sleeves for better ventilation.
It was clothes from a desert area north of the Baritone Desert.
This was the first time Kang Oh, Eder, and Grano, who were from this area, had seen him.
"Please sit down."
Grano pointed to the sitting pillow; the man lowered his head and thanked him.
"Why are you here?" Grano asked.
"Hello. My name is Modune."
The name of the fat man was Modune.
"Which one of you is Mr Grano?" he asked, looking towards Kang Oh, Eder, and Grano.
"That's me. But what is your business with me?"
"I heard you're the top expert in the Baritone Desert."
Modune took a short breath and continued, "I want you to help us find the hidden oasis."
Kang Oh, Eder, and Grano widened their eyes.
Competitors looking for a hidden oasis have appeared!
