Chapter 67's

The Treasure House of Lupenia

"I can see the light," said the Fish-Man guard at the entrance of the Devil's Nest.

"Remove the barrier," Champion Lupenia, Radium ordered.

The two Fishman guards opened the barrier on both sides wide enough that one could pass through.

The glittering floating crystal was the first to leave the Devil's Nest.

Next came Grano, Kang Oh, and Eder in that order.

"You work hard" Radium greeted Kang Oh's party, his turtle face smiling.

"really. Gureko's bad breath was horrendous," Kang Oh smiled and said.

"Haha, I've kissed her before. Really terrible," Radium agreed.

"Here."

Kang Oh gave him Gureko Core.

"Thank you."

Radium took it and gave it to his subordinates.

"Send to Shaman."

"Yes sir!"

His subordinate received the core and immediately departed.

"Who is this Shaman?" ask Eder.

"Shaman is responsible for purifying and managing the core" Radium replied.

"Is she beautiful ..." Eder begins, but he stops as soon as he remembers Queen Roane's face.

Kang Oh looked at her, seemingly saying, 'You really don't give up' and said to Radium, "I want to see the queen."

Give and take.

He had defeated the Seed of Calamity and brought them the essence, so it was time for him to receive his reward.

"The queen should be waiting for you."

Kang Oh, led by Radium, heads for the queen's room.

No changes to the queen's room. The room was still wrapped in cloth which hid the queen's appearance.

"My Queen, Mr. Kang Oh and his entourage have returned after clearing the Devil's Nest."

The cloth was lifted and the Queen of Lupenia, Roane, was revealed.

"You're done fast. You're really his heir."

His voice, as usual, resounded clearly. Of course, his face, which looked like an alien, was also still the same.

"Mr Kang Oh," call Roane.

“Ya,” Kang Oh was polite and answered briefly.

"And all of you, thank you for all your hard work."

"That's nothing."

Kang Oh lowered his head.

"Now it's time for me to enforce my agreement" Roane said.

Kang Oh's eyes sparkled.

"Mr Kang Oh. I give you permission to take out one item of any kind from the Lupenia Treasure House."

"Thank you very much."

Kang Oh's lips curled into a smile.

'This is a treasure house, so it should at least be filled with A-rank equipment. There must be expensive materials and gemstones there as well.'

A visit to the treasure house! How intriguing.

"Please don't forget my request" Roane pleaded.

All he needed to do was to meet Burkan and pass Roane's request to Valan to him.

"good. And I'll pay you both as well, Mr. Grano and Mr. Eder. Runo's."

"Yes my queen?"

The old Fishman standing beside him was like a folding screen taking a step forward.

"The thing I told you to prepare early, please bring it to them."

"I understand."

Runo clapped his hands twice and between the fluttering fabrics, two female Fishmen appeared carrying trays.

A conch shell-shaped crystal that emits rainbow light is slapped on the tray.

"It's our specialty (Lupenia), rainbow crystal. Please take it," said Roane.

"Thank you very much."

Eder and Grano said politely.

Grano smiled, as he felt his wife would love this crystal as a gift.

"Mr Kang Oh, do you want to go to the treasure house immediately?" Roane asked.

"Yes." Yeah."

I want to leave immediately!

"Radium, please take him to the treasure house. Runo, please prepare a resting place for Mr. Grano and Mr. Eder," Roane said as he stared at Grano and Eder.

"Thank you."

Grano lowered his head.

"Please follow me."

Kang Oh follows Radium while Eder and Grano follow Runo.

So, Kang Oh left the queen's room.

* * *

The Lupenia Treasure House was located under the Lupen Crystal Palace, and the treasure house itself was locked behind a thick stone gate.

Radium places a coral-shaped key (which hangs around its neck) onto the stone wall. The thick stone gate creaked as it opened.

"Ooh."

Kang Oh trembled with excitement. Treasures, treasures!

He followed Radium through the stone gate.

There are rows of display stands that show off various treasures.

Coral armor, shark-shaped helmet, sword that looks like a seven-branched sword, etc.

It was indeed a treasure house; it was filled with treasures that Lupenia had gathered.

"Please take your time and look around. When you're ready, pick one of them and let me know."

"I understand."

Kang Oh began to appraise the items inside the treasure house.

[Helm Mysterious Mekhal]

Helmets worn by the famous adventurer Mekhal of the Aquatic tribe, Calodia.

If the helmet is worn, it is said that once in a while you will be taken to a mysterious location in the sea.

...

Minimum requirements: Fishman only

'Continue!'

Kang Oh passed a shark-shaped helmet. That was because it was only a Fishman item.

If the equipment was restricted to a certain race like this, then human players would be required to send it to expert craftsmen to modify it.

Modifying items required a variety of materials and one had to pay an expert craftsman for his services as well.

So, pass!

[Armour Sturgeon]

Armor is made by processing sturgeon, which is harder than steel. Although made by unskilled craftsmen, it is lightweight due to the quality of the material.

...

Minimum requirements: Fishman only

'It's just Fish Man too. Continue on!'

Kang Oh checked the next item.

It was the Fishman's only equipment. The next one too!

Kang Oh checked the items inside the treasure house for some time and his countenance changed.

"Can't be?"

All the items here can't be just Fishmen, right?

"Master Radium."

Kang Oh came to Radium.

"Have you chosen what you want?"

"No. I just wanted to ask you something. Are all the items here only Fishmen?"

"Not everything, but most of it is."

Can you tell me which items are not just Fishmen?

"I understand."

Radium began to show equipment and jewelry that were not just Fishmen.

The more time passed, the more Kang Oh's face stiffened. It was because he was dissatisfied with the item Radium had shown him.

'The best item is A-rank, but it only requires level 50.'

The items Radium showed him were definitely not treasures. If auctioned, they would not sell or would sell at a cheap price.

"Why is this considered a treasure?" Kang Oh could not help himself and asked.

"At sea, items that come from land are very valuable. You see, they're different to get it" Radium said.

"Ughs. Then are these all items that aren't just Fishmen?"

"There are some others."

"Please show me that too."

"I understand."

Kang Oh follows him and checks the last remaining non-Fishman items, but none of them interest him.

"Have you chosen?" ask Radium.

"Hm. Please let me take another look."

"of course. Take as much time as you need."

Kang Oh postponed his decision and browsed the treasure house once more.

* * *

Eder was currently resting inside the room where Runo was carrying her. He took off his equipment and leaned back on the comfortable sofa.

Then, the door opened and Kang Oh came in.

"You back?"

“Ya,” replied Kang Oh briefly and checked the inside of the room. He didn't see Grano.

"Where is Mr Grano?"

"He went to make sure the absorbers were functioning properly" Eder said.

"Thank you?"

Kang Oh sat on the sofa.

"How's the treasure house?" ask Eder.

"It was worse than I expected."

"Why is that?'

“Most of them are just Fish Humans and those not just Fish Humans are no good,” Kang Oh explained simply.

"So, what did you choose?"

"It."

Kang Oh took out a blue fin from his inventory, which was decorated at the ankle.

From one look, one could tell that it was a Fishman item only meant to be used in water.

"So you finally picked the Fishman item only?"

Eder smiled.

"It may look like this, but this is an S-rank item."

Among the Fishman items alone, there were some that were S-rank.

He had chosen this fin because their level 100 requirement was the highest and also had three abilities.

"Will spend a lot of money modifying an S-rank item."

Eder hit in a sick spot.

"Ehem, that's right."

Kang Oh wants to choose non-Fishman items only if possible. However, the other items were too terrifying.

"If need be, I'll use it for Gluttony."

If an S-rank item was consumed, then the Gluttony would be incredible, but it would be worth it.

"It seems like nothing is worth taking."

Eder smiled.

"Yes, they really caught me."

Kang Oh also smiled.

"Ah, right, this."

Eder gives her the conch shell-shaped crystal that Roane gave her.

"What about that?"

Kang Oh looked at the crystal blankly.

"You're not gonna take it?"

Kang Oh always takes everything. Therefore, Eder believed that Kang Oh would also accept this.

"No, you can keep it."

"I'm sorry?"

He even bought her equipment. What happened to this guy?

Eder felt this must be some kind of trap.

“From now on, if you get a gift, you can save it,” said Kang Oh.

"Excuse me?"

No, wait, why is this guy doing this? Did he just say this and then claim that it was all a lie later?

"And I will pay you 3 gold a day from now on."

Kang Oh gave him three gold coins.

Eder looked at the coins and looked sad.

"Sir Kang Oh, why are you like this!? What's my fault this time?" shout Eder.

Why did you suddenly become so out of character!? Is this a new kind of torture?

Kang Oh scowled.

"Want to die, or want to take it?" Kang Oh said seriously and Eder quickly shut his mouth.

Eder obediently pocketed the gold coins while Kang Oh was looking.

“You are much more useful than I thought,” said Kang Oh.

Eder, who became the Knight of the Curse, was much more useful than he had expected. Especially his AoE curse that reduced his enemy's defenses.

“I pay someone as useless as Darion 3 silver a day, so you deserve 3 gold a day,” said Kang Oh.

Rich eder. No, he's rich .

He had seen all those gold bars inside Eder's private vault!

Therefore, he had not given Eder any pay so far.

However, Eder tells him that he is broke in an abandoned mine.

Eder is not rich anymore.

That's why he bought her equipment and gave her a salary as well.

Above everything!

'If I want to get his 4,000 gold, then I have to give him a way to live in the meantime.'

Even though Eder was an undead, he still needed gold from time to time.

What if when he did, he was completely broke? It was clear he would spend a portion of the 4,000 gold in his bank meant for him.

To prevent that from happening, Kang Oh decides to give him a paycheck.

"Ahem, Mr. Kang Oh."

Once he realized that Kang Oh was sincere, Eder showed a cheerful expression.

If you behave badly all the time, but then suddenly act well, the influence of that good becomes even greater.

"Oh, right. If you need money, just tell me. I'll lend you money using your mansion as collateral."

Kang Oh grinned.

"That's a little..."

Why don't you give the cat a piece of fish instead?

Just then, the door opened and Grano walked in.

"I'm back."

"Does the absorber work properly?" Kang Oh asked.

"Yes." Yeah."

"Then, will we go back to Altein?"

"Good."

It was time for their sea and remote island vacation to end.
