Father's Status On My Son's Deed

Father's Status On My Son's Deed
13. Old friend

“So you to the hospital?” aji asked as she sat down for dinner. Aji glanced at the vitamins that were beside Asha's plate.

“Ya, I'm there,” replied Asha, hoping for Aji to ask further.

However, in fact he had to swallow disappointed because Aji no longer asked him. Asha never brought vitamins to the dinner table, but this time she brought them in hoping Aji would worry about her. However, it was all the delusion of Asha.

Until dinner there was no more talk from the two of them. Aji goes to her room while Asha cleans up their former dinner.

The heat is very hot, Aji just returned from his business outside. For now he just wanted to sit in his cold room. Just sitting and leaning on his back, a call was heard, immediately he raised the call coming from the mother.

“What's up, Ma?” ask Aji immediately.

“Nothing. Later tonight you come for dinner ya.”

“Cock tumben?” ask Aji wonder.

“Mama has guests. Yes, you should prepare for dinner later. Don't forget to bring your daughter-in-law too!” exclaiming the woman then hung up her phone call before Aji asked.

“Guest? Who until I invite Asha?” murmured Aji while staring at the screen of his phone which is now dark.

In the afternoon Aji arrived at the apartment, he immediately looked for the whereabouts of Asha who turned out to be in the kitchen.

“You can get ready now? We go,” said the man while opening his tie.

Asha was surprised, not usually Aji precedes talking.

“Eh, go where?” ask Asha confused. “I've cooked, Mas,” Asha said.

“To Mama's house. Mama invited us to dinner,” Aji replied as she walked away.

“Continue, this how?” asha asked pointed at the stove that was still on.

“Leave it,” said the man from afar.

Asha had to turn off the stove and put everything back in the refrigerator. The meat she had boiled was stored in the closet.

At seven o'clock in the evening, they had prepared in their rooms to go to the mother's house, Asha wearing the best clothes she could wear right now. The large clothes made him able to hide his expanding stomach.

“I don't think Mama will see,” said the woman guessed, she's not ready if her in-laws ask. Not to forget she also polished her thin face with make up. Don't look pale and make her two in-laws worry.

“Asha, how long will you be in there?” ask Aji's voice from outside.

“Shortly, Mas!” shouts Asha, then continues polishing the lipstick on her lips.

In a hurry he picked up his bag containing a cellphone and wallet, then walked out of the room.

“Sorry, have you been waiting a long time?” ask Asha when she finds Aji sitting on the sofa.

Aji felt annoyed, turning her gaze away from the phone. He was about to speak, but soon he puffed up and threw his face the other way.

“Come quickly go!” said Aji. Asha's footsteps followed her husband out of the apartment.

The car drove on the cold road, a little drizzle down tonight. Several vehicles drove along with them. Asha stared outside, it was very boring this trip. What else Aji did not invite him to talk at all.

“If you want to buy, just buy,” said the man while opening the car window next to Asha.

“Ngak, Mom. We'll have dinner at Mama's. I was afraid I could not eat much there. Wouldn't it be that if I couldn't eat much Mama would worry?” asha asked with a smile so her eyes narrowed.

Aji clucked in annoyance, then closed the window glass again and the car sped up when the lights had turned green. Actually Asha wanted to, but somehow she hoped that Aji would buy the food for her.

‘What do I expect? Remember Asha, don't expect too much!’ said the woman in his heart.

The whitewashed mansion was already in sight, the car carrying Aji started to enter the gate. Aji and Asha went straight into the house.

“You've arrived?” greet Tia with a fluffy smile on her lips. The middle-aged woman came to the boy and his daughter-in-law. Hugs and kisses on the cheeks she gives to Asha while Aji only sees her mother and Asha's interaction in silence.

“Come in. My mom cooked a lot. Our guests have also come and waited,” said the woman.

Asha of course was confused, looking at Aji who just said he would have dinner here.

“Whose guest?” ask Aji.

Tia smiled. “You'll know later. You'll be happy to see him. Come!”

Aji became curious, as well as Asha who was now Tia pulling her hand and headed straight towards the dining room. A woman appeared to be there, helping the assistant stare at the plate on the table.

“Naura, Aji is here!” exclaim Tia.

Aji is surprised and smiles to see his best friend who he did not think was here. In contrast to Naura who was fixated on seeing a beautiful woman now smiling and approaching Aji, hugging the man without any hesitation at all. Actually Aji feels uncomfortable, but not good if he rejects it. There was a sense of heat in Asha's heart at this moment.

“It ... who?” naura asked as she looked at Asha beside Tia. Naura looked at Asha from top to bottom. Very beautiful though with a polished face thin make up.

“This is Aji's wife. You have never met ‘kan kanutu Tante?” tia explained. The two women shaking hands with each implied a faint smile full of disappointment.

Naura was surprised and did not expect that if Aji was married, she did not get the news at all.

“Oh, I don't know. You didn't tell me,” Naura said with a smile making Tia unwell.

“That time you were busy. Now that it's all present, let's start dinner!” get Tia to break the awkwardness.

They sat in their respective places, even with Harto who had just returned home to join them at the dining table.

“Ah, this food is so delicious. Aunty is a great at eating!” said Naura enjoying the food in front of her.

Tia was happy to hear the compliment. “Then you eat a lot.”

Tia got up from her seat and picked up Naura's favorite food, keeping it on the young woman's plate. “Eat a lot. Auntie did deliberately cook this food because you were coming. You still like Indonesian food, right?” ask Tia.

“Still dong. What else is a meal that Aunty cooks. I think I can eat up to three plates,” said the woman. Harto smiled happily, as if he also had a daughter when Naura came.

“Tasting my wife is really good. You lose if you don't spend,” said the man. Naura laughed and agreed to Harto's words.

Asha saw that, she felt pinched upon seeing the closeness between Naura and her two in-laws. Envied? Yes, this is how he feels right now. It was not only her treatment of her in-laws that she was unwilling to, Naura's gaze on her husband also felt strange to her. Likewise with Aji, it seems that the man did not mind at all when the girl poured water in her glass.

Naura smiled thinly almost imperceptibly as she glanced at the wry-faced Asha. ‘This is just the beginning, Friend. I will make sure that Aji will also glance at me!’
