I'm your Dad

I'm your Dad
Part 26 - A Different View

The man turned his head, coinciding with the fall of the file from Laura's hand.

Regan looked at Laura with a very thin smile. But Laura looked at him in surprise, with her lips slightly open. Gave an adorable impression for Regan.

Regan walked over to Laura. Up in front of Laura, she lowered her head, picking up the fallen file. Then, thrust it in front of the face of Laura who was still gawking half-consciously.

"You dropped it" Regan said, breaking the silence.

Laura who had just regained her senses, blinked her eyes a few times. Then, take turns staring at Regan and the file in front of her.

There was no response from Laura. Regan went forward eroding her distance with Laura. Laura flinched and stepped back, Regan came closer, until Laura was cornered next to the door.

"You-you... W-want what?" said Laura.

"You forgot to close the door, Secretary Laura!"

Regan closes the door, but she has no intention of keeping her body away from Laura. Regan was even more fixed on Laura's face with a very close distance. Even now Regan's face was 3 cm from Laura's right cheek, if Laura turned her head just a little, it was certain that the accident would happen.

"You can keep your face away from me!"

"Can't, before you forgive me."

Regan's face drew closer, but Laura immediately pushed her away.

Laura wanted to curse at the man in front of her, but it was already the sound of the door opening.

"Young Mr. Regan, the meeting will start in a few minutes" Mila said.

"You go first. I'll catch up!" regan.

Mila exited the room after getting an answer from her master. Mila's own position is as a secretary in Regan's company, she disguised herself as a division working in Sean's company on Regan's own orders. And the trap they set managed to get Laura into it.

"We'll continue later. Come on, we need to get to the meeting room right now. Everyone is waiting."

Laura's heart had cursed Regan with various animal names. Already upset until the crown with Regan's attitude.

...***...

The meeting was completed 25 minutes ago. Now Regan is sitting sweetly in Sean's oversized chair. As for Laura, since the meeting is over, it's been preoccupied with those damn files.

"Has Laura finished her report?" ask Regan to Mila.

"It seems not yet, young master. Miss Laura was still busy going in and out of the room to collect those reports. And this is part of my report."

"You just put it there, I'll sign it. And let Laura take you along."

"alright. Excuse me.." said Mila out of Regan's room.

In Laura's room, almost 4 hours of Laura's wriggling on her laptop and the files on her desk. He even passed his lunch hour. And now it's time to pick up the kids at school, but before that he'll hand over the damn files to his boss' room.

"Fucking boss!! If it wasn't my boss's sister, I would've burned him alive." - Laura.

Laura is at the door of the CEO. He knocked on the door and entered the room.

"Sir, these are all the files you asked for!"

Regan did not reply, she looked at Laura ignoring the files that Laura had filed. Then, Regan stood up to walk up to Laura. The more Regan got closer, Laura retreated her steps. Laura tried to avoid.

"Where do you want to go? Want to pick up the kids?" ask Regan.

Laura did not answer. His breathing was just gasping for anger.

"I've had my assistant pick up the kids" Regan said.

Laura looked at Regan in disbelief.

"I want you to stay here." concluded Regan. She deliberately stroked Laura's cheek.

"You!!" Laura growled in annoyance and slammed into Regan's hand that touched her.

...***...

Regan's assistant, Elwin, has picked up her two sons. Now the three of them are on their way.

"Uncle, what and mom is so busy she can't pick us up?" ask Iva.

"Yes, they're doing a lot of work at the company. You know Uncle Sean and his assistant are going to America. So, your mother's father is in trouble today" Elwin explained.

"Uncle, I want to go to my father's company." Iva pinta.

"Other times your uncle will take you there. Now they can't be bothered." said Elwin, trying to explain in child language.

"Uncle can help us?" ask Iva who talks more than Vio.

"What can uncle help you?"

"Help us to bring father and mother back together. Help me get my mom's forgiveness. And make mom melt back to me." pinta Iva.

"can't. Uncle doesn't need to listen to his request!" tympano Vano.

"Uh?!" Elwin seemed to think hard plus surprised by Vio's statement.

"Why brother?" Iva asked, looking at her brother in confusion.

"He's not our father! I only have one father, only Vano's father!" firmly Vio.

"But, Vano's father is just us. Meanwhile, our own real father is Regan's father. So, it was Regan's father who deserved to be recognized by his own son" Iva said.

"Does he deserve our recognition? Didn't you hear the story our mother told us? The father you want to admit to, even asked mom to kill us!" snapped Vio explained to his sister.

"But now I've apologized to my mother" Iva said.

Vano listened to his sister's words with a serious expression. He then replied firmly, "But, Regan's father is not our true father, Iva. Regan's father is the father of another family. Our true father is the one who has us since we were born."

Iva looks confused and tries to explain, "But Regan's father is very kind to us, Vano. He loves us so much. I've even apologized to my mother a few times."

Vano remained steadfast in his stance, "All sorrow cannot be redeemed with an apology. For years our mother suffered greatly. I know that, Iva, but that doesn't change the fact that Regan's father isn't our true father. We must remain loyal to the Father who is willing to raise us alone."

Elwin tried to mediate, "Kids, this is a complicated situation. You should know that both of your fathers care about you. We can't force them to be together if it doesn't happen naturally."

Iva and Vano still have different views on Regan, but they understand that the situation is complicated. They continue the journey in silence, contemplating their individual feelings about their families.
