I'm your Dad
Part 9 - Heat in the Sun

If tomorrow's not up, then my quota is up, yes. 🙄

You see, my new story requires research that puts out a lot of quota. 🤣

Once at home, Dhan immediately took a bath while Kenan went back to buy lunch. On his way home on foot, he silences the man who keeps raving about High School with Odhi.

An hour later Kenan returned with a few plastic bags in hand. Dhan only glanced when he was welcome to eat. Although hungry, he did not want to eat at the table with the man.

Two hours later, her parents returned home from a work anniversary. Dhan immediately sent Kenan home on the grounds that he was no longer alone at home, but a shocking thing came out of his mother's mouth. Kenan will stay with them for a few days.

After dinner together, like a happy family with the man sitting at the head of the table while he and his mother flank—Dhan immediately entered the room and locked it. Several times the door was knocked on, but he remained unmoved on the bed without moving an inch.

Dhan glanced at the vibrating mobile phone, the hand that was on top of the stomach directly picked up the flat object. Not a phone like Kenan, which has a bitten apple logo on the back of its casing, the phone is only an android from the country of Gingseng. Although the latest output, but the price is very much compared to the Kenan device.

Eyes immediately glared at the name on the phone screen. For the size of a quiet girl, Khanza never called her first. He swiped the screen of the phone, then put it to his ear.

“Halo, Za.”

“Assalamualaikum.”

This is the difference between Khanza and the other girls. His soft voice and adherence to the obligations of Islam, made Dhan feel unworthy to be next to him. “Wa aleikumsalam,” says.

“Dhan, are you home?”

”Iya.” Dhan got up and sat down on the edge of the bed. “Why?”

“I went there, yeah. Borrow a sociology book. Mine's missing.”

”Oh.” Dhan weighed in, either allowing Khanza to his house or saying he would be willing to deliver the book to the woman's house. But what ride, his mother has not allowed him to ride a motorcycle on the road, even though he knows that Dhan is proficient and trustworthy. “I'm waiting for you at stop.”

Dhan's house entered a dark alley. If there is light, it is only when in front of the house will be found first after passing through the alley that can only be passed by one sedan car.

“Bby, nih?”

“Yes, that. What, the hell, that doesn't make you,”. Across there was the sound of an amused laugh that was so gentle, that Dhan felt like he was in the clouds.

“Oke, I'm on my way now. Assalamualaikum.”

“Wa alaikumsalam,” reply.

After the connection was cut off, Dhan headed straight for the study table and then looked for a sociology book that would bring him to Khanza. The meek girl who ranked last semester was below him. Aren't the two of them very suitable?

Dhan's the most genius kid in the IPS department. It was not arrogant talk, but all the teachers said that to him. He was the second exemplary student after Andra, the difference was that his upperclassman never tasted rank one.

Just as Dhan stepped towards the living room, two adults who were watching at a considerable distance, scolded him with questions that ended up on Kenan's offer to accompany him. Dhan felt like a child while he was in this house, the thing he could do was do by the man. Luckily Kenan never offered to bathe her.

Dhan left those who still persuaded to accompany him. He didn't understand why the mother was on Kenan's side. The woman should have been angry at Kenan who had betrayed her. If this is so obvious, Dhan's presence comes from a relationship without status.

Throwing away his annoyance, he stepped out of the house towards the edge of the highway. His feet led him to the stop, there was no one there. He did not know why, because Dhan is not a public transport user. The goal is to go out of the house only to school. If you want to go to the mall just walk away, the distance is only close, even from where it stands, the building looks very large.

Ten minutes he sat while looking at the passing vehicle, finally the awaited one came as well. The back door of the car was open, Khanza out of there. As usual, the woman was in a headscarf. How perfect this girl standing before him was.

“This,” he said while thrusting at Khanza his sociology book.

“Thank you, yes, Dhan,” Khan said as he received the book. “Tomorrow I'm back."

“Strickness. Relax just the next time. Zaa. Same with me doang.”

The woman smiled sweetly. As long as you know, Khanza is often smiling, but only a few people get that sweet smile. Example Dhan. At first he got the smile, when defeating Khanza in the rapport reception last December.

Khanza should have been disappointed because only that time he got a rank other than number one, but the woman instead smiled sweetly while congratulating Dhan.

“Then it was Monday I turned back,” he said directly Dhan bountyi with a nod. “Oh yes, Dhan. The one at school was your father?”

Usually Khanza does not want to know, that's why Dhan was astonished to listen to the classmate's question. “Hm,” replied Dhan while nodding, astonishment still plastered clearly on his face.

Khanza. “I've met him at the hotel where my brother works, said your father your boss.”

Important info but does not make Dhan want to know more. However, Khanza's hesitant face looked at Dhan, making him frown. Where's Khanza? why did his attitude change after telling me about Kenan?

“Sorry Dhan,” said the woman, looks doubtful. “It seems you don't know. I'm telling you, let's not get hurt.”

“What's up?” ask Dhan curiously.

Khanza looks not dare to look at him, the woman sighed then spoke again, “That time your father was the same woman. I've seen your mother, just once, anyway. But I'm sure it's not your mother.”

The invisible impulse rewinds Dhan from the intention to get closer to the woman. A sense of tightness and resentment spread completely, into the chest.he increasingly hated the man who casually showed the face in front of Khanza with other women who he believed was Viona.

“Iya, I already know.” Dhan swallowed his hard-earned saliva. “She's the future wife of the man”

🎉🎉🎉

"Nad, there's something I want to talk to you about" said Kenan following the woman's steps into the kitchen.

Dhan has disappeared behind the main door of the house. He offered to accompany his son, but was immediately rejected. Nada said there might be a friend that Dhan will meet at the stop.

"What?" tanya Nada who is now pouring water in the glass.

Kenan pulled up the dining chair and sat there. "Who was it yesterday?"

Nada glanced at a glance, before answering her question, "Father?"

The woman asked him back, honestly he did not know what the name of the man was. Yesterday was a hard day for him to realize the circumstances around, besides being aware of the fact that he was rejected by his son.

"Maybe" said Kenan.

"Friends," replied Short tone.

Kenan frowned listening to the woman's answer. "Prospective husband?" tanyanya, seconds later Nada who was drinking immediately coughed. "Slow\-slow." He was about to stand up to help the woman, but Nada's hand immediately signaled for him to be quiet on the spot.

The woman still coughed, patting her chest softly. After looking calm, Nada looked at him. "Dhan's coming home soon, I'm gonna wait for him in the living room."

Maybe they are still in the status of husband and wife, but for personal matters do not interfere with each other. Kenan's point is, Nada does not mind his relationship with Viona, so he also has no right to interfere with the woman's romance story.

"I hope he's a good man" he said, following Nada's steps.

Tone not responding.

They sat in the living room, waiting for Dhan's arrival in the dead. Yesterday Kenan said he would fix everything, including how to talk to Nada. As much as possible he used to use me\-you in their conversations.

"Are you sure, Dhan didn't stay at his friend's house?" kenan asked, worried that the man was running away from home.

Nada nods. "Dhan can't lie. Even if he lied, he would be quiet."

Kenan believed in the words of Nada, a woman who knew her son very well. That is, their son.

Dhan walked into the house with an angry expression. The man stared intently at Kenan, who stood up to find that his son had returned after almost half an hour out of the house.

"Om if you're just trying to embarrass me, say!"

"Dhan," rebuked Nada who did not make Dhan remove the angry expression.

"Tell this guy, don't ever go to my school again!" the boy then passed into the room by slamming the door.

"I'm sorry to him" said Nada to Kenan, who was still staring at the stairs.

"No, I'm wrong" he sat down on the couch he was sitting on. "i'm wrong, disrupt his life."

Nada shook her head even though Kenan did not see her, but he knew that the woman did not heed her words earlier.

"I want to rest" said Nada after it stood up leaving Kenan who was still pensive in the living room.

In this house there are only three rooms. Nada and Kenan had discussed it yesterday, he would occupy Nada's room while the woman would sleep in the restroom for the housekeeper who was no longer working. The woman relented, knowing that Kenan would not be able to sleep without air conditioning.

Kenan let the woman go to the room, leaving her who was also depressed because of this problem. Sitting pensively alone in the living room, he thought it would be easy if they were to return to discuss where the matter would be brought to.

Tone was hard to talk to, even though the woman was on his side. However, tonight he will force Nada to talk together.

A definite step towards the room occupied by Nada, the back of the hand tapped lightly.

"Nad, we need to talk about this" said Kenan.

The door opened immediately, Kenan's eye bead was immediately greeted with Nada's careless face. The woman opened the door wide, allowing him to enter.

"Before my father tells me to go back to Jakarta, I'll stay here." He sighed then cast a glance at the small cupboard in the corner of the room. "It's only been a few days, he knows I haven't been to the office for five days."

Kenan took a breath before saying his goal. "I'm sleeping here" he added, standing up and taking a pillow on the bed and putting it on the carpet.

"Intar your body pegel," prevent Nada when she is about to lie down. "Don't push yourself too much."

It may be too dangerous, but he will make sure nothing happens between them during the night.

"Ken," call Nada.

He let out a heavy sigh, eyes glaring towards the wall, choosing to turn his back on Tone. "You got any ideas, Nad?"

There's no answer.

"I want to hear your opinion" he added.

"I also do not know what to do," said Nada who he greeted with closed eyes, resigned tomorrow.
