Part 37 - The Effects of Traveling for Years

Regan and Laura have taken their two children, Vio and Iva, to school on the first day after Vio recovers from his illness. Everything felt normal, and the cheerful atmosphere of the morning gave Vio a new spirit.

A slow pat from Lea broke Vio's daydream, and he smiled looking at his classmates.

"Hi, Vio. Healing yet?" lea asked with sympathy.

"As you can see. You want to go to class? Let's go together," said Vio, extending his hand.

Lea happily accepted Vio's offer and took his hand. They both walked to class happily.

However, unbeknownst to the two, Iva was watching their interaction from a distance, and her expression was full of annoyance.

"Main stay. Apparently wanting to meet Lea, yes," Iva said in an annoyed tone, thinking that Vio had deliberately approached Lea.

Iva, though annoyed by Vio and Lea's closeness, knows that she must think carefully before acting. He didn't want to make trouble on the first day of school after Vio recovered from illness.

Iva decides to look for her other classmates and does not involve herself in her brother's affairs. While walking towards the classroom, she thought of ways to attract her friends and feel more special.

Meanwhile, Vio and Lea arrived in front of their class with cheerful smiles. They prepare to start the school day in high spirits.

In her room, Laura was preoccupied with stacking files. He even passed lunch time. The affairs of his two children, already handed to Naomi to pick him up. And all day, Laura didn't meet Regan at the company. It's possible that the man was also busy with his files. Until suddenly Mila entered his room non-relaxedly.

BRACKET!

"Miss Laura!!" call Mila surprise Laura.

"Why Mila? What was? Why are you panicking like that?"

"Young master Regan Fainted!!"

"W-what?? Where is he now? We're there now."

"In her room" Mila had not yet finished speaking, Laura had already dashed out of the room.

Now the two ran down the corridor towards the main hall.

"Mr Elwin has already called the Young Master's personal physician. Miss don't have to worry."

"Faster a bit, Mila!"

"Miss!! I'm tired, huh... Why don't we just take the elevator?!"

When she reached Regan's room, Laura opened the door of the main room. It made some people in it surprised.

"Regan!" call Laura to look for Regan's whereabouts.

"What about the situation?" ask Laura to Elwin.

"The doctor is dealing with the Master, Miss!" answer Elwin.

Not long after, the Doctor came out of the room available in Sean's room working it.

"As I said, if Mr. Regan is too exhausted. His condition will be decreasing. And again, Mr. Regan shouldn't mind much for now" said the Doctor.

And said back, "Please take care of Mr. Regan. The medicine should not be late to take. And again, don't leave Mr. Regan alone, it'll keep the mind from focusing everywhere, and it'll further interfere with his health."

"We will take good care of him. Thank you, Doctor!"

"If so, I'm sorry." The doctor exited the room and followed Uncle Baran to escort him away.

While inside, Elwin looked at Laura who had been staring at him full of question marks.

"Want in?" elwin asked on the doorstep.

Laura nodded, and Elwin escorted Laura into the private room.

Inside the room, Regan was lying with her pale face. Laura and Elwin were both staring. Not knowing what Laura was thinking, her heart ached at Regan's weak state.

"When has he been like this? Didn't she have no history of pain?" ask Laura.

"2 years after your departure with no news, his life is falling apart. He rarely sleeps, eats, even to take care of himself. In the last 5 years, his condition has become weaker. He's too crazy to work, and most of the time he's used to looking for you and his son. Regan has nightmares about you. In every dream he always calls your name. And every time he has a bad dream, a moment later his condition will decline, as you can see now."

Laura immediately looked at Elwin, surprised by what Elwin explained to her.

Laura heard Elwin's explanation with a face full of mixed feelings. Sad, guilty, and worried. He never imagined that his departure from Regan's life would have such a big impact on the man.

Elwin approached Laura with an empathetic attitude. "Miss Laura, don't do that. It's not Miss' fault. Regan's always looking for Miss and the kids, that's what's stressing her out. For Regan, Miss and the kids are everything."

Laura looked at Regan who was still lying weakly.

Elwin nodded in understanding. "Mr Regan will definitely be very happy to see Miss here and worry about her."

The two of them sat around Regan's bed, waiting for her consciousness to return.
