I'm your Dad

I'm your Dad
Part 32 - Family Obstacles

Regan and Laura drive their youngest child to school, before they leave for the office. But the quarrel between mother and child also did not stop while they were in the car. Instead of separating, Regan instead smiled seeing this moment in front of her.

"There!! Quick down!!" laura said in a hurried tone as the car stopped in front of the school gate.

"Mother kicked me out? Eoh, so evil," said Iva with a hint of melancholy.

"Mom doesn't have time, Iva. You can be late to the office. Quick down!!" Laura warned.

However, instead of quickly following her mother's orders, Iva instead deliberately sat back still in the car.

"You're why from earlier make mom upset continue. Hurry down there, and get in!! Or I cut your pocket money." threatened Laura.

"Iva can ask dad," said Iva with a naughty smile, winking one eye at Regan who had just been silent watching the two from the steering bench. Regan knew very well how much the two of them often fought like this.

"Mom will confiscate your phone for 3 months!!"

"Yeah... This Iva also wants to get off."

After Iva said goodbye and got out of the car, there were 2 adults left in it.

"What do you see? Run car! I'm too late" said Laura.

"You don't have to be afraid of getting angry, no one will scold you while going with her boss" Regan replied in a calm tone, smiling.

"I don't need your defense. You're not my boss anyway!!" Laura replied with a firm tone.

"I just realized, you look prettier if you're angry like this," Regan said with a gentle smile as she spurred the car towards their company, trying to ease the tension in the air.

...***...

Vio is still not fully recovered from his leg injury and has not been able to attend school. Her days are filled with the presence of her aunt, Tania, who patiently takes care of her and comforts her.

Tania sat next to Vio in the living room, reciting the children's stories to cheer him up. They both enjoyed the moment, although Vio still felt a little frustrated at not being able to play or go to school as usual.

"When can I go to school again, Auntie?" asked Vio with a sad expression.

Tania replied softly, "Patience yes, son. Your feet need time to heal completely. The doctor said, you need to rest to get well soon."

Vio nodded, despite still feeling homesick for his friends at school. Tania tries to distract Vio with interesting stories, and they both laugh cheerfully.

Vio's recovery takes time, but with the support of his family and the attention of Tania, he knows that he's not alone in dealing with it.

"Have they left?" asked Vio with curiosity.

"They just left. Want some breakfast now?" Tania offers.

After getting an answer from Vio, Tania went to the kitchen for a while and returned with a tray filled with breakfast. Although Vio initially tries to resist by saying that he can eat by himself, Tania gently bribes him.

"Auntie, was Regan's father the one who drove Iva and mom?" ask Vio with curiosity.

"Yes, Regan brought your sister and your mother. Why?" Tania answered while giving Vio a spoonful of food.

"What do you expect, hum?" Tania asked, suspecting that there was something that Vio did not tell her.

"Just hope you don't want to go with her. I hope Vano's father returns soon. So that he can take care of the mother," said Vio with anxious feelings.

Tania looked at the lowered Vio. She feels sad to see Vio's worry and desire not to see her parents together. Despite the complicated situation, Tania will always be next to Vio and try to provide as much support as she can.

Tania felt it was important to give Vio a good understanding of the difference between a biological father and a conjoined father. Although the situation was a bit complicated as Regan initially did not acknowledge the fetus Laura conceived, Tania tried to explain gently.

"Vio, the man you consider a father now, Vano, is a father. That means, she may not be biological, but she loves and cares deeply for you, Iva, and your mother, Laura," Tania tried to explain.

Vio listened seriously, trying to understand what his aunt was explaining.

"Before, there had been trouble and confusion, but as time went on, your father Regan had been trying to be a good father to both of you. He has changed and loves you sincerely" Tania added.

Vio pondered for a moment, digesting Tania's words.

Tania smiled. "Vio, you're a lucky kid to have two dads, your real dad, Regan, who's going back to mending relationships, and your extended dad, Vano, who's always been there for you."

However, Vio shook his head firmly. "But, aunt, if I can I don't want to be the lucky kid who has two fathers. It's hard for me to accept!"

Tania felt sympathy for Vio, understanding that the child's feelings could not be changed with words alone. He hugged Vio gently, providing support and understanding, while still understanding the complexity of the child's feelings.

...***...

At 12 p.m., at the company where Regan and Laura are, the office atmosphere is busy. Regan, who was planning a lunch together with Laura, walked towards Laura's desk with a smile on her face.

"Laura, are you ready for lunch?" ask Regan kindly.

Laura lifted her head from her work and looked at Regan with a doubtful expression. He was not too happy with this idea.

"Sorry, I have a lot of work to do today. I don't have time to have lunch together" Laura refused in a stern tone.

Regan tried to stay calm and understand, "Laura, we can take a short break. It's an opportunity to talk and make peace. I want to mend our relationship, and lunch together can be a good start."

Laura was still reluctant, "Don't think this will change everything."

Regan smiled, respecting Laura's decision.

"If so, come on!"

Laura just stared indistinctly at the man standing in front of her desk.

"You're not forgetting to pick up our daughter's school, are you?"

"My daughter!! I can pick him up myself."

"We're leaving now, before he gets home first."

Regan put Laura's phone lying on the table into the bag, then her right hand took over and carried Laura's bag, while her left hand grabbed Laura's hand, grasped it and pulled it gently to rush off to pick up their baby.
