It's been two days since Vio was transferred to the hospital room, and since last night Vio has had a high fever.
"How's my child's fever?" ask Laura to the nurse.
The nurse replied, "His temperature is still high, ma'am. It seems that from earlier the son of the mistress called his father on, maybe if his father here the state of the son of the mistress can be a little calm."
Laura was silent at the nurse's words.
The door of the room opened, and a man in a neat suit with a fruit basket in his hand entered.
"I'm his father. Has the fever not come down yet?" regan asked, as he walked into the nursery.
"No, Mister. I gave him medicine. From that moment your son called you on." said the nurse.
"alright. Thank you." Thank you."
The nurse was quiet after refilling the drained infusion. It left Laura and Regan who were fighting in silence.
"Is Iva home?" ask Regan.
"Yes. He went home with his father. She has to go to school." answered Laura coldly.
The two are silent to each other. And just stared at his son who was lying limp on the bed. Until the agitated stirring of Vio disperse the reverie of both.
"Mother.." his hoarse and weak voice.
"Yes, honey... It's mommy. You need anything? Should I call a doctor?"
"Dad.." he said again.
"Dad here, son. Is anyone sick?"
Regan rubbed Vio's head gently, while Laura clasped her son's hand. Vano's eyes were still closed, as he seemed to be delirious.
"Dad Vano... Don't leave! Don't leave Vio! Stay here with me, I have no other father but you."
Regan is stunned when she hears her son is not calling her, the father in question. His feelings were shattered one of his children apparently did not want the figure of his biological father.
"Dad. And I'm not leaving Vio. Open your eyes, you're always here."
Laura looked at Regan meaningfully, then looked at her son who was still fumbling with his eyes closed. And without them both realizing, from earlier a man stood beside the door he had just opened, just silent by staring at the three.
Vano put his ego aside, and ended up continuing his pace towards Vio's bed. Greet Regan and smile at Laura.
"How's Vio doing?" ask Vano.
"He just called you. The fever has not yet come down. And from that moment he slept deliriously. I'm worried about her condition." replied Laura.
Then, say back. "Laura, can we talk to you for a second?" ask Vano.
"Hmmm... We'll just talk outside." Laura hurried to leave. "I... Get out for a while, and be right back. Please take care of Vio for a moment!" laura said to Regan.
Regan did not answer. His eyes looked at the two people's departure.
Vano and Laura walked together to the hospital garden, looking for a quieter place to talk. Both feel that there is a lot they need to discuss, especially after the recent events.
They found a bench under a shady tree, the perfect place to talk. Laura is still full of worries about Vio's health, while Vano tries to find the right words to address the situation.
"Vano, this really worries me," Laura said in a trembling voice. "I've never seen Vio so weak like this before."
Vano nodded in agreement, trying to give Laura some support. "I'm also very worried, Laura. But Vio is a strong boy. I'm sure he'll get through this well."
Laura looked at Vano with a questionable expression. "Vano, why did you suddenly come to the hospital? What's going on?"
Vano pondered for a moment before answering. "Sister Tania told me that you were in the hospital with Regan. I can't just sit still when Vio is in this condition. We should be united as a family in these situations."
Laura felt touched by Vano's presence. Although they have a complicated history, in such precarious circumstances, parental instinct and love for their children take over. "Thank you, Vano, you've come. It means a lot to me."
Vano smiled gently. "We have to support each other, Laura. Whatever happens, Vio is our son, and we should be together for him."
They continued their conversation about Vio and their feelings as parents. Although the problems between them still exist, they both realize that at this time the most important thing is the health and happiness of their children. May this be the starting point for restoring their family relationships.
"Then what do you want to talk to me yourself?" ask Laura.
"Laura, I won't mince words now! You know if I loved you long ago, I always waited until you could really accept me, and I would do anything for the sake of your happiness and the children. But now, I already know the reason why you can't accept me. I know that maybe the wound he scratches in your heart will never go away, but try to throw away your ego, because at the bottom of your heart, you still love him, you still love him, and the children also need the presence of his father."
"And I never get tired of reminding you. No matter how bad he was, he was still the twin's father. I'm sure he's very sorry for what he did, and he deserves another chance to account for everything. Please, you give him a chance, and you open your heart back to him."
"See what your heart says. Realize that you still want him as the father of your children. Don't worry, I'll love you and the kids. Maybe you're not my soul mate." Vano said at length.
Whether it had been since when, Laura had already cried hearing the words of the man in front of her. Even the man's hand grips are getting tighter holding his tiny hand.
"Lusa... I'm going back to Canada."
Laura was surprised. Laura who was sitting with her head lowered, then raised her head to look at Vano who was standing before her.
"You're going? Was that the feeling Vio had? You didn't hear what Vio's request of you? He told you to stay with him, because you're his father! And you even have the heart to leave him. Hasn't a single man ever accepted my son?" said Laura with a slightly snapping tone.
"I think my presence here will further distance Vio and his biological father!" vibrate Vano. He felt a tightness in his chest.
Not that she didn't want to be here with her son, but nature knew that she was nothing to them. He was not the man who made those two children present in this world. So, he had to bear despite the pain felt, and now must be willing to let go. Already since childhood taking care of them sincerely, it was enough for him. He was satisfied to have played a good role so that the two innocent children did not lose the father figure.
