Life Becomes Duke's Beloved

Life Becomes Duke's Beloved
Chapter 1 Baroness Abela Isla

Ghotel looked at the unfamiliar face he saw in front of him. The face of a beautiful adult woman. A servant combed his long hair that glittered like gold. The woman's face stunned the Ghotel. He used to do all forms of magic to make his face as attractive as possible.

"Hey, what's your name?" The ghotel asked the waiter who brushed his hair.

The waiter did not answer, his eyes glazed over. The reflection of his face in the mirror looks very sad. How not, last night when her mistress woke up, suddenly her employer was hysterical and shouted that she did not want to live. Even the lover whom he loved so much could not calm him down.

The fact that it turned out his famous employer was so kind-hearted. Not knowing anyone who was in this house, even forgetting himself made the servant feel sad.

The waiter smiled before replying, "My name is Hana, madam."

"Hana? Then who am I, my name and all. Explain to me" Ghotel ordered. Ghotel has no other choice but to temporarily accept his destiny and live life again as the person he sees in the mirror.

"Mrs' name, Abela Isla. You are a baron, you are thirty-two years old, you have one thirteen year old son. Your son is staying in the dorm for now" Hana explained slowly.

"Sons ...." Ghotel said softly. I don't know why he felt sentimental.

"Yes madam, you want the young master to come home?" Hannah asked again.

"No. No need," Ghotel replied quickly. "Then? What else?"

"Everything you want to know?" ask Hana carefully.

"My son's father and others?" Ghotel is very sure that question is what makes Hana's face more moody.

"Sorry madam, your husband died six years ago. When an evil witch unleashes a monster in the middle of town."

"Witch?" Ghotel believes that Hana meant him. He used to make a mess everywhere.

"But don't worry, the witch is gone. Duke Armand finished him off. Duke Armand was the mistress' current lover. She's the one who tried to calm the madam down when the mistress was hysterical." Hana's explanation is enough to make Ghotel convinced that yesterday's man was the knight who killed him.

"When? When did he kill the witch?" ask Ghotel. He wondered how long he had slept in that realm until he was summoned to this mortal realm again.

"Two years ago, the madam also met the Duke's master at a celebration party for the knights who had managed to defeat the witch."

Beat what? Ghotel admits, Armand is very strong and his sword is very special. But if only he did not allow himself to be killed then the celebration would not exist. And it had been two years since he was declared to be leaving this world. Disappointing why he had to come back.

"Alright Hana, now tell me about this Duke."

"Hm ... Duke Armand was the younger brother of the current reigning king. He is third in line for the throne, after the crown prince and the second prince. He's a very strong knight. No one can beat him. It's a secret yes ma'am, but there are some people who consider the Duke more worthy to be king because he is very strong. But of course he doesn't have that desire." Hana was explaining while braiding her long hair.

"The Duke's personal life was quite complicated, before the mistress met him, he had already been married three times. All her marriages failed. He even brought a child that he would make heir. It is said that the boy was the Duke's son outside of marriage. That kid is fifteen now. The boy was already very close to the mistress and considered his own mother's mistress." Hana continued her long story.

Hana's done styling Abela's hair - a man possessed by Ghotel's soul. Hana is getting ready to put on a dress for her lady. Surprisingly, her mistress seemed uncomfortable with the corset Hana was wearing. Although Hana finally managed to dress it perfectly.

"You'll have breakfast with Duke Armand. So you have to sleep in another room because the madam kicked him out." There was laughter in the words Hana said.

"Do we always sleep together?" Abela's question answered Hana's reddened face which clearly looked embarrassed. Hana avoided Abela's eyes and laughed nervously.

The ghotel ignored him. He kept looking at his face in the mirror while muttering little. "My name is Abela Isla, my name is Abela Isla."

Abela looked at Armand who was sitting opposite to her. On a round table that is under a gazebo in the middle of a flower garden. Hana drove him here, saying that breakfast in the flower garden might help her memory a little.

"What do you see, baby?" ask Armand who inexplicably made Abela creep. Not because of the question but because of Armand's call to her.

"You look very comfortable eating in other people's homes." Abela's reply made everyone freeze. Although Abela now does not remember that Armand is her lover. But Hana has reminded that based on the order of nobility, Armand is much higher than Abela.

"Of course, I'm always comfortable eating and sleeping here Abela. In your home, I never felt the need to be vigilant. And vice versa, the last time you visited my residence, you also looked very comfortable as usual." Armand explained gently and carefully. His low voice was not as cold as it used to be, like the last Ghotel heard it.

"alright. Sir as you know, I don't really remember the relationship that happened between us. Can you not visit too often" said Abela straightforwardas. Not a question but a statement.

"Isn't it better to the contrary? We have to meet often so you can remember it sooner." Armand's words made sense. But still Abela did not want to meet the man who had finished him off - finishing off the Ghotel - too often.

"I just want to remember the things that are important in my life first." Abela said that quietly while sipping her tea. Making Armand wrinkle his forehead before smiling.

"You knew? Those are the most painful words I hear from you." Armand was honest. Abela never made her feel uncomfortable like this. This was the first time Abela had rejected him. From the words earlier, Abela asserted that she is not important in Abela's life now.

"Thus ... I think ... I'm done eating." Abela moved out of her chair awkwardly. He wanted to leave immediately in the presence of Armand. Seeing Armand's face gave off unpleasant memories. Especially the memory of the pain he felt as Armand's sword pierced through his chest.

As Abela stepped, Armand held her back with one hand coiled around her stomach. Abela was surprised by Armand's rapid movements.

"Abela ..." whispered Armand. "When can I not see you?"

"I'll send you a letter if I'm ready to see you again." Abela strangely said that without stuttering. Slightly gulped nervously as he felt a kiss on the side of his neck. Slowly Armand's lips traced the side of his cheek. Plastered his lips long enough there.

"All right I'll wait" whispered Armand right in Abela's ear. Abela tried to let go of Armand's coiled hand on her stomach and ran away.

Along with her quick footsteps, Abela's face heated up. His heart was beating faster than usual. Abela wanted to immediately hide from the sight of the eyes that still saw her walking away. Arriving at a recreation room, Abela closed the door and took her breath. Then blow it to calm down. In between his heartbeat that sounded echoing in the eardrum. Abela reflexively touched the cheek where Armand kissed her earlier. Remembering him made his face even more red.
