Bastian was transfixed with a puzzled face, what should he do in that situation. For the first time she saw Orlando cry like that. Maybe this isn't the first time Bastian saw Abela crying. But still, seeing the two of them crying in silence was painful.
Bastian turned his head towards the door as it opened. And for a long time, Bastian finally felt happy to see his father come. Armand entered the room with calm steps. Before he saw Abela and Orlando who were crying.
Armand asked Bastian with the look in his eyes. Which Bastian answered by shrugging his shoulders. Armand finally chose to sit beside Orlando and pull the child into his awkward embrace.
Slowly trying to calm down the crying teenage boy stuck in his chest. Armand sighed, he did not know what he had to say. When was the last time he calmed a crying child?
"You calm down?" armand asked as Orlando distanced himself from her.
Orlando wiped his tears. Then drink the tea that Bastian thrust on him. Then he looked at Abela who was crying too.
"Why are you crying?" ask Orlando to Abela.
Abela was wiping away the trace of her tears with a handkerchief given by Bastian. He looked at Orlando and snorted rather loudly.
"It wasn't me, your mother was crying" Abela replied.
"Huh?"
"Your mother's body ... Reacting alone, this has nothing to do with me" Abela said.
"Why are you crying?" armand asked somewhat impatiently. It would be a waste if he asked Bastian.
"I only remember my mother .." answered Orlando softly.
Upon hearing Orlando's reply, Armand's gaze turned to Abela, asking for an answer as well.
"I cried because I saw the child crying" Abela replied casually.
Armand paused for a moment thinking about what response he should give this time.
"Thus ... What were you talking about earlier?" ask Armand at last. He waited for one of them to speak and explained in more detail.
"You came here to make a contract with this witch," Orlando replied without any fear at all.
"Okay, then?" ask Armand again.
"I refused because it sounded absurd." Abela's turn answered.
"What are you asking for?" ask Armand to Orlando.
Orlando, didn't answer like that. He looks a little misbehaved and a little embarrassed. Orlando looked at his feet. Somehow the marble floors of the palace look very attractive now.
"Is the floor more interesting than my question?" armand asked as if splitting Orlando's head.
Orlando gasped and looked at Armand again, and he gulped before replying, "I want you to get married so you can be my guardian" Orlando said.
Armand raised his eyebrows, what was this kid talking about? Of course she'll be Orlando's guardian. Why would Orlando think Armand wouldn't be his guardian? Armand was just about to say what was inside his head, if only Bastian hadn't stepped on his shoes so clearly. Shaking his head slightly as Armand looked at him.
"Why don't you want to marry me?" finally, that question came out of Armand's lips.
Abela looked at Armand with a look of disbelief. Why would that man ask that. Isn't it quite clear why Abela couldn't marry Armand? Does Armand have to be reminded once more that he's not Abela's lover?
Abela was about to open her mouth to reply to Armand's words. But he locked his intentions away as he looked at Orlando's eyes that still looked watery.
"Orlando, we'll talk about this together. Get used to talking to me before coming to him" Armand said.
Orlando replied with a small nod. He hugged Mossie who looked very calm since they came.
"Then ...." Bastian paused on his words. He was flashing at Orlando with the corner of his eye. "You still want to be here?" ask Bastian at last.
"Why should I be here?" Orlando repeated Bastian's question. Make Bastian roll his eyes.
"I mean ... Let's quickly get out of this room, these adults ...." Bastian pointed at Armand and Abela alternately, "They need to talk," Bastian said again.
"I'm leaving" Orlando told Armand.
Armand replied to her with a faint smile. He nodded slightly and gave a warning look to Bastian who was smiling quite widely.
After the children left, Abela heaved a sigh of relief. He calmly moved out of his chair and began to undress in front of Armand.
Armand should not mind that, as it had become a habit for him. But somehow this time he wanted to turn his face that was already heating up.
"I can't believe you're still casually undressing in front of me" Armand said flatly.
"Why? Have you seen this body so often?" abela asked, sounding provocative.
"You're right ... I don't mind. Of course," Armand replied, turning to look at Abela again.
The woman had already changed her clothes with a silk nightgown. The thin, shiny sheet of cloth was stuck to his body which was definitely not wearing anything anymore.
"Thus ... You and I, we're not getting married, are we?" ask Abela.
"Why do you assume that?"
"Because I'm not Abela your lover?" Abela replied in a questioning tone. Makes Armand laugh.
"Why are you laughing?" asked Abela in wonder.
Abela felt she was not trying to be funny or make jokes. But somehow Armand's laughter didn't bother him at all.
"It's okay, hearing you say that after taking off your clothes in front of me, it's quite unique," Armand's opponent stopped his laughter.
"Come on," Abela replied slightly riled up.
"Why did you refuse him? That's not a bad thing. Don't we? It's impossible to marry me means bad." Armand said quite confidently. Made Abela roll her eyes.
"You're always full of yourself" Abela replied with an upset voice.
Armand laughed again, he gave Abela instructions to approach with his hands. And like magic, Abela complies with Armand's hand gestures. From starting to tell him to come closer to sitting on Armand's lap.
"I love this atmosphere" whispered Armand softly.
Abela somehow got annoyed with the threads on Armand's sleeve and cleaned it by hand.
"You even dared to pet me" said Armand infuriatingly.
Abela stared intently at Armand after hearing the man's comment. Abela did not expect that Armand could hardly joke around with her again.
"You have to convince Orlando that you're going to be his guardian, without having to marry me" Abela said.
"And if I don't want to?" ask Armand again.
Abela felt Armand was toying with her, she was eager to strangle the man. But Armand laughed again.
"You have to look at the expression on your face this time" Armand said.
Abela glared at Armand, she was actually tired and wanted to lie down. But somehow Armand's hand that was coiled around his waist would not come off. Armand's laughter stopped and they began to look at each other.
"It's a shame, right? but I'm going to marry you anyway" Armand said, half sounding sincere and serious. The other half sounded like it was teasing Abela.
Abela widened her eyes ready to argue with Armand at any time. I don't know why Abela wasn't upset at all. He was just shocked to hear Armand's words.
"Hm ..are you kidding me, right?" ask Abela again. Want to be reassured if Armand seriously says that.
"Yes ... Marry me."
