Metanoia; The Hybrid
CHAPTER 49: A PROVING OPPORTUNITY.

"It would be futile, not even its fertilization happened!" Said another Healer who was Rose's subordinate.

"They brought seven Vampire women but none of them succeeded. Their eggs are fused, unable to accept cells from Lycanthrope. What are we supposed to do, Rose?" Ask the others.

The frustrated Rose could only sit down and look at the seven women lying in front of him. "It's over... It is impossible to create anything beyond our ability... I'm afraid, we've crossed the line"

"Rose... Fertilization in this woman seems to work..."

Rose was surprised, rushing over to the sleeping woman. A speck of light appeared on the glowing dust flying above him, a small light that was right above the woman's belly. The glowing dust reflects all over her body, the Wizards use it to see the new life in the woman's womb. For some other reason, a chronic disease is also declared alive when a speck of light appears on the picture.

Rose raised her head again, making sure that the faint light was real. Even he tried to repel the light, but in reality it was still hanging among the glowing dust.

"Take her to the treatment room" Rose orders the male nurse who is cleaning the other women. They rushed the woman out of the room to move her.

Rose was still silent, her chaotic thoughts turning into a great confusion. Of course, who wouldn't believe knowing that the experiment was successful after so long and so many failed attempts. Rose swung her hand, collected the glowing dust and scattered it in the air. Then he turned around, with quick steps out of the room, towards the room where Adam and his two close associates were.

The door opened, the Elders who were meeting back then were shocked at Rose's hurried arrival.

"Hey, don't you see the light on that door?" Asked one of the Elders while pointing towards the top corner of the door that had a bright red radiant crystal. Red luminous crystals are used to indicate that a meeting is in progress, but when the light turns green, then anyone is allowed to enter.

Rose bowed, "I'm sorry, but I want to say something."

Adam got up from his seat, "What is that?"

Rose's bead met Adam's eyes, the reassuring look made Adam realize something,

"The release was successful."

We are not allowed to bring supplies, but we can only carry one of the most useful objects. Of course I bring it to my own, it will be very useful in any situation.

"What did you bring?" Ask Jack to Chlea.

"I brought this cloth, just in case to make a tent" replied Chlea.

"You know, I've got a rope. Don't know what it's going to be for" Ardan pointed out a thick rope that looked very strong. Good thing, my group will be fine with one thing like this. Because we've been through it together.

"The names I mentioned please stand to the side. I'm going to start reading to the members of group 1" said Mr. Harald.

Wait, so the group is really at random? And sure enough, they made groups of 7 people from different nations. That means, there's no way I'm in the same group as my own clan. I will definitely be in his group with other people.

After the group read, I sat down and wished I had the best people.

"Group 5. Xavier, Castiel, Iris, Piers, Dylan, Luca and..."

And I hope I'm not with them. Our relationship hasn't been good, after all, and it's going to mess with the group itself.

"And.. Gara."

I got up from my seat on the ground, left Chlea and the others, and stood beside my group of people, beside Dylan.

We continued to stand until everyone was already in their own group.

Suddenly Mr. Arthur reopened the Pentagram Demon in front of us, "You're about to begin the test. After entering the pentagram, you will arrive at the forest set aside for your test. You will find no one but the animals, you will be in the forests of the Fysikossilian County of Irrinshire. However, you won't find another group, because this exam uses a different dimension so you can focus on yourself."

We're gonna survive in the woods, am I with them? I'm sure none of us will ever make it. Just look, they're throwing faces away and away from me, like I'm not in this group, except for Dylan who's right next to me. Sometimes he glances at me as if to say that there is no need to pay attention to them.

"Remember! Teamwork is the most important thing!" Said Mr. Michael.

Then, one by one the group entered into the Pentagram Demon. Until me and my group got a turn. I just kept quiet, preparing to feel the pain of that time as I moved dimensions into the demon world.

And sure enough, the feeling came. As if recognizing my presence, a pitch-black room that had a red pattern of images of the inhabitants of hell sprang up, welcoming me as all the pain in my body.

Until I got down on my knees when I got to a different place. I coughed until I pulled a little blood out of my mouth. Gradually, I began to be able to control myself and woke up slowly.

Wait, something's weird here. Where are all my group of friends? I turned around and looked around, there was no sign of them, not even Dylan was here.

Strange, I remember the words of the teachers, we will arrive together. But why am I alone in the forest....

"Wow.." Just like that I was amazed when I saw a whole forest that was foreign to me. The trees are so high towering, the leaves that accumulate up there make this forest almost unattainable by light.

I look up when I hear something. I was hoping it was my friends, but it was just a herd of deer whose horns were filled with glowing spots. They walked together through a calm-looking stream, far ahead.

The spots of light not only swarm the horns of the herd of deer, it turns out that the spots of light also surround the roots of trees, wild plants, on the mushrooms that sprinkle a strange sparkle, even on dead and mossy stems.

"Him! Her nyaa!!"

That little voice I could hear around my ears. I swung my hand slowly, until I realized above my head was full of glowing spots.

One of the hundreds over my head flew into my face. I looked at it carefully, and it was a kind of a very small fairy. Their bodies glowed with wings that let out flying dust.

I was confused, I was not a Fairy clan who could understand the language of the fairies.

"What are you talking about?" I asked while letting this little elf land on my index finger.

"Him!" With his small hand, he pointed towards another forest.

"What's in there?"

"Him!!" He flew and pulled my index finger, as if to take me in the direction he wanted. However, this is not my purpose in coming here. I need to find my friends first.

"Him!!"

But seeing her take pains trying to move my hand, made me feel pity.

"All right."

I followed his request. Immediately I walked towards the bushes there. Then I saw someone lying on the ground. Once I got close, it turned out to be Piers!

"Piers..get up!" I lifted his head and shook his body to wake him up. Slowly Piers blinked his two beads and finally realized Gara's existence.

"The way! Thank goodness I met you!"

Piers cried and immediately hugged me. I don't understand, didn't he stay away from me, we didn't even talk all this time. But why are Piers suddenly like this? He looks so scared.

"Hey.. You why?" I was trying to calm Piers down.

"I've been looking for you all day, I think I've been lost. I asked the fairies and the trees, but they didn't see where you were" she explained.

"Everyday? But Piers, didn't we just get here 5 minutes earlier?"

My question leaves Piers speechless. Wait, this is so weird. We had just entered the portal for the second test, but why did Piers say he had been in this forest all day and looked for our whereabouts?

"There's something wrong. Maybe our displacement went wrong, so we arrived in this forest at different intervals" I said.

"M-maybe..."

I stood up and helped Piers to get up, "We have to find the others."

"Wait, how did you find me here?"

I pointed at the speck on the index finger, "This thing is leading me."

"Fertility girl!" Screeches Piers.

"Fertility girl?"

Piers nodded, "They are the fairies who regulate the fertility of the plant. They are forgetful, sometimes when there are animals that catch their attention, they will leave work and play with the animals."

"Oh, so..."

Then suddenly a fawn ran past us. Then a bunch of believable spots in my head flew after the fawn, as did one of the fairies who helped me find Piers. Now, it's just the two of us. What am I supposed to do?

"I thought you were afraid of me? We haven't talked all this time, and you always leave when you see me" I said as I walked away from Piers. However, my plan made him follow me successfully. Like a kitten who lost its mother, Piers followed me behind.

"I also don't understand why I'm like that.. You know, we can't get rid of our natural fears, can we?" Her speech.

"That's right, you're afraid of me?" I asked to find a definite answer.

"I told you, I don't understand, Gara. I'm not afraid of you, but... Uh! Anyway I don't understand..." Piers clucked in annoyance.

"Nothing, just tell me" I stopped stepping and turned to look at him.

The two Piers eye beads that were pointing at me were really so pretty, it had been a long time since I had met those eye beads, it felt like the world was doing fine if he looked at me. So soothing.

"You know, the Fairy people have instincts almost like animals? Ever since the night the news about you I heard, I kept feeling scared of you. No, but with what's inside you. It was just like hibernating, he seemed calm but sometimes his breath made my heart beat. I can really feel something inside you, Gara... That's why me and the others"

"Seek me for something unreal?" Cut me.

"That's real! Something is real deep inside you!" Piers put his index finger on my chest.

"I just don't know for sure what that thing is..."

I clasped Piers' hand tightly and looked at him seriously, "I'm out of my mind to deliberately frighten you and everyone in the Academy. None of us know the future, but I'll make sure I never get you and the others hurt. It won't be one bit. So, I beg of you. Give me a chance to prove it. I don't want our friendship to end just like that."

Piers fell silent then lowered his head, "You're a very powerful Alpha. I can't even keep staring at you. No wonder Chela keeps praising you."

"I'm sorry I left you in your hardest moments. Supposedly, as a friend I wouldn't easily believe history just like that" he hugged me. I returned his embrace.

Strange, it feels so relieved.
