Metanoia; The Hybrid

Metanoia; The Hybrid
CHAPTER O5: TO SHARED OUR BOND.

I don't know what those ex-Hunters were talking about there. But, as if they were having fun. After getting acquainted and making sure all our luggage was ready, suddenly there was a horse carriage from another kingdom that came too late. The chariot was purple with gold, as was the case with the other royal chariots.

There came out a big man who was part of the former Hunter. He led someone out of there. The curly yellow-haired boy came out with his floating suitcase.

"Well, what is this meeting" he said and stood with us.

"I'm Luca Okeanos, from the Kingdom of Terpsychore in Chazterfield Country. Greetings" he introduced himself. We welcome him as well.

"This is the first time I've seen the Wizard Nation" Cassandra said.

He laughed, "This is also the first time I've seen something as uncontrollable as that."

He stared at me until the others looked at me. I don't understand what this kid is saying.

"Kids, let's go in. Bring your things and follow Mr. Hector" Chairoz said, then went and talked to his Hunter flock. I don't think he's coming in with us.

The old man with a happy look also invited us to step over the gap that became the entrance of the Academy. It turned out that this gap was quite large even for a horse carriage. As I stepped into the gap that became the entrance, I felt bad.

It was as if something was holding my whole body until I couldn't move my legs. That feeling was bothering my head a lot, but I forced myself to step up.

Then when I got through it, all of a sudden the flock of birds in this forest flew. Like something had happened that scared them.

"You why? You're exhausted like that" asked Dylan.

"It's okay."

When I lifted my head, I saw an open carriage pulled by two horses, the carriage had 2 parts joined together with its puller.

"Come, ride!" Mr.sway. Hectors.

Everyone was immediately excited to put the suitcases to the back of the train, then ride on the front alternately.

"This academy is not like the Academy in Urcmoonth" Dylan said as he laid down his belongings.

"You keep comparing."

"You just don't understand, Gara."

"All right."

I immediately put my luggage down and after Dylan, I climbed on top of him with the others.

The train began to walk, in the middle of the forest with tall trees towering upwards. Even the sunlight was barely pervaded by the leaves rubbing against it. I looked back, looking at Chairoz who was still with his flock.

The last I saw was him staring at me and nodding once, as if to say that I was going to be okay. I'm not really worried, after all, there are people I just met here.

"What's the long journey? I don't see any sign of this forest coming to an end" Piers, the Fairy Nation, said.

"Son, we just walked. We'll get to the Academy in about an hour" replied Mr. Hectors.

"Ohh so. It seems like this Academy is very ancient?" Xavier Protest.

"Then why do you want to enter this Academy?" Tanyaku.

"I entered the Academy because I was punished" Xavier said.

"Why?"

"I have a twin brother, his name is Lucier. He and I are very different. He was like the people in general, he was kind and gentle. But the more I grew up, I started to get sick of what he was doing, until I did something bad to him."

Cassandra responded to Xavier, "Do what?"

"I was babysitting Lucier, because he wouldn't share a book our grandfather gave us. His forehead was scratched, because I threw a decoration made of clay. Nothing made him cry that hard except me, even when he had to fall from a height was not comparable. Since then I can't control myself to do anything to anyone. It's like a pleasure when you hear someone crying because of you. I continue to do such things, to my servant's children, to the children of other kingdoms, or to the children of the city. Until my father's punishment no longer basked himself in the scorching sun without food. My father's last sentence is that I'm here" he said.

Xavier leaned back and looked at the sky without the crevices of the trees, "One thing I realized was that, from the moment I injured Lucier, he had never spoken to me as long as before. Sometimes it makes me regret. Every time he saw her pass me, the scar on his forehead became the center of attention for me."

"Why did you do it?" Ask Dylan.

"I don't understand. People thought the Demon Nation was a cruel monster that had no heart. But even my father could pity a street beggar. I don't understand it for myself. I never intended to hurt Lucier, but just like that I did."

"So you don't have a personal reason?" Ask Iris. However, Xavier simply nodded.

"You're here because of the punishment, I'm here because I'm forced to be strong" Iris smiled.

"Your father forced you?" Ask Luca.

"My father was gone decades before I existed, it was all because of my mother. In the Kingdom of Narmadia, I was the oldest of seven children. My mother gave me a personal training, taught by the Royal Knights. I could not follow the rules he made, indeed I was required to be strong, but maybe he forgot, he forgot, I was an eight-year-old little boy who was unnatural for him to give up while practicing swordsmanship for nearly twelve hours every day, or swimming an impossible distance, he said, or also control the water as he does."

Piers gaped, "That's crazy..."

Iris held her right cheek with her teary eyes, "Really, I hate her so much."

I patted her back, hoping she would be relieved for a moment.

"My condition is very different" Luca said after he secured his seat, "I'm not here because of punishment, or forced. I'm here because of my ridiculous desire, wanting to find a gemstone with my own hands, and some other object from the Danveurn State realm."

"New gem?" Ask Cassandra.

Luca laughed for a while, "We Wizards coexist with magic power. Gemstones or what we call Gemstones, are things that help us use magic, but are only used to help with daily activities. At a certain level of age and ability, the Wizard Nation could use useful magic as power, protection and healing. That was why the Wizard Nation Healer was known as a group of Healers who were extremely outstanding, no wonder they could concoct various herbs themselves with natural ingredients."

He took out a reddish-brown Gemstone from his pocket, "This is like an example."

"Gemstone what is it?" My toot.

"This is the fire Gemstone. Since I was a child and my abilities were unlike those of an adult, I could not create fire with my strength. Therefore I need this Gemstone to help me" explained Luca while plucking his finger and immediately the Gemstone burned.

Everyone was amazed by the magic that Luca had just done. He also made the stone float between his hands.

"Oh so, I understand" said Xavier who looked enthusiastic. Luca immediately stopped his action and put the stone back into place.

"By the way about goals, I'm here even for a personal assignment. The Angel nation can kill something too. We, every Angel, have one duty, which is to take the souls of living beings, and to declare them in a record of life. The souls will be gathered, until they meet an Immortal Crystal, which can make an Angel or other living creature revived when it dies. But, just for once. Naturally, we must re-assemble the souls of living beings again to get an Immortal Crystal back" Castiel spoke.

Iris put on a horrified face, "So you're here to take someone's soul?"

"Haha, everyone can kill. But the Angel Nation is not that cruel to gain its own advantage. If anyone is sick, or dying his life, we can know where he is and come to them disguised as those closest to him. We'll wait until his soul is at the end of his body, then we'll take it" Castiel added.

"People who are cruel are not not absent in the world, they are simply adapting, waiting for the right momentum to take action. I'm here to save myself. One week ago, my father passed away, because someone sabotaged his treatment. Since I was a child, the throne has not yet come down to me, the Uva kingdom is currently controlled by my uncle. At first I thought my life would go on as usual, but the days changed, my uncle became rude to me. Until finally," Piers who was telling the story suddenly stopped.

He turned his back on us, took off his clothes, and no one had the chance to close Cassa's eyes. Piers' body changed color, becoming bluish green. Her ears are elongated, like a typical Fairy. Then slowly came out a wing from two points on Piers's back, "He broke my wing."

Right, one of his two wings had a long incision, to the end, almost splitting his left wing. The wings are not like the wings of the Angel Nation and the Demon are hairy, thick, and large. The wings of Piers are like a glass that is soft like silk to the touch. It has stripes like a leaf bone. Not great, if flapped it might be now as big as a Piers hand. Cassa who saw it was even amazed because of its beauty.

"Can you still use it?" My toot.

Piers returned to his clothes, "I don't know. Every time I try to fly, but it doesn't work."

"I'll try to help you, as I wish, there's magic that can help repair a broken limb" Luca gave his best smile.

"Dylan?" Cassa was waiting for Dylan to tell her a story, just like the others.

"Me and Gara, brothers. Gara is the son of my mother's sister. I was rarely in the kingdom. Every day, we stayed at my family's residence, in our private mansion. My father, of course he was busy taking care of his work, and preparing the need for his ascension. My mom taught me everything, except about guns. Many people could have taught me, but I knew they were busy too, all the way to the Warriors, or the Royal Knights. I could only raise the sword, carry it everywhere, and swing it occasionally into the air. But I want more than that. So, when I heard that Chairoz was going to meet with his father Gara, my father immediately sent me a letter first about my participation in the Academy. And here I am, to be able to use a weapon" Dylan finished.

"Wow, so you're brothers!? I thought you were strangers, no resemblance" Xavier was surprised.

"Haha, and you're Gara?" It was my turn to be asked by Castiel.

"I."

Dylan saw me meaningfully, of course, he knew the details of the matter.

"For what?" Added Cassa.

"For..."

I don't want to tell them about myself. They could, they'll stay away from me. It's not that I'm troubled about it, it's just that it's an Academy, and it won't work if each other's split. I don't want to ruin this mood.

"Why?" Iris disperse my daydreams.

"It seems, for now Gara can't say it. The insertion is pretty complicated" Dylan helped me.

"Oh so, all right. What about you, Cassandra?" Iris continued.

"My father told me to be a Srikandi of the Kingdom of Isambard, in his military" Cassa said.

"That way, I can always see you" Castiel added.

"You're good at flirting" Xavier laughed.

I just kept quiet to see them finally laughing at each other.

My reason was indeed to isolate myself, more precisely because I wanted to keep the danger away from my family. I don't know my true nature, as if I were just a living being with no real purpose. But that's what makes me a big threat to this country.

I just don't want to hurt my own family.
