#51 Running Out of Time
Mentari was very nervous to answer Arfan's request, it all happened suddenly. Indeed he wants to marry Arfan, only if asked suddenly like this of course he can not answer it just like that.
"I-I..," replied the trembling Mentari.
Arfan smiled wryly, "Forget Mentari, next time you answer her if you're really ready."
Mentari is running out of words and also time to answer the wishes of the person she loves so much at this time. He was eager to answer the request or with a single nod for sure but why was it so hard for him to do all that.
"Let's take it to campus, isn't there class today. I'm going to see Ayesh because there's something I need to talk to her about." Arfan left Mentari still stuck in place to prepare to leave.
Arfan saw Mentari's nervousness at his request, so he didn't want to over-exert his will this time. Although Arfan was actually disappointed but not right if he was too eager to get answers so that for now he did not want to continue, he chose to look for another more appropriate time.
Mentari picked up her bag and cell phone in the room as soon as Arfan left her place, then the girl headed to the garage following Arfan who was already in his car.
There were no words created between them during the trip to campus. Mentari occasionally glanced at Arfan who focused on driving. It was obvious disappointment emanated from his face which always looked serious. The atmosphere between them this time was really awkward.
Mentari sighed several times, she did not intend to refuse Arfan's request just that he was running out of time because he had to overcome his nervousness first.
Arfan left just like that after Mentari got out of his car, Mentari again sighed many times. He was so sorry to not agree to the young man's request.
"You why Dance, it's not usually so moody?" Ask Siska who watched Mentari from entering the class until the class ended.
"Let's say it quickly!" Siska urged Mentari to tell her.
The class was empty just the two of them left, their friends were gone with their respective affairs.
"A-I got asked by Sis," Mentari began to tell a story in lethargy.
Siska closed her mouth in disbelief with Mentari's words, although very shocked and happy but Siska did not want to make an uproar all over campus with her screams.
"Then you answer what, you agree, right?" Ask Siska enthusiastically.
Mentari just shook her head, "Don't tell me you turned her down?" Siska narrowed her eyes looking at Mentari who was in front of her.
"I didn't turn it down Sis, I was nervous so I ran out of time to answer it."
"As if Mentari don't you really want it, why is it like this?" Siska felt sorry.
"What should I do Sis, Brother Arfan looks very cold after the incident. But I didn't mean to let her down Sis."
"We think about it later, now all we need to do is fill our stomachs so we can think more clearly."
Siska takes Mentari to the canteen to fill their stomachs, Mentari is actually reluctant but Siska forces her.
Elsewhere, Arfan was meeting with Ayesh in his office. Arfan told Ayesh about Mona, it seems like Arfan suspects Mona is involved with something that recently happened.
"Why do you think Mona's behind all this Fan?"
"From the beginning I suspected Yesh, but I didn't have any evidence for it."
"If according to your story, it's possible that when he met Mentari that time, he would have met Ilyas who was being held captive."
"We're like Yesh's mind,"
"Do we need to see Mona Yesh?"
"Don't we have enough evidence to point to him, what we need to think about now is how you can get rid of the charges for the beatings that took place at Mentari's house."
"You're right Yesh."
"No Yesh, I actually felt sorry for the boy. But if you remember that night he was blind and wanted to ruin Mentari it's like there's no more sorry for him."
"I understand how you feel, Fan, you just want to protect your mentor, don't you?" Ayesh pats Arfan on the shoulder, he might as well do the same if all that happened to his Hyorin.
Now that Arfan has left Ayesh's office, he sees a watch in his hand. It's time for Mentari to come home from college he thought. He will pick up the girl, he does not want the cold war between them to continue any longer, for Arfan it does not seem to be able to bear to fight with Mentari just because of his own selfishness, but long enough that he waited for Mentari in the parking lot, Arfan saw no sign of Mentari out of his class.
Arfan tried to contact Mentari but the girl's phone was off. Arfan decides to check on Mentari in his class, but he does not find Mentari there. Arfan has also contacted Siska many times, who knows Siska knows where Mentari is but the same Siska did not respond to his call.
Arfan thought it was possible that the girl had gone home to the club so he decided to go home without waiting any longer, but it was the same that Mentari was not in his room.
"Since I went with you this morning, Mentari hasn't come home." Sania gives information to Arfan without being asked by him because he sees Arfan is looking for Mentari.
"What's wrong with you guys, what's going on Fan?"
Arfan kept silent and passed away from the presence of Sania, "Bas a refrigerator man, the habit of ignoring others!" sania's annoyance is ignored by Arfan, but Sania can understand him because it has become Arfan's temperament always behaves like that.
Arfan decided to go to Mentari's parents' house, who knows Mentari went back there.
"Let's go in, son," Kartika ma'am kindly welcomed her.
"Alone Fan, Mentari is not coming?" Mr. Mahendra who met him in the living room as if to explain if Mentari was not in the house at this time, Arfan quickly understood the situation. He could not possibly say if his current arrival was to look for Mentari, because he did not want to make Mentari's parents feel anxious.
Mentari just do not want to be disturbed at this time, Arfan thinks positively.
"The commentary is busy om, so he wants me to come here to pick up the stuff he needs om." An Arfan answered for a reason.
"I'm sorry son om ya Fan, he's relying too much on you so always make you bother."
"Yes Fan, if you really need something why not just take it yourself, at least he comes with you, not even let you take the goods alone." Mrs Kartika joined their conversation.
"It's okay, aunt. I don't feel bothered at all. Mentari was really busy this time, so she couldn't come with me."
"Thank you Fan, you can handle my daughter's will well."
"Then may I go into Mentari's room to get the things Mentari needs?"
"Of course Fan, go up and find the stuff."
Arfan went upstairs after getting permission from Mentari's parents. He thought of something when he came earlier, after not being able to find Mentari it was possible that in the girl's room he could find something he was looking for.
Arfan entered the room is laid out very neat even though the person is not there, the dominance of pink makes Arfan smile himself made.
"Very feminine," she said.
Arfan picked up some books on Mentari's shelf, he didn't want to make Mentari's parents suspect him so he needed to bring some things when he came out of the girl's room later.
Arfan accidentally dropped a book placed on the top shelf. He saw a small camera fall, Arfan observed the camera turned out to be a small CCTV and still active. Arfan thinks if the camera is working then there will be a successful recording on record.
Arfan took the camera and put it in his pants pocket.
"I have to quickly find Mentari, she must know about this camera." Arfan.
Uncompleted Arfan with Mentari's belongings, who had a room come and surprise him.
"Start!!!"
