#55 Give Me a Chance
Zaki drove Steven home, on the way the boy fell asleep, maybe Steven was exhausted after playing for quite a long time today. Sania, who was waiting for Steven not to come home, was very anxious, she was worried that Zaki would take Steven away from her. Sania called Steven many times but there was no answer from the boy.
It was getting late but Steven didn't come back, "Sania calm down!" Arfan who had just come out of his room saw Sania being riled up.
"How can I calm down Fan, while it's been this afternoon Zaki didn't drive Stev home. What if-"
"Don't ever think Sania's bad!" Arfan cuts off Sania's speech.
"You're his mother, your prayers go through the sky so it's a good blessing especially for Stev!" Arfan warns Sania who is definitely thinking badly of Zaki.
"You don't understand Fan!"
As you approach Sania, "So calm down, Stev will be home soon!"
While Sania was still anxious to hear the roar of the car engine entering the club yard, Zaki went down and opened the left side door of his car. He lifted Steven's body that was still sleeping and brought him into the club.
Sania welcomes Steven, "Why Stev, what happened?" Sania asked frantically looking at Steven in Zaki's sling.
"Show me where Stev's room is!" pinta Zaki regardless of Sania's question, he believes Sania is very panicked so Zaki deliberately does just that.
Zaki takes Steven to his room and lays the boy in bed and covers him.
Sania who followed Zaki to the room Steven can only be silent to see Zaki who he suspected was keeping his promise to deliver Steven even Zaki looks very fond of their child.
"He's just asleep, don't worry!" zaki said after getting out of Steven's bed.
Zaki looked straight at Sania, "You're still like Sania!"
"What do you mean Zaki?"
"Do I still have a chance?"
"For the sake of our son Sania!"
"I've already married Tomi and I love her so much, so don't expect me and Steven to take you back after what you did to us in the past!" sania replied without giving Zaki the slightest gap.
"Please give me one more chance Sania, I'll fix everything. I promise Sania!"
"It's too late, don't ever bother me again!"
Zaki walked out of Steven's room after hearing Sania's reply.
"Basar don't know yourself, where have you been when we used to need you!" sania who was heard by Mentari.
Mentari wanted to ask but he paused considering Sania's mood seemed to be not okay.
Zaki briefly met with Arfan in front, "Thank you for looking after them for me Fan!" zaki said before leaving the club.
Tomi had just arrived after training with the kids on the field, "Has Stev gone home?"
"Here, she's in her room with Sania."
Tomi looks for his son and wife to the room, he wants to make sure Steven is okay.
The next morning Arfan goes to Ayesh's office to provide proof of the footage he managed to copy from Mentari's cell phone.
"I'll give the investigator this tape Fan!" ayesh said he was confident Arfan would be free from the charges.
"Okay Yesh, I trust you."
Arfan returned to the club after delivering Mentari to meet with Siska, tonight Mentari will stay at the dorm with Siska because there are group tasks that they have to do. Arfan himself will be preparing for the inter-club match next week.
A few days later Arfan received a letter stating that he was free of all charges. While Ilyas will be heard the day after tomorrow, the case file is complete so it is ready to go to trial plus the recording evidence Ayesh handed over to investigators will certainly incriminate Ilyas.
Today Arfan invites Mentari to visit Ilyas before his trial in the title tomorrow. Arfan felt the need to talk to the boy.
"I feel sorry for Ilyas" Mentari said before entering the waiting room to visit Ilyas.
"Have you forgotten, he almost ruined you?"
"Of course I'll never forget that, brother,"
"Then let him accept the consequences of what he has done!" arfan replied straightforwardly without being denied.
"Let's go in!" Arfan invites Mentari inside, they wait for Ilyas who is being picked up by the officer.
Not long after, Ilyas accompanied by a prison officer came to them.
"What are you guys coming in here to laugh at me, huh?" Ilyas said as soon as he saw who had come to see him.
"Yes we do not mean that" replied Mentari.
"Why are you coming?"
"I just want to see you Yas, I'll be relieved to see you're okay."
"Do you realize now that I really deserve you after I'm like this?"
"Look at you Ilyas!" Arfan snapped a little.
"You're the one who caused me to be here, remember I will definitely repay you someday!"
Arfan just smiled, "Yas please don't do this, we came with good intentions." Mentari still tried to persuade Ilyas after seeing Arfan's expression.
"Content please take care of my mother while I'm here, visit her often. I'll be very grateful to you." Ilyas' voice weakened as he remembered his mother.
"Your mother is in my care, calm down. I came here just to ask you for permission to take your mother to stay with us at the club, she can help us take care of the children's needs." Arfan explained the purpose of his arrival today, Mentari was surprised to hear Arfan's words because they had never talked about this before.
"Are you not lying?"
"Of course not!"
Arfan invites Mentari to leave the place, while Ilyas is brought back by the officers into custody.
"I'm sorry Mentari, I just want you to hate me after what I did to you, thank you Mr. Arfan you've helped me a lot in looking after mom, the only treasure in my life that I've disappointed." Ilyas monologued in his heart, if only he had not followed the ambition and whisper of the one who instigated him he might never have ended up like that.
The day of the trial finally arrived, after going through various court agendas by presenting several witnesses it was decided that Ilyas was guilty in the case that ensnared him. Ilyas' mother had no power to hold back tears after hearing the judge's verdict for her son, she never thought the child she raised wholeheartedly was actually tarnishing his name after adulthood.
"I have my mother, Mr. Arfan!" ilyas said before leaving the courtroom.
He hugged his mother, "I'm sorry ma'am, sorry!"
Ilyas' mother continued to tear up until Mentari and Arfan invited the middle-aged woman to come home with them.
"Let Ilyas go through his captivity, so that he may think of adulthood and contemplate that what he did was wrong. Maybe in this way he can realize that every action must have consequences."
"I'm sorry mom's son, son,"
"We've forgiven her, ma'am, so don't worry about it. Now you'll be safe with us."
"Thank you, boys, you're so good-hearted."
Mentari pointed out where Ilyas' mother's room was, she invited him to rest because she seemed to be very tired after crying for quite a long time.
The tears of a mother who fell apart really made Arfan feel pained, he who had never felt the affection of a mother, just at this point felt jealous of Ilyas who was loved by his mother, who was very much loved by her, therefore, Arfan wanted to treat Ilyas' mother wholeheartedly by inviting him to stay with her and meet all her needs.
Arfan left Mentari who was still in Ilyas' mother's room because he received a call from the Dean at his campus, "Pak Arfan from tomorrow you can teach back on campus!"
"Well, thank you!"
Mentari saw Arfan's happy expression after the call ended, "Sounds there's good news?"
"Yes Mentari, from tomorrow I can return to campus."
"Is she really?" The face of Mentari shone.
"Of course, but there's a thing that's still stuck in my heart."
"What is that brother?"
"I want our marriage to speed up!"
Mentari's face was red because of Arfan's words.
