My Old Star
#56 Golden Opportunities

Arfan smiled at Mentari's adorable expression, the girl ran to her room embarrassed. Ilyas' mother who had been listening to their conversation from inside the room finally went outside to Arfan who was standing facing the opposite direction to him.

"You guys are very compatible, son, you will be very happy if you can get married soon, forgive the mother's son who once disrupted your relationship and almost broke because of his actions, he said, the boy did not know himself. Mother had been wrong in caring for and educating him all this time." The words of Ilyas' mother made Arfan turn his body to look at the interlocutor behind him.

"Mom never say that, there must be wisdom behind all this. You must not blame yourself because everything that happened was not the mother's fault in caring for Ilyas. I'm sure Ilyas is a good boy only he's wrong in choosing the path, so he puts his ego ahead of his own conscience."

Ilyas' mother was deeply moved that she could live with good people like Arfan, even though her son had done evil but did not close his conscience to help others. Ilyas' mother is determined to serve Arfan to return his favor.

At dinner, Arfan introduced Ilyas to everyone at the club, including Steven, who greeted the parents with great joy, and the boy felt he had a grandmother at the moment.

"I'm sorry ma'am, if it's not comfortable here because the atmosphere will be very crowded if the children are gathered."

"Mother is just happy to be together with all of you, at least Ilyas will forget a little for a moment."

Steven drew closer to Ilyas' mother, "May I call you grandma?"

"Of course, dear" replied Ilyas' mother.

"Your name is a handsome boy?" Its effects.

"My name's Steven Grandma, just call me Stev!"

"Yes Step," answered Ilyas' mother in distress calling Steven's name.

"Stev nek not Step!" steven's protest that made everyone at the dinner table laugh because of Steven's cute face that was upset his grandmother had trouble pronouncing the letter V on his name.

The atmosphere at this dinner table felt very warm, all dissolved in a jest of laughter. Like a whole family and Arfan seemed to rediscover his family, even without a grandmother beside him at this time. Suddenly Arfan missed his grandmother.

Today Arfan began to re-enter the campus, after delivering Mentari to the faculty of the girl, Arfan headed to the place he had longed for. The college he left a few months ago.

Several students who knew him greeted Arfan kindly, they have great respect for Arfan who although they consider as a killer lecturer but they like Arfan who is always objective in providing assessments so that it is really based on the ability of every student not because of their closeness with Arfan.

As close as possible if the ability is not maximal then Arfan will provide value in accordance with objective measures.

"Welcome back Mr. Arfan!" The Dean greeted Arfan as soon as he saw him enter the room.

"Thank you sir, thanks to the support of my father and others I can be free from all accusations!" Arfan shook the hands of the Dean and the head of the department alternately as well as his other friends who were in the lecturer's room.

"I'm sure Mr. Arfan is innocent so we are very grateful that you can return to this campus again."

Arfan does have qualified skills in the field of sports, especially futsal and he has a high enough quality of self as a lecturer so that the campus will be very lost if you waste talents that are rarely owned by people like Arfan.

The first day of teaching back on campus felt so fast spinning for Arfan, perhaps his yearning for class and students made him feel so.

Now he has come out of class and will go to pick up Mentari to take him to lunch. Arfan will bring Mentari to the grandmother's house after returning from campus, Arfan has promised to visit his grandmother this afternoon to discuss the continuation of the plan they are preparing.

Elsewhere, Wijaya's grandmother and Mahmud's grandfather were shopping for their monthly needs at the supermarket, usually they do not intervene alone to shop but this time Wijaya's grandmother wanted to just take her sister for a walk so as not to be too saturated to be at home continuously.

Grandpa Mahmud daily gardening behind the house of Grandma Wijaya to channel her hobby of farming, although since living with Grandma Wijaya life is much better than before. However, if he did not do anything his life would feel very boring.

Grandma Wijaya saw Mahmud's grandfather who was usually cheerful, lately often pensive as if he was missing someone so grandma took the initiative to invite Grandpa Mahmud to go shopping to just throw his mind tired.

"Mahmud just choose everything you need!" said Grandma Wijaya who saw her sister seemed hesitant to choose what she needed.

"You must not speak like that Mahmud, you must not be afraid, we are brothers. Just pick it up and take it as you please!" wijaya's grandmother encouraged her sister to pick up a shopping trolley and choose whatever she needed later at home.

While picking up some items that Mahmud's grandfather did need, he accidentally bumped into a woman from the opposite direction.

"I'm sorry miss, I accidentally bumped into you!" mahmud's grandfather apologized before he saw the woman's face.

"Just apologize, look at this smooth skin I scratched your grocery trolley!" replied the woman in a tone that did not reflect as an honorable woman.

"One more time I'm sorry miss!" mahmud's grandfather who was still feeling inferior did not dare to lift his face to just look at the face of the woman he hit earlier.

"What is this Mahmud?" Grandma Wijaya came to her sister because she had heard a little noise next to where she was shopping.

"Grandmother Wijaya?" Said the woman.

"Grandmother knows this man?"

"You're Mona, it's worth it that I'm no stranger to the noise!"

Hearing the name Mona was mentioned by her brother, Mahmud's grandfather ventured to see the woman's face and how surprised the grandfather was when he saw the face of Mona who turned out to be his own biological child.

"Missy?" Mahmud's grandfather said when really it was Mona, the child who had left and drained all his property along with his ungodly wife but Mahmud's grandfather still missed his daughter Mona.

"Are you really Mona, my daughter?" Mahmud's grandfather wants to grab Mona's hand but is rejected by the heartless woman.

"Don't just say you're a parent, see if I deserve to be your son, huh?" Mona glared at Mahmud's grandfather and continued to abuse him.

"Look good, son, it's your father Mahmud!" pinta Mahmud's.

Mona watched the old man, it was true that it was his father, but in her heart Mona still did not want to admit that it was the father he had left with his mother.

"Don't see you old man, we're too different where maybe if I was your son, you'd misunderstand people!"

"I'll prove it if I'm your father, son!"

mahmud's grandfather pulls out his wallet and wants to show him a picture of Mona in his wallet to prove that Mona is really his son.

At this point Mona is made to panic, worried that her secret will be revealed in front of Vijaya's grandmother. He did not want Arfan's grandmother to know that his father was a poor man and had nothing. Mona snatched the wallet and threw it on the floor.

"You never change Mona, you're rude to your parents, women don't have adab!" granny Wijaya was furious to see her sister who was insulted by Mona, especially in public places and became a spectacle of many people.

Vijaya's grandmother took Mahmud's wallet and gave it to the owner to keep it back.

"Let's go home Mahmud, there's no need to take this woman's heart!" granny Wijaya invites Grandpa Mahmud to come home rather than add to the heartache because the words Mona who like women never went to school.

"Come home?" Mona said softly while digesting the words of Grandma Wijaya.

"What does it mean they live together?"

"Oh my goodness I've missed a golden opportunity!"
