Ch 35: End of Second Stage Chunin Exam

When the group arrived at the Central Tower, they all heaved a sigh of relief.

At least now their safety will be guaranteed by the village, they thought.

Both groups unroll them at the same time and the rest continues as in the anime.

Iruka appears, telling them the true meaning of the exam, while Karin, on the other hand, is taken away by Sanada, who comes later.

The curtain of the second stage Chunin exam had closed, but it also brought worry in Sanada's heart.

Due to his intervention, Orochimaru failed to implant the curse seal on Sasuke. But that doesn't mean he'll give up.

Based on Orochimaru's personality that Sanada knows from the anime, it would be strange if Orochimaru did not move during the one-month rest period before the third part of the Chunin Exams.

Sanada believed that if it was a one-on-one situation, he would be able to hold Orochimaru back. But Orochimaru is too strange.

His brain was unrivalled in the ninja world and it wouldn't be strange if he developed some strange way to sneak using the curse mark when no one noticed.

Despite this, Sanada is not Sasuke's personal bodyguard. He has done everything he can and now Sanada will only make a report to the Hokage. He hoped their Hokage could do enough countermeasures for Orochimaru.

- A few days later, in the highest room of the tower -

A man on a TV screen was talking.

"Anko-Sama, we have confirmed that twenty-four people have passed the second test. In accordance with the rules, for the first time in five years, we will begin preparations for the preliminaries before the third test."

The man finished his report when the message ended.

Inside the room, the Third Hokage also saw the message with Anko, but next to him was someone we didn't know.

"For now, continue the test as planned while we watch Orochimaru's movements." Said the Third Hokage, to which Anko simply replied with a yes.

He then turned to the side where the other man was standing.

"What do you think, Sanada? You were the first to find Orochimaru and drive him out. What do you think of this?"

Standing with Hokage and Anko is none other than Sanada. He had finished reporting about the matter in the death forest. He also explains how he was able to react in time to Orochimaru's emergence.

Of course, some of the things Sanada told them were fake. None of the people here could find a hole in his story so they chose to believe Sanada's words.

"I don't have any complaints Hokage-Sama. But I think we should increase our surveillance of Sasuke Uchiha. Orochimaru's target while sneaking into the Deathly Forest earlier might have been him."

'This man, I never thought that he would be able to hold Orochimaru. What secrets are you hiding from us, Sanada..'

As time passed, the Third Hokage finally finished explaining the true purpose of the exam. The stage was now set up and they were ready to begin the introduction of the third exam.

At this moment, Hayate Gekko appeared. "Hokage-Sama, from now on, as a referee, please allow me Gekk Hayate."

Gekk Hayate appears and takes on the role of referee for the preliminary exam.

He explained everything about the core of the contest and after he finished explaining, as in the original plot, Kabuto decided to withdraw from the contest.

But this time, Kabuto wasn't the only one who retreated. All members of Kabuto plus Kin (Tsuchi) team decided to withdraw, bringing the number of participants in the preliminary round to 20 people.

Perhaps due to the interference of Sanada, Naruto and the other 7 teams did not interact much with Kabuto, so there was not much drama going on here.

Of course, this aroused suspicion on Anko's side as it was rather strange to see so many candidates give up before the fight.

"When I have decided that the winner has been clearly established, I will jump in and stop things from increasing the casualty count in vain."

"And now we will reveal the object that controls your destiny."

"This electric scoreboard will show the matches for each battle, and now we will announce the first two fight names."

As Gekk Hayate's words fell, the electric scoreboard began to shuffle the name before finally stopping.

"For the first battle, we have Sasuke Vs Uchiha. Hibachi."
