Morning is bright. Replaces the atmosphere of the night that all night rained. The sound of water flowing from the overflow of the moat by the roadside was heard everywhere. The rice fields in an instant changed like a pond filled with water.
Master Izzul Islam who was enjoying the morning after his return from the mosque on the terrace of the house, still looks lazy to take a cellphone that sounded ringing several times from inside the house. He was still busy flipping thick books on the table. Abdul Khalik who was watering flowers in front of the terrace occasionally turned his head. Master Izzul Islam did not tell him to take a cell phone. Abdul Khalik took off the water slank in his hand and approached.
"Please forgive me, Master Teacher. Do I have to take Master Teacher's phone?" abdul khalik. He stood bowing his head under the terrace. Master Izzul Islam sighed. He smiles.
"May, if you are not busy" said Master Izzul Islam. Abdul Khalik nodded his head and immediately went inside the house. Not long after, he returned with his phone still ringing in his hand.
"Who, Lik," said Master Izzul Islam. Abdul Khalik noticed the name that appeared on the phone screen and read it.
"Sir Nurasmin if not mistaken, Mr. Guru," said Abdul Khalik. Mr. Guru Izzul Islam closed his book and immediately took a mobile phone from the hands of Abdul Khalik.
"Assalamualaikum, sir. Sorry, I just got home from the mosque. Is there anything I can help you with, sir," said Master Izzul Islam in a polite tone with a smile.
Mr. Nurasmin's voice sounded heavy from the opposite direction.
"Look, Son Izzul. If there's time, I'd like to invite Nak Izzul home today. That's if Nak Izzul has time,"
Master Izzul Islam was silent for a moment. Like thinking about his free time in the next few hours.Tuan Guru Izzul Islam sighed softly while smiling.
"God willing, after isha' I have time, sir. What's up, sir,"
"There's a little business that I want to discuss with Nak Izzul. If indeed Nak Izzul only has time after isya', I will still wait for Nak Izzul at home,"
Master Izzul Islam nodded his head.
"God willing, sir. I'll be there later after isya'. Same mom or me, sir?"
"You alone. If necessary, do not let your mother know" said Mr. Nurasmin. Master Izzul Islam scrunched his forehead.
"God willing, sir" said Master Izzul Islam after a moment of silence.
"OKs. Then we will continue our conversation later. Let's Nak. Assalamualaikum,"
"Wa aleiku salam,"
Master Izzul Islam put his cell phone on the table after Mr. Nurasmin decided on his call. He looked inside the house. From last night he hadn't seen Nyai Mustiani. He's getting worried. Abdul Khalik, who was still watering the flowers, called again.
"Lik, I'm not out. Has he had breakfast?"
"So much, but only for a moment, Master Teacher. He said it was too cold outside. He's in the room with the santriwati now,"
Master Izzul Islam nodded his head. After a few moments of silence, watching Abdul Khalik watering flowers, he closed his book and rose. He felt that yesterday's problems if it continued to dissolve, he would never dare to meet Nyai Mustiani. He decided to meet Nyai Mustiani in his room.
tock.tok..
"Assalamualaikum, ma'am," said Master Izzul Islam when he reached the room Nyai Mustiani. There's no answer. There were only a few female voices from inside the room. Shortly after, the door of the room opened. One of the santriwati who opened the door retreated a few steps, giving way for Master Izzul Islam. The other two santri stood half-bending in front of Nyai Mustiani's bed. Nyai Mustiani herself appeared to be leaning with both legs crossed over the bed. He did not turn his head when Master Izzul Islam came to him.
"Bu Nyai, we beg you to say goodbye" said one of the santri with a hoarse voice. Nyai Mustiani.
"You guys stay here with me. Only you would listen to me. My son cares more about others than his mother" Nyai Mustiani said. He kept turning his face. Master Izzul Islam can only smile. The three santriwati back on the floor. Beside Nyai Mustiani's bed.
Master Izzul Islam gently rubbed the palms of Nyai Mustiani.
"Mother, I'm sorry that you're still angry about yesterday's incident. I didn't mean to step over Mom. After all, there is no one who can replace the position of mother in the hearts of her children" said Mr. Izzul Islam. Nyai Mustiani smiled.
"Instead, you're more defending that woman,"
"Not defending, Mom. I just want our relationship to be good. There's nothing else,"
Nyai Mustiani.
"If indeed you still put mother first, surely you will obey whatever you say,"
Master Izzul Islam smiled.
"When I ever denied mom. Whatever you say, I never refuse,"
"But it seems you start to fight if you are faced with a woman who you think is a blue hooded batik motif. I feel very well that you are helpless,"
"It's not like that, Mom. Even if I was destined to marry her, for a husband, her primary devotion would never change to her mother,"
"You'll never marry her. She's not the woman in your dream. It's too long to look for him now."
Master Izzul Islam turned towards the three sisters who were still silent under the bed.
"Three of you, you can go back to the dormitory" said Master Izzul Islam. All three stand. Slowly they backed off and came out of the room.
Nyai Mustiani holds the hand of Master Izzul Islam. He smiles.
"Mom talked about your marriage to your uncle. We agreed to match you up with your sister, Si Layla."
Master Izzul Islam was surprised to hear Nyai Mustiani's words. He did not expect Nyai Mustiani to have planned something unexpected. That might also mean Mr. Nurasmin contacted him earlier, asking him to come to his house. Master Izzul Islam stared at Nyai Mustiani's face for a long time. Lately, Nyai Mustiani fears she is married to Rianti, making her always decide things without thinking first.
"Yes, God, Mom. Layla was a kid, Mom. He's still in school. Still underage. How could my mother want to marry me to her," said Master Izzul Islam trying to protest.
"That's not a problem. Mom just got married to your dad just graduated from tsanawiyah. What parents show is a blessing. By itself, Layla will think mature. So that's a problem that's not worth thinking about,"
"But the law does not allow us to marry minors, ma'am," said Mr. Izzul Islam. He hoped, for that reason, that Nyai Mustiani would change her mind.
"It can be arranged. You use your authority to influence relevant officials. A lot of it worked. It's been. If you really still respect me as your mother, then follow your orders" Nyai Mustiani said. Master Guru Izzul Islam gave a long sigh. Nyai Mustiani's stern gaze made her completely non-pussy. He felt that he could no longer defend himself to give a little enlightenment to Nyai Mustiani. Nyai Mustiani would definitely not listen to him. Master Izzul Islam again sighed. He nodded and nodded slowly.
"It has. Now, get those kids back here. Regarding your marriage to Layla, let the mother arrange it" Nyai Mustiani said. Master Izzul Islam holds Nyai Mustiani's hand and kisses her. After fixing his torch, he got up and stepped out of the room.
