NIGHT BUTTERFLY

NIGHT BUTTERFLY
#151

Master Izzul Islam is still waiting for the rain that fell since Maghrib had subsided. Almost isya'. Looking at the black sky, it seemed like it was going to rain much longer tonight. Pak Nurasmin's mobile phone could not be reached. The lights went off a few minutes ago. That may be what causes the signal to go bad. But his agreement with Mr. Nurasmin must be kept. He had agreed to meet Mr. Nurasmin exhausted isya' in his house. Whatever the situation, he has to go. Moreover, with the shocking information he received from Nyai Mustiani about his marriage to Layla, making him more curious and want to get to the house of Mr. Nurasmin soon.

Zaebon was seen running around carrying umbrellas towards the terrace where Master Izzul Islam stood. Before facing Mr. Guru Izzul Islam, he entered first to Abdul Khalik's room to squint his body. After that, he immediately met Master Izzul Islam.

"How, Bon. Will you have no trouble seeing in this state of heavy rain" said Master Izzul Islam when Zaebon came to experience him.

"God willing, Master Teacher. Let's just slow down" replied Zaebon. Master Izzul Islam nodded his head. His torment was rubbed into his wet face due to wind-blown rain.

"All right then. We're leaving, "Take Master Izzul Islam. Zaebon went back into Abdul Khalik's room and came out with an umbrella. He waited for Master Izzul Islam to come down from the terrace.

"Good it first, Bon. I think Mr. Nurasmin called," said Mr. Guru Izzul Islam when his phone rang. When checking it, he saw the name of Mr. Nurasmin on his phone screen.

"Assalamualaikum, sir. This is me just leaving" said Master Izzul Islam. His voice was slightly hardened due to the noise of the rain.

Master Izzul Islam scrunched his forehead. He covered his head with a turban. He still felt he could not hear clearly the talk of Mr. Nurasmin from across, even though he had raised the volume of his phone. He also decided to go into his room.

"Okay, I'm sorry, sir. Outside of the rain. I just did not hear the talk of the Father" said Mr. Izzul Islam with a smile.

"Look, Son Izzul. Actually, I mean I told you to go home to talk about the results of your conversation with your mother. It's about you and your sister, Layla" said Mr. Nurasmin. Master Izzul Islam gave a short sigh. He looked up at the ceiling of the room.

"I know, Sir. Mom told me this afternoon. I can't do anything, sir. How are things in Layla after finding out about this, sir,"

"That's exactly what you want to talk to you about. Your sister obviously didn't want this wedding. He still thinks of himself as too small. He insisted he wanted to continue his higher school,"

Master Izzul Islam again sighed.

"With mother's attitude like this, I can't give you a way out either, Sir I'm confused and finally put it down."

"But the story is now different, son Izzul. Your sister Layla has run away from home,"

"What's? Azaghfirullah." Master Izzul Islam groaned his forehead strongly, closed his eyes and shook his head.

"Since when, sir," he continued weakly.

"So afternoon he came out on the grounds that he wanted to practice silat, but until now he has not come home too. I looked for it everywhere, but still did not meet. None of his friends knew where he was going" Nurasmin said. Master Izzul Islam was silent for a moment. I don't want him to feel guilty about this.

"But hopefully he is at the home of his friends, sir," hoped Master Izzul Islam.

"Hopefully, son. But it's not usually like this. He's not used to staying or staying out there for long. He's a home-based kid."

Master Izzul Islam shook his head again. This was the second time the girl he was about to be betrothed to had run away from home. He feels guilty for being the cause of Layla's disappearance. Only because his mother's will is always forcing, making Nurasmin sir and his family must feel hard.

"Good, Sir. I represent my mother apologise, sir. My salute is equally biblical, too" said Master Izzul Islam in a weak tone.

Master Teacher Izzul Islam took a long breath. He sat weakly on the sofa in his room. He began to worry about his cousin's sister who had gone somewhere these nights. The rain out there is still coming down. He began to think about how Layla was out there if she really left her home. Nyai Mustiani's desire to prevent her from marrying Rianti has caused harm to others.

Master Izzul Islam laid his body slowly on the sofa. The sound of the rain made him even more anxious. His lying down was not calm. Layla's escape from home made her mind completely disturbed.

Master Izzul Islam rise. He just remembered that he had not told Zaebon his cancellation to the house of Mr. Nurasmin tonight. Zaebon must still be waiting for him outside. Master Izzul Islam reassembled the pecans and went out to the terrace of the house. On the porch of the house, he saw Zaebon still waiting on the porch of the house with Abdul Khalik. Seeing the arrival of Master Izzul Islam, the two stood up.

"We're not leaving, Bon. You just rest there," said Master Izzul Islam. Zaebon nodded and went to his room. And Abdul khalik too.

The rain is really heavy. Looking at the sky that looked black, rain like it would never stop flushing tonight. He could not imagine how Mr. Nurasmin looked for Layla in such circumstances. He could only stand there without doing anything to help. He also did not know whether Mr. Nurasmin had informed Nyai Mustiani of the matter. He hoped, this time Nyai Mustiani could better understand, and no longer force his will.

Master Izzul Islam turned his body and went into the house.

"Mother?"

When he opened the door of his room, Master Izzul Islam had found Nyai Mustiani sitting on the sofa in his room. Seeing that, Master Teacher Izzul Islam immediately greeted Nyai Mustiani and sat down beside him.

"Mom why rest?

Nyai Mustiani did not answer. It just shakes a little. Master Izzul Islam watched Nyai Mustiani's face silently. Nyai Mustiani's face looked disheveled and her expression was exactly as she scolded him upon returning home from Sulastri. Does he know what happened to Layla? the Inner Master Teacher Izzul Islam.

"Do you want me to prepare dinner?" said Mr. Guru Izzul Islam again after Nyai Mustiani just silent with an irregular sitting position. Always moving around. Nyai Mustiani shook her head again. This time he looked at Master Izzul Islam. Master Izzul Islam smiled.

"Your father doesn't take care of children. This is proof that the education that parents now give to their children is not true. Just taking care of one daughter is not right" Nyai Mustiani said. Master Izzul Islam noticed Nyai Mustiani's face. Perhaps what Nyai Mustiani is talking about is related to Layla's escape.

"I don't understand what you mean" said Master Izzul Islam pretending not to know.

"That, your Uncle, Si Nurasmin. His son ran away from home. I pray my son doesn't come back,"

"God, Mom. Can't be like that. After all, Layla had to run away. He was a kid. Still not thinking about getting married. Especially with an old man like me. Never mind, Mom, I'm okay . If indeed I am destined not to marry, I accept it," said Master Izzul Islam.

"No, you have to get married.Mom's already preparing another candidate who's better than Layla." Nyai Mustiani. Master Izzul Islam looked in wonder at Nyai Mustiani.

"Who else, Mom? Mother would not calm down for a long time if she continued to trouble herself in this matter. Why is it just because you don't like Rianti, you have to force it all? Rianti has repented, ma'am. What I saw was Rianti's past being exploited by people who didn't like the Rianti changes. In fact, compared to me, she's better, Mom. I became Master teacher like this and mother, also people consider me good, because indeed I was born in the neighborhood boarding school that everyday can not be separated from the thick religious atmosphere. But is it good to continue to consider bad people because of their past? We do not want to get the wrath of God because the person we despise and consider bad is one of God's lovers. That is why, Imam Ghazali always tells us to be kind to anyone, Mom. For we also never know, whether the end of our lives is good or vice versa." Master Izzul Islam bowed his head. A slight annoyance at the firmness of his mother maintaining his will made him unconsciously continue to speak. And strangely, throughout his talk, there was no sign at all of Nyai Mustiani would be angry or cut off his talk as it had been.

"I'm sorry, Mom. Forgive me," said Master Izzul Islam. He felt sinful because he had patronized Nyai Mustiani. He held Nyai Mustiani's hand, but slowly Nyai Mustiani took it off. Nyai Mustiani stepped slowly towards the door. Master Teacher Izzul Islam just silently watched Nyai Mustiani's footstep towards the door. Until when Nyai Mustiani had come out of his room, Master Izzul Islam was still silently staring at the door.
