Chapter 4. Whose Seed?

While Rian was still raging in his own mind with many preconceptions, the doctor congratulated him once again.

"Congratulations, Mr. Rian. Hopefully for the next child and your wife are healthy. Please pay attention to every food or drink consumed."

"Ba-ik doc, thank you."

Rian was nervous and stammered as he thanked her. He did not fully believe what he had heard, if his wife was three weeks pregnant. They both just got married yesterday.

Everything was revealed after Sharmila became nauseous and finally fainted, then Rian found out the condition of his wife who was actually pregnant after arriving at the hospital and examined by a doctor.

Unfortunately, Rian was not a man who was short in reason so hastily took action. He did not directly ask Sharmila and covered everything including his own family to conduct further investigations.

Rian wanted to know firsthand who the man who had planted the seed on his wife, and why Sharmila had gone silent and not spoken to him before the wedding yesterday.

'There must be something to hide.'

'But last night everything went normal. She's a virgin too. Then…'

Various preconceptions emerged in Rian's mind regarding Sharmila's current condition. She is angry that she felt deceived by Sharmila's pregnant circumstances when she married him. But he also fell in love with Sharmila, so there is an inner war that he has.

Rian experiences a complex inner war after learning his wife, Sharmila, is already pregnant while married to him. On one hand, she felt angry and deceived because she felt that Sharmila had hidden this fact from her. Rian feels that Sharmila should have revealed her pregnancy before marriage.

But on the other hand, Rian is already in love with Sharmila and has strong feelings for her. Rian is worried that if he shows his anger and disappointment, it will damage their relationship that has just been established and have a negative impact on the health of Sharmila and the baby in the womb.

This causes Rian to experience an inner conflict between the anger and disappointment he feels with the feelings of love he has towards Sharmila. Rian was confused and did not know what to do next.

In addition, Rian felt anxious and worried about the health condition of Sharmila and the baby in the womb. This caused Rian to experience significant stress and anxiety.

To reduce his curiosity, Rian did an investigation, who was the man who had planted the seeds on Sharmila before him. He was also doubtful about the results of the doctor's examination, because on the first night Sharmila was still a girl with virgin blood. Even she praised him and considered Sharmila a girl who could take care of herself.

"I have to find out the truth of all this. Or, the wrong doctor's examination?"

Rian felt the need to conduct an investigation to find out who actually planted the seeds on his wife before him. Although Sharmila was still a virgin on their first night, Sharmila's pregnancy suggests that she had sexual intercourse with another man before marrying him.

Rian did not believe and was surprised that there were other people who had intimate relationships with his wife before marriage. He feels anxious and worried that others may have a particular interest or motive to take such action.

However, Rian also felt hesitant and confused in carrying out this investigation. She worries that finding out about Sharmila's past and suspecting others could damage their relationship and make Sharmila feel uncomfortable.

In addition, Rian also felt that he did not know where to start in conducting this investigation. He did not have enough information or evidence that could help him in figuring out who carried out the act.

"Don't Sharmila still be in a relationship with another man after being betrothed to me? But why isn't he being honest?"

"I can't believe that Sharmila had an intimate relationship with another man before marrying me. She looks like a nice girl. But how can she be three weeks pregnant?"

Rian may also feel confused and distrustful that Sharmila had had sexual intercourse before marrying him. She thought that Sharmila's pregnancy was confirmed to have been due to intimate relationships performed before the wedding.

"It should be someone else responsible for Sharmila's pregnancy. But now she is my wife, and I have promised to protect her both in joy and sorrow."

Rian has a presumption that Sharmila has certain reasons not to reveal her pregnancy thinking that Sharmila is embarrassed or afraid to reveal her circumstances, or that there are other reasons that make her reluctant to talk about her pregnancy.

"Is he under someone's threat or pressure?"

These presuppositions may leave Rian feeling confused and anxious, as he has no idea what really happened and who was responsible for Sharmila's pregnancy. Therefore, Rian needs to gather enough information and evidence to help him overcome the preconceptions he has and find out the truth about Sharmila's pregnancy.

Rian should have asked Sharmila directly, but she covered up the real situation and did not take appropriate action. As a husband, Rian was more proactive in helping his wife with silence.

Rian seemed to be trapped in fear and embarrassment that made him unable to act appropriately. The fear and shame that Sharmila might also feel when she learns the truth about her situation.

This is also what makes Rian aware if the situation experienced by Sharmila is very difficult, just like him.

"Umh... Mas, Mas Rian?"

Sharmila regained consciousness and called out to Rian who was standing daydreaming since earlier in front of the bedroom window.

"You, you're conscious. What are you feeling?" He asked softly, then walked towards the bed of Sharmila's patient.

Rian did not want to make Sharmila feel uncomfortable, so he also did not mention about the results of the doctor's examination that was already known.

Sharmila looked scared. He looked unfocusedly in any direction, trying to distract her. She was afraid that her condition would be known to Rian, who was now her husband.

"A-pa what happened, Rian?" Confused ask.

This was not the hotel room where he had stayed overnight, and the back of his hand was also attached to the infusion. Sharmila remembered that she was in the bathroom and was nauseous.

Remember the events that happened to her, Sharmila increasingly looked tense. She could not look towards her husband, who was now walking closer to her bed.

"Darling, why didn't you say it?" Tanya Rian is fishing for Sharmila's honesty.

"My, I…"

"Shhh. I get it."

Sharmila felt very guilty and regretful for lying to her husband. He didn't know what to say at the moment.
