"Hey where are my clothes?" Roni groped her half-unclothed body. He is so embarrassed at the moment.
Elan thrust out Roni's gray robe. "It's your outfit. You fainted in the river. Then I can't put you on clothes."
"Give me. I'm ashamed not to dress like this" Roni said, grabbing her cloak in Elan's hand. Then Roni deftly wear clothes and skirts of his robe, and let the clothes of his robe open so that his stomach looks a little muscular.
"The two of us are used to seeing you without clothes while bathing in the river. Then why are you suddenly embarrassed?" teasing Elan while twisting both of her eyeballs.
"Hey, that's not what I meant. I'm ashamed for not getting dressed in front of the Master earlier" Roni said evasively.
"You fainted, the master already understood why you weren't dressed" explained Evelyn who tried to calm Roni down. "Elan explained that you fainted after swimming in the river." He pointed to Elan.
"All right, I believe in you. At least the master was not a mature woman" replied Roni. "At least I'm not too shy about being seen by a grown woman."
"Let's go home, before it gets night. This is your fruit basket, I brought it." Evelyn handed him Roni's empty fruit basket.
"Thank you Evelyn," Roni replied as she took her basket in Evelyn's hand.
"Don't you also thank me, I've brought your clothes with me sincerely." Elan replied because she thought Roni was not being fair to her.
Instantly Roni laughed, "Hahah, thank you guys. I couldn't say thank you for panicking."
Evelyn and Elan laugh because of Roni's witty speech. "Here you go, let's go home. I'm hungry" said Elan as she walked through the path that connects to the village where the common people live.
"Hey wait!" evelyn shouted and then chased after Elan. Roni came running behind Evelyn.
Roni now walked beside Evelyn, then she told me, "I remember, before I fainted. I can control the water. But how could I possibly have the power."
"Maybe you are just a hallucination" said Elan, who did not want to make Roni believe in her power. Honestly, Elan also did not think that Roni has magical magic power. First, it was just a coincidence. The second possibility, Roni does have magic power. But certainly Elan still believes in the first option that Roni can control the water just a coincidence, meaning it is not really done consciously.
"Possibly so," Evelyn replied.
"But I feel like it's real. And I'm not hallucinating" Roni replied, recalling the unexpected event.
"You're just tired." Elan again tried to convince Roni that the incident was not really real during the day at the river.
"Maybe." Roni shrugged both of his shoulders while shaking slowly. He wanted to believe the miracle in her, but his heart said hesitantly that he indeed had magic power. I don't know, Roni will find out for himself about his magical abilities without including Elan or Evelyn.
"Don't think about it, now let's go home. It's getting late" Evelyn said, walking in front of the two men behind her.
Evelyn and Elan have gone home. Now live Roni who walked alone through the path that connects to his home. A few meters later, he will arrive home. But Roni seemed unhappy, the look on his face showed anxiety, because his mother was always angry with him. Just look, after this surely Roni will get a scolding from her mother.
Sure enough, just as Roni was standing at the door, her mother had already greeted her with a scolding.
"Sorry, Mom, I-I." Roni did not continue his words, suddenly his mother grabbed a fruit basket in his hand.
"Where is your money traded? Give it to Mom," said her mother harshly.
"It's Ma'am. But can you leave a little for me?" roni said with a clear expression. Then took out a few pieces of money from the pocket of her robe skirt.
"Just son, I can't. It's Mom's money" replied Rosmala while taking the money from Roni's hand. Then Rosmala passed away and went into his room.
Sighing heavily, Roni wanted to discourage her mother but hesitated. He was so scared and dared not fight his mother. But her mother gave birth to her. Finally Roni entered the house in a state of fatigue and resignation. The young man took off his robe and only put on the skirt of his robe, then went to the bathroom to clean himself.
Roni's mother's name was Rosmala. A woman who has always been rude since her husband left thirteen years ago. Even when Roni was three years old, Rosmala often scolded Roni for trivial things, such as when Roni accidentally spilled his drinking water. Rosmala is also often frustrated whenever she remembers her husband who she loved so much. Her life used to be guaranteed with dignity and equality with the nobility, because her husband worked in the royal environment as a soldier. But fate said otherwise, while on the battlefield, her husband died in the war and made Rosmala cry for days, and at that time Roni was still two years old. Rosmala may not have been able to foresee her husband's departure until recently. His anger is always vented to Roni, the only boy. Moreover, as her economy has plummeted since the departure of her husband, Rosmala and Roni were exiled to the suburbs by royal soldiers on the orders of the ruthless King Aric, Rosmala has become increasingly frustrated.
Roni came out of the bathroom half-naked or topless. He had taken a shower, his body was refreshed. Then he went to the kitchen to eat. Although always being rude to him, but Rosmala will not let his son starve. She still cooks food for her child even if it is just that.
"Tonight you eat cassava alone" said Rosmala when he saw his son enter the kitchen. "Rice is over. Money from your trade, tomorrow I'll buy rice."
"Yes, Mom." Roni nodded and smiled. Then the teenage boy took a large cassava to be satisfied to prop up his stomach thrashing.
Roni eats in the kitchen. Rosmala went to the warehouse to check the stockpile of mangoes that will be resold tomorrow. Many mangoes are young and immature. A small part has withered and is not worth selling, Rosmala sorting out which mangoes are worth selling, eaten alone, and which are still raw. For mangoes that have withered or overcooked, Rosmala will give it to Roni to eat on its own.
Finished sorting out the mangoes, Rosmala took two overripe mangoes, took them to the kitchen and gave them to Roni. Even though it has withered but still worth eating. Rosmala does not want to lose and redundant for wasting mangoes from the results of his garden. Better to give it to his son.
"This is a mango that has withered, you eat it yourself, I'm tired of eating it," said Rosmala while putting two mangoes on the table, right next to Roni.
"Thank you, Mom." Roni smiled happily. Almost every day he ate mangoes but he never got bored. Mango is his favorite.
Without saying a word, Rosmala passed away going to her room.
Roni finished eating two large cassava fruits, now his stomach is full enough. "Thank God, I'm full" he said. Then he drank water from inside the jug. The fresh water made him feel relieved.
After eating and drinking, Roni walked into her room to change clothes. Roni's clothes are modeled like hanbok-style robes. Which on the shirt part is only a wide and long fabric to cover the upper body, including both hands, and equipped with a long cloth for the belt. As for the bottom in the form of a long skirt limited to the heel. Hanbok clothes are not only owned by Roni but all the people of Eldoria City, both kings, nobles, middle people or commoners. Hanbok clothes have been a characteristic feature of the people of Eldoria City since the leadership of the first king of the Kingdom of Eldoria to the tenth leadership, namely King Aric Shadowcaster.
Roni only has three kinds of hanbok clothing due to economic limitations. His mother didn't have much money to buy him a new robe. From this, Roni often wears one robe for days, or when circumstances forced, he only wears the cover of his lower body in the form of a wide cloth when only at home. His mother did not dispute this, because for him Roni was still a child even though he was a teenager. For a fifteen-year-old teenager, Roni is taller and bigger than her age. Elan's body was not comparable to Roni's height.
Bored inside the house, Roni decided to go to the hut behind her house while carrying a torch as lighting. The sounds of crickets and night animals are mutually unpretentious as if enlivening the atmosphere of a quiet night. Roni put a torch over the hut. Accompanied by a torch, he could see the state of the garden despite the dimness. Roni was pensive, thinking of ways how to make his life worthy and not constantly living in deprivation. He felt sorry for his mother who was getting older, while he was growing up. And there is no way he lives just hanging the results of trading mangoes that do not help much. Roni promised herself that she would try to live a better life and make her mother happy.
