Secrets of Lakefront House

Secrets of Lakefront House
CHAPTER 41. TAKING DNA SAMPLES

As Jonathan opened and held the entrance to The Star Cafe for Jilena, there was a live sound of music from inside the cafe. A waiter came to greet them and directed them at a table located not far from the dance floor.

A band was playing a romantic song on the sidelines of a frenzied conversation and the clattering of dishes and cutlery. Seen on stage, a pair of singers were singing while accompanied by a band and a background dancer.

"What do you think?" Jonathan asked while leaning his body forward.

Jilena's gaze explored the room, trying to observe everything. He turned his attention back and focused on his handsome date, giving her a bright smile.

"I hope the food is as good as the music.” said Jilena while putting her hands on the table. Jonathan grabbed that hand and held it tightly.

Jonathan nodded and smiled. "Yes, the food here is delicious."

“You've been here before?”

“Multiple times.” Jonathan replied briefly. It was not the right place to take his young son or his parents.

Did she? Bring another woman on a date here? Stop that. That's a very silly thought, are you jealous of Jilena. Jilena did not want to torture herself with strange thoughts. He opened the menu and noticed the menu. After a little chat, the waiter came and took their order.

"Do you want to dance while we wait for the order food to arrive?" Jonathan asked.

"All right."

Jonathan grabs Jilena's hand and takes her to the dance floor made of polished hardwood. The next song that the band started playing was a slow song. Jonathan moved to the left wrapping his arm around Jilena's waist and holding her hand.

Their bodies docked and there was no distance between the two and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Jilena placed her head on the chest of Jonathan's field and listened to his powerful rhythmic heartbeat as they danced. "I love this song" he murmured.

"So you want me" Jonathan said with a smile.

Jilena withdrew and looked at him, a little surprised by what he said.

"What?"

“Her song name—So You Want Me.”

Jilena let out a nervous laugh. "Oh, song. Were you right to ask me-" He leaned his head against the man's chest again and continued to slow down the dance. "Yes, do you want me?" repeat Jonathan again.

"Ehmm.ee. I want you" Jilena replied with confidence.

The song ended, but they remained on the dance floor for a while longer. Jonathan****** his lips, for quite a long time.

Finally, they returned to their tables and waited for the order food to come. Jonathan pulls out a chair for Jilena, and she stares at him for a while before he sits down. Jilena was a little nervous with Jonathan's sweet treatment. 'Why is Jonathan's kiss so sweet? I even wanted to kiss her again. You are crazy Jilena, his grunts in heart.

As soon as Jonathan sat down, Noah approached their table. What the fuck? Why does he always show up wherever he goes?

"Hello, dear Jilena" said Noah, who ignored Jonathan's presence at the table. The smell of alcohol stings in his breath.

"Well?" the answer.

"Will you dance?"

“No, Noah. I'm here with Jonathan.”

Jonathan jumped out of his chair and stood upright, his body slightly taller than Noah's. "The woman said no."

His voice was strong and sounded firm. Then, he curbed it and lowered its volume.

"Please go, Noah."

"You have no right to tell me what to do!" Noah swung his hand at Jonathan, but the blow did not hit Jonathan.

"You're drunk." Jilena stood up too. “Please go.”

“I just want to dance with you, just once. Is my request too much?” Noah staggered and stepped closer to him. "Just dance once."

"Come, Noah." Jonathan holds one of Logan's arms. “Come, I'll call a cab for you.”

"She's my girl!" Noah pulled his arm back and swung again into Jonathan's face. This time, Jonathan was a little off guard and Noah hit him on the side of his jaw. Jonathan regained his senses and aimed a punch to the right and hit Noah's eye, then another blow struck right in Noah's mouth. Noah slumped to the floor, but Jonathan's hand quickly grabbed him and sat him in the chair.

The crowd started to gather around their table and noticed what was happening.

"Nothing can be seen here" exclaimed Jonathan, with his arms outstretched and his hands moving away, as if he were herding the cat away. “Come back to your table.” he exclaimed in a firm voice.

All the crowd left, many glancing back, watching the first son of the richest man in the city, drunk and bleeding.

Jilena stands between Noah and most of the crowd, trying to protect her from someone who wants to get a photo or video with their phone. Is that my brother? Sarah did she see in the crowd?

Jonathan must have seen Jilena protecting Noah, as a frown appeared on his forehead as he returned his attention to them. Noah's eyes began to swell and his mouth was bleeding. Jilena took out some thick paper napkins and removed her blood.

The blood! DNA.

He took a few more napkins, folded them around the bloody ones, and— tucked the lumps of napkins into his bag. This is not the way the police will get evidence, but it may be enough to get a DNA match to the hair found on the comb.

Reporters like him want to find the truth, but some of him hope that the blood will prove that the hair does not belong to Noah. Jilena doesn't want to believe that Noah can turn into a killer. As he looked up from his bag, Jonathan looked at him with a puzzled look on his face.

"I'll explain it later" he said, hoping that answer was enough.

He pulled out his phone. “After I finish the bill, I will go out and call a taxi. Too noisy here.”

Jilena nodded. "And I'll ask the waiter to put our food in the box." Jonathan stalks, leaving him to deal with Noah. Jilena looked up and noticed that it was Sarah, sitting not far away, she moved closer, Sarah noticed Jilena taking another napkin and rubbing Noah's lips.

"Noah," Jilena shook her head, "What am I going to do with you?"

Noah grabbed her wrist as Jilena raised her hand to rub her lips again. He looked straight into his eyes. "I love you, Jilena," he whispered.

Stunned, no words came out of his mouth. Then, she remembered her older sister had—approached. Sarah! Pekik.

Jilena raised her gaze and scanned the place to look for her sister, hoping she—dn't hear what Noah said. He caught Sarah's back rushing towards the door. Apparently true to what he saw, it was his older sister.
