As soon as the taxi arrived, Noah got up and sat in the backseat. He stared out the window at Jilena and Jonathan standing by the roadside as the car moved away, one side of his face bruised and swollen.
"You want to tell me what's going on?" Jonathan asked.
Jilena is not sure if Jonathan asked about the bloody napkin she slipped into her bag or asked about what happened between Jilena and Noah. She chooses to assume her intention is her ex-lover Noah.
“Serbet?”
"Yes. Why did you put it in your bag? ”
"I need to get Noah's DNA." He turned around and walked quickly towards Jonathan's car.
Jonathan followed closely behind him. "Wait."
He slowed down and he grabbed his arm to stop him. “It's not a sterile way to do it. You can't get a DNA sample that way, ” he said. “In addition, you are not law enforcement, why do you want to get her DNA?”
"I know it's not sterile." Jilena pulled his arm. “But the napkin was not exposed to anything that could contaminate it as well. ” replied Jilena.
"Your hand." He raised an eyebrow at her. “If it is indeed important, it needs to be handled carefully, you should wear latex gloves and put in a proof bag and tagged. If it's important to the case, now it's pointless. ”
"That's still useful" Jennysa argued. "I collected it so .." he stopped when he remembered his promise to Detective Hero. He couldn't tell Jonathan.
Detective Wira knows about the comb and the hair, and Jilena hopes to help him to identify the DNA. He dropped his eyes. "I can't tell you."
"What do you mean you can't tell me? I'm a cop.” said Jonathan ketus.
"I know, and will soon be a detective" Jilena said. ‘Pak Wira must get this blood and can immediately do a DNA test, he murmured in the liver.
“That's true, so if you know something about a murder case, you need to—tell."
“You'll start your training with Detective Hero tomorrow, won't you?" asked Jilena while gnashing her forehead.
"It's so thick."
"I'll tell you tomorrow then, even if I can" Jilena said with a smile.
"If you could? Your words don't make any sense. ”
Jilena looked into his eyes. "You just have to trust me, Jonathan.” He walked towards the car, and with his long strides, Jonathan quickly chased after him.
"You're killing me here, Jilena." He opened the car door for her.
“I'll tell you. Let me call and see what I can do.”
“What can you do?” His brows furrowed as an expression of confusion.
"Why do you keep repeating my words?" He pulled out his phone and pressed the numbers.
“This is Detective Wira. What do you need, Jilena?”
He looked next to her at Jonathan, who was watching her closely, clearly wondering who Jilena was contacting. “I think I have something you can match with the DNA of that combed hair. Where are you now?"
"I'm at home. Meet me at the police station in fifteen minutes.”
"I took Jonathan with me," his focus remained on the man, "but I—" had not told him anything yet. What do you want me to do?”
“Don't say a word, but you can take it. I'll explain it to Jonathan."
"understand."
"So what happened? Who called?” Jonathan asked. "I don't like being in the dark, like fumbling around me," Jonathan said, staring intently at Jilena.
"I can't reveal my source." Jilena put down her phone. “Come go to
Police post. I need to meet someone there.”
"Is that your mysterious friend on the phone who told you to go there?" Jonathan asked in a flat tone, he did not like Jilena's attitude as if she was hiding something from him.
Jonathan started his car engine and moved away from the sidewalk. “Nona, you really frustrate me.”
Detective Wira was already in the lobby near the reception desk when they arrived.
"Hello, Hero," said Jilena.
"That's Detekti—" She combed her white hair with a finger. “Oh, forget it," he said with a wave of his hand. “Jonathan, why don't we go back to the office?"
They followed him and sat around his desk. Carefully Jilena took out a bundle of paper napkins from inside her bag. He handed it to the hero. “Serbet it's got Noah Arsyanendra's blood in it. I'm hoping you can use it to see if it matches any other evidence, you understand, don't you?"
Hero nodded.
Jonathan frowned and tilted his head. “I'll start my training with you tomorrow, Detective, so I hope you'll tell me about whatever this is, "he said, pointing towards the napkin.
"Miss Jilena, would you excuse me for a moment?" ask Wira.
"Sure, I'll wait outside."
When the door was tightly shut, Jilena thought Wira would explain to—Jonathan what the forensic team had found, namely a plastic comb and hair. Jilena leaned her ears against the door and listened to their conversation.
“Why do you share it with a civilian, Sir, if you don't mind my question?” said Jonathan.
“He really wants to help, and I think he can access people and things we can't do.” replied the hero detective.
"So you used him?"
“She offers herself.” replied Wira. “When you've become a detective then you also do this like me too, son, just say sometimes you have to find a creative way to solve a case."
“Creative, yes?” Jonathan stop. “So you think the hair on the comb is—Noah?"
“That's a possibility, early to start continuing the investigation. This murder case has been so long that we don't have many leads. We have to start with our best guess first.”
"What about Mariana's boyfriend?"
"We're still looking for him."
"Trs. Arsyanendra would be furious if he knew you were investigating his son. ”
Isn't that the truth.
“That's why Jilena and I wanted to get something to test his DNA to see if there's a match—this is just our secret, you understand?”
"But I hope you didn't involve him."
"Why not?" ask Wira.
Yeah why not? After all, Jilena has been involved since the beginning in the investigation of the murder case.
“They once had a history together,” Jonathan said.
"I understand. You think it's gonna be a problem. ”
"I hope not."
...*...
Jonathan drove Jilena home. He walked her to the front door and stopped when he opened it.
“You're in?” Jilena.
“It's best not. I have to pick up Vino from my parents' house. I don't want to trouble them.” He leaned his back against the door. “I have a wonderful time with you.”
"You mean till Noah comes" said Jilena. Actually, he really enjoyed being with Jonathan, but somehow Noah always showed up wherever they were.
