Secrets of Lakefront House
CHAPTERS 70. FORGIVING

"I'm glad to see you're out of jail" Jilena said.

"I heard the news about you trying so hard to help me and I have to thank you for it" Noah said, staring at Jilena.

“Yah. How do you know I'm here?” ask Jilena wonder. He didn't invite Noah.

“I was driving through this area and I accidentally saw your car parked out front. It's a little hard to miss a little thing like that.” He smiled and his intense eyes stared into the net of Jilena's eyes.

"Do you want to come in?" Jilena asks Noah if he wants to join.

"No." Noah looked inside the house. “I can see your appointment is having a party, I don't want to bother you with my arrival. I just want to thank you for not giving up on me, because you keep pushing the police to handle this case.”

"I just want to get to the truth, Noah. The evidence is not strong enough to prove that you are the culprit. It's not good if you have to be in jail for something you've never done."

That was the only reason he could give Noah. Jilena could not tell Noah that she wished wholeheartedly that the father of her son was not a murderer, or that every time she saw him, her heart was pounding over his sanity, she said, or another reason that Jilena will forever connect with Noah is because of their son, whether he likes her or not.

“You know, when papa was locked up, he let me take charge of his company. Who could have thought?"

“I can see it will definitely happen.” Jilena.

“I hope I can prove to him that I am capable of taking control of Arsyanendra's power one day.”

“Oh, I never doubted it, Noah.” Actually, Jilena does have her doubts, but Noah seems to need a boost and what's wrong with giving her a little support?

“I mean what I want to say. I never stop loving you Jilena.” Noah took Jilena's hand. "I really hope that one day you can see that I am worthy of you, Jilena. I will always love you.”

"Noah, please don't say that." Jilena pulled her hand.

“I've changed, Jilena. I know now that I've made a terrible mistake letting you out of my life." Noah said with foggy eyes, he regretted everything that happened in the past. Now he realizes that only Jilena Wanuta he loves.

"Mu-just me?" ask Jilena.

"And our son." replied Noah looking at Jilena with a gentle look.

"I can't do this, Noah." Jilena desperately wanted to close the door, she wanted Noah to leave. Noah must have seen it in his eyes.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. I just wanted to thank you and.well. Do you think you can forgive me for what I did to you?” noah pleaded.

Forgive her? For years I have suffered the pain and heartache that it caused? Jilena wants— freed from her—but can it be that easy? Could it be that simple to decide to forgive and then tell Noah? A voice behind Jilena caught Noah's attention and he glanced over the girl's shoulder. Jonathan takes the little Vino back to the pool. His gaze floated towards them, and to the others who were laughing and chatting and playing around in the water. Jilena is now part of a good family. He didn't want to lose everything he's got now. It's time to forget everything that happened in the past and start a new life with the people he loves.

It seems he was given a second chance. That realization brought a sudden warmth to his heart and it caused something hard inside him to melt. "Jilena?" Noah waited for his answer. Jilena looked back at her old boyfriend and gave him a charming smile. "Yes, Noah, I forgive you.”

Noah smiled faintly "Thank you, Jilena. May you open your heart again for me. To our son and I promise if you want then we'll find our son and bring him back" Noah said.

"I'm sorry Noah. I have to go back inside, I'm tired and right now I don't want to think about anything that's hurting me. I've forgiven you and I think that's enough." Jilena closed the door and rejoined the others.

Noah was still standing at the door, took a deep breath and left the house. In his car Noah looks grim and chaotic. "I know if you're so hurt but why don't you give me another chance Jilena, is that as hateful as you are to me? I promise I'll find our son and bring him back."

"Jil! Are you all right?" jonathan asked around his hands on Jilena's waist.

"Yes, I'm fine. Where's Vino?"

"It's swimming, are you ready to throw it in the pool?" jonathan said winking seductively at Jilena.

"I have to put on my bikini first."

"Don't tease me, Jilena. I don't want you to wear a bikini! Only I can see your body."

"Hmmm...since when have you been this possessive, Jo?"

"Since I fell in love with you." Jonathan drew his face closer and kissed Jilena's lips. It was fortunate that they were sitting in a dimly lit corner away from the rest. Jonathan's kiss was more and more excited to be greeted by Jilena. The two drift in passion which makes them forget their existence.

"Will you stay at home tomorrow? Vino would be very happy. He always asks you, Jil."

"I miss Vino too. Tomorrow I'll come to your house but I won't cook ya, I can't cook."

"It's okay. I can cook dinner tomorrow for us. What are you going to eat tomorrow?"

Oh, my God, why is Jonathan so sweet? He's very nice and handsome.

"Whatever, what do you want to cook. I'll eat everything the same Vino."

"All right, sweetheart. I'll make a surprise for you tomorrow."

The night was getting late and one by one the guests went home. Jilena was in Jonathan's car driving her home. Vino fell asleep in the back seat because he was tired of swimming. Suddenly a heavy rain came down accompanied by lightning that struck.

"Damn! I forgot that the weather forecast said it was going to rain today." Jonathan grumbled. Arriving at Jilena's house, the girl asked Jonathan to stay overnight because the rain was getting heavier and it was not safe to drive in such bad weather.

Vino was laid in the room next to Jilena's. "Thank you Jil."

"Ehmmm..do not say thank you!" ujsr Jilena's. Both of them sat on the bed in Jilena's room.

"Jil, may I know what Noah told you?"

"He came to apologize for the past and thank me for my help."

"Have you forgiven him?" ask Jonathan.

"Yes, I forgive him so that I can be at ease to live my future, nothing more!"

"really so. Forgiveness is the best way to forget the past mssa."

THE END
