ep 54 - Teach Me Islam
Sheet by sheet Morgan had read until he found the last chapter to be titled “4 Terms and Conditions of Being Mu’alaf”. Morgan took a breath and continued reading. In the contents of the last chapter it contains the first one already in circumcision, the second one reads the two sentences of the creed, the big bath and the last one carries out the pillars of Islam.
After that Morgan took his cell phone in his room and he tried to contact me.
Cring.. Cring…
Raisa : “Hallo, Assalamallaikum..”.
Morgan: “Waalaikumsalam,”
Raisa : “What's up, Gan?”
Morgan: “I have to meet you!”
Raisa: “What's Why?”
Morgan: “I'm waiting at the usual place!”
I haven't had time to reply to Morgan's words, Morgan hung up first.
“What's up Morgan meeting?” I said I was cooking fish in the kitchen.
After I finished cooking I immediately rushed to see Morgan because I was too curious about what Morgan would talk about.
Ten minutes later I reached my rendezvous with Morgan. There Morgan was already in that place first I went straight to him.
“Assalamallaikum..” I say hello and then sit on the chair face to face with Morgan.

“What did Gan find me?”
“I decided to be mu’alaf!”
reply Morgan while patting me sharply.
“Today I read this book and studied it,” while thrusting the book to me.
“What book is this?” I asked while twitching my forehead and opening sheet by sheet of the book.
“You sure?”
“From the book I opened the door of my heart to become a convert. I want you to teach me more about Islam!”
“But ,Gan!” my reply. I haven't had time to connect my conversation Morgan directly connected the conversation.
“In this book I read about changing beliefs from non-Muslim to muslim called converts. When deciding to convert, there are several conditions that must be met the first is already in circumcision, the second reads two sentences of shahadah, a big bath and the last one carries out the pillars of Islam.” Morgan told me about the book he read.
“But you are sure of this decision from the heart? After you make a decision there will be many challenges for you, the first you must be faced with many pros and cons, the second you have to ask permission with your parents and much more you have to pass!”
“Right now I want you’alaf not because of my love for you, but this is real from the heart.” Reply Morgan with confidence.
I heard Morgan wants you’alaf from the heart of course very happy. Morgan wanted me to teach him about Islam. If I can help him I will try hard to teach him, but if I cannot teach him because I am not yet fully good at religion, but I will help him until he is at the last point.
“Tar first! Mending us order food first!”
“OK, Mbak!” Morgan waved his hand calling the waiter.
“Iya Mas, this is the menu!” said the waiter while thrusting the menu at Morgan.
“I order rice and chicken, Ma'am!” morgan said to the waiter.
“If Mbaknya?” ask the waiter.
“Take it, Ma'am!” I'm going to pay the waiter back.
“OK I continued yes khitan is an obligation because it is included in the fitrah that must be maintained. As the word of the Prophet SAW,
الْفِطْرَةُ خَمْسٌ – أَوْ خَمْسٌ مِنَ الْفِطْرَةِ – الْخِتَانُ وَالاِسْتِحْدَادُ وَتَقْلِيمُ الأَظْفَارِ وَنَتْفُ الإِبْطِ وَقَصُّ الشَّارِب
There are five things: circumcision, shaving hair *******, cutting nails, plucking underarm hair, and shaving mustache (H.R Muslim 257).”
“OK continue where should I do circumcision?” ask Morgan.
“Let's find your Muslim friend to help you! I don't know,” reply me.
“Oke hold the creed was what” asked Morgan.
“Reading the two sentences of the creed is the gate of someone who wants to be a mu'alaf. As for the creed that must be read when someone wants to become a Muslim is,
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إلَهَ إلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ
I testify that there is no god but Allah. And (i testify) that Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
“OK,” Morgan is still paying attention to what I said.
“Well if this one you can ask for help to the scholars to help you say the creed and witness that you become mu’alaf!”
“OK, then the third big shower?”
“OK if this one you have to clean yourself because a big bath becomes a thing that must be done by a person who converts to Islam. As hadith, as,
أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُرِيدُ الْإِسْلَامَ فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَغْتَسِلَ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ
I went to Nabi Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam to convert to Islam. Then he told me to take a bath with water and bidara leaves. (CHR. Abu Daud 355 – shahih.”
“OK and the last of these?” Morgan points to the last part of the number. Morgan is getting excited.
“If the latter one of the obligations of Muslims is to carry out everything that is in the pillars of Islam, as well as mu'alaf. The pillars of Islam include, reading two sentences of shahada, prayer, fasting, zakat, and hajj.
“Thank you yes, you are perfect for me!” Morgan was fond of me but I took it easy to let go.
“Astagfirullahaladzim, we are not muhrim don't hug!”
“Sorry!” Morgan was wrong and felt guilty.
