"Boss, today's schedule to the City Elementary School for our product exhibition and the awarding of prizes to the winners of the competition held by the company." Said Joe while in Kevin's apartment while putting coffee orders his boss.
Kevin turned to look at Joe with a lethargic face.
"Why you?" Ask Joe in surprise.
"It's okay. Maybe because I came home a little late last night." Kevin's mouth while massaging his temple.
Joe still looked at his boss and best friend with worry.
"Oh, so today my agenda is to go to the city's elementary school." Kevin repeated Joe's words.
"Yes." Yeah." Joe nodded.
Kevin sips his coffee while reading the news from his gadget. Actually his mind was fixed on the conversation Marry and Terence had on that night. I don't know why he got curious about Marry.
Kevin sighed deeply, and kept daydreaming. His thoughts were always on Alice and Marry. It was always spinning in his brain. And his 25th birthday.
Suddenly he just remembered, if that's where Alice went to school. His face turned bright.
Kevin finished his coffee and tidied the tie, pecking himself in front of the mirror, as if he was going out on a date.
Joe frowned at the sudden change in attitude from his boss.
"Is it because he consumes too much caffeine, so is it?" Joe muttered while shaking his head.
Kevin put on his suit neatly, then walked over to Joe.
"Let's go!" Said it cheerfully.
Joe simply nodded in accordance, then followed his superior towards his private garage.
Kevin and Joe have arrived at school. There some of Kevin's employees have been on guard and set up stands for product exhibitions from their companies at the school.
The employees nodded respectfully as they looked at Kevin.
Kevin's arrival was warmly welcomed by the teachers and principals. The one who was actually the most happy was Joe, because he was able to meet Olivia.
At that time Alice who became the winner of the event in the technology exhibition at the school.
Kevin continued to look around, hoping to see Marry there to accompany Alice. However, he finally had to settle for meeting Alice who was accompanied by his aunt with a baby in her carrier.
Alice ran to get close to Kevin, but her aunt kept Alice close to him.
Sophie nodded with a smile looking at Kevin, and Kevin replied with a smile.
That day was a technology fair from Kevin's company to the school school. After making a speech, Kevin gave a bonus for all participants who participated in the race at his company yesterday. Including Alice who gets an additional bonus in the form of cash with a large nominal.
Sophie stood by Alice as she received a symbolic gift. Because the prize is a check. Alice smiled happily and showed it to her friend, then turned to look at Hank with a mocking smile. Hank glared at Alice.
As the students are watching a tech show in the hall room with the company team, Kevin approaches Sophie who is sitting waiting on a bench in the school park.
"Is there time?" Greet Kevin.
Sophie was surprised and only replied with a nod of her head.
Kevin sat next to her.
"Thank you for the addition of this enormous gift." Sophie.
Then both are equally silent.
"You're the one who accompanied Alice?" Kevin said in a questioning voice.
Sophie started to understand, Kevin was looking for Marry. He smiled and looked at Kevin.
"Marry is at work. Earlier this morning Mrs Ruth called, if there was any sudden work. So, I'm accompanying Alice today." Sophie Sahut.
"How do you do, I mean, you still work at that clinic?" Ask Kevin awkwardly.
"still. I still work at the clinic. It just so happens that today I'm off, because last Saturday worked." Sophie Sahut.
Kevin turned to the baby in the arms of Sophie who was fast asleep. Then he remembered Alice as a baby, and Marry, who was very young at the time.
"Did Mary ever tell you, Alice's father?" Ask Kevin. That's what he wanted to ask Sophie.
Sophie shook weakly.
"Never. Marry never told her who impregnated her. He said, it was a gift from God. And he didn't want to kill her." Sophie lirih.
There was pain from Sophie's answer. As if to say that Marry was devastated then.
"Did Marry want to abort her fetus first?" Kevin asked me.
Sophie took a deep breath for a moment.
"I don't know if my sister was pregnant at the time. He always hid that long, until after the state exam. She told me she was pregnant. Marry had wanted to abort her womb, but her heart said no. During that time, Marry had only a few close friends. Terence, Claire, Justin, Helen. And only Justin's close male friend I know." Sophie sighed for a moment.
"Evening prom night at school, I just accompanied him peeking at his friend's coming to the school hall. Then left Justin waiting all night. After that, Marry never wanted to see Justin again. And start to get away from all his friends. Later that night, Marry slipped out of the bathroom, and shed a lot of blood. I ran to Nana and William's house, and they helped Marry deliver. Alice, who was born prematurely, survived. Even though he had to get intensive care for a few days in the hospital, but with the help of William and Nana, we were finally able to get through it all." Sophie smiled as she looked at Kevin, after telling him about Alice's birth.
"Then Marry didn't go to college?"
"That was Mary's greatest sacrifice so far. She must bury her ideals to become a doctor to choose to babysit Alice. The medical scholarship he forgot, and chose to be with his daughter. Marry didn't want her son to be raised by social services, like I was when I lost my parents. Marry and I have been separated for two years since my mother died. You know, Marry is a hard worker. He kept it all in himself and never complained all this time. That was, he was very shocked, sad, and disappointed when he heard Alice go to your place at that time. Especially considering you his father." Answer Sophie.
"Why does he have a picture of me and Marry?" Search Kevin curious.
Sophie fell silent as she frowned trying to remember what the photo was.
"Oh, yeah! That photo." Sophie exclaimed as she looked at Kevin.
Kevin is still waiting for Sophie's answer.
"Justin idolizes you very much." Sophie.
Kevin raised his eyebrows, with a look of astonishment.
"At that time there were workers in your family's villa near the beach. Your birthday party, if not wrong. Marry worked as a waitress there with Helen, his friend. It just so happened that I was no longer under the supervision of the social services, and could live alone, and I chose to stay with my brother in our house. My brother is very happy. She said Terence promised to introduce you to her, and gave Marry your photo and signature. Marry wanted to take a picture of you and ask for your autograph directly at that time for Justin." Sophie.
Kevin just fell silent, trying to remember everything that happened at the party that night.
Both of them were silent, laughing, deep in each other's thoughts.
Soon the door of the hall opened and Alice ran over to Kevin and his aunt.
Alice hugged Kevin. And again the warm feeling appeared again. Somehow Kevin felt, if he had an inner bond with this little girl.
