Take Alice, meet Justin

That afternoon Kevin picked up Alice as usual. Today there is a weekly student report book that must be signed by a parent or guardian.

Kevin heads to class to sign the book and gets a report of Alice's progress a week ago.

Alice is currently on a class acceleration program, so Kevin meets Olivia, Alice's own class teacher.

Kevin was bearded when Olivia reported Alice's activities.

"So, now you're Alice's second guardian, Mr Mars?" Ask Olivia after Kevin signs the book.

"Yes. And maybe we meet more often." Kevin said with a meaningful smile.

Kevin realized, maybe Joe has told a lot about himself and Alice to Olivia, as Joe tells his relationship with Olivia to Kevin.

Olivia smile.

"Thank you, once again for the time." Say Olivia politely.

Kevin shook Olivia's hand, then walked out of the classroom.

Alice who was in the acceleration class, was still about thirty minutes away. So Kevin decided to wait in the car while checking his phone, and replied to some emails regarding work.

Olivia was still pensively staring at Kevin's back which was getting further away in the school corridor.

It's the first time he's seen Kevin's face, Joe's boss.

Kevin has a beautiful face, firm and calm. If noticed really, Alice shows a resemblance to Kevin, especially in the eyes.

Olivia only smiled faintly as she recalled the resemblance of Alice and Kevin's faces.

Joe had a lot to say about Kevin when he found out about Mary and Alice.

At first Olivia was a little jealous, because Joe had made love to her, but the question was Marry and Alice.

After sitting behind the wheel, Kevin read the results of Alice's weekly report for a moment. He was stunned as he read Alice's birth date.

11 February.

And it's February now. So this month he's on his birthday. Then he remembered his birthday. After counting the months. Apparently not even nine months of gestational age Marry. Kevin was confused. But he recalled, the DNA test results stated that Alice was 99.99% of his offspring.

"So, Alice was born faster? She premature? Then how did Marry go about it?" Muttered Kevin.

She remembered Emily's story.

"William helped deliver Mary, at her home. Sophie frantically knocks on the door of Nana's house, asking for help, as Marry is in pain and bleeding. Then when Nana and William arrived, it turned out that Mary had ruptured her membranes, ready to give birth to her fetus. How surprised Nana and William because all this time they did not know, if Marry was pregnant. Because Marry always wears oversize clothes." Emily's story at the time.

Kevin closed his eyes for a moment, imagining the events of Mary giving birth. He must have suffered a lot and been in pain.

Kevin's chest was tight and sad. There's a sense of regret that maybe Marry can't forgive him.

Kevin sighed, then thought of some plans ahead to give Alice a surprise party.

Kevin waited for a moment in the car, before Alice came knocking on the windshield.

Kevin awakens from his daydream, and opens the door to his car.

"Sorry long wait!" Alice said as she sat on the front bench next to Kevin.

"No problem. I'm taking a little rest here too." Kevin stroked Alice's hair gently.

"How's my report?"

"As usual as possible. The result is good, satisfying. For academic fields all grades are good and graduate. In the social good, no problem."

"That's unusual!" Knock Alice.

Kevin turned towards Alice while frowning.

"There's usually a report of me fighting someone." Alice cried while grinning.

Kevin laughed at Alice's confession.

"No problem. I was like that at your age too. If there is someone who bothers me, I will fight directly. No matter what the wound or ending with a bruised face or a box of clothes." Kevin chuckled.

Alice looked at Kevin in admiration.

"Really?" Ask.

"Yes." Yeah." Kevin nodded.

"Usually the one who's going to be troubled is Emily, because she's my upperclassman. He will often be called to my behavior. Even if it is bad. My mom or dad were called to the headmaster. And it's not uncommon for me to get into a special class of troubled kids on summer vacation, as punishment." Kevin's story recalls his old school days.

Alice looked at Kevin in disbelief.

"Sttts.... Please don't copy. And don't tell this to your mama. I don't want him to think I taught you this." Connect Kevin while bringing his face closer to Alice while gesturing the forefinger on her lips.

Alice nodded with a smile.

"Promise!" Alice knelt her pinky finger at Kevin's pinky.

They both laughed then, and Kevin drove his car out of school.

"I want to go to Aunt Sophie's house, Pa. Because Mama always comes home late in the afternoon, if waiting at the store. I want to play with Liam, and help take care of the plants in Nana's yard." Pinta Alice turned to Kevin.

"OKAY. Alright. I'll take you there."

Kevin heads over to Sophie's house, and stops right in front of the house.

Sophie welcomed the arrival of the two happily.

Sophie offers Kevin to stop by, however, Kevin refuses and reasoned that there was work to be done.

Sophie thanked him, then guided Alice into the house.

Kevin passed, heading for his car. Right about to open the car door, Kevin's tail eyes seemed to look at someone was watching his movements. Kevin glanced at the figure who was in a car opposite him.

Kevin stared intently at the figure, which turned out to be Justin who was watching Kevin earlier.

Justin was about to go to his parents' house, saw a car stop in front of Sophie's house. Justin stopped and continued to pay attention, starting from Kevin down and opening the door for Alice. Sophie graciously welcomed her arrival. Until Kevin says goodbye. And now they look at each other.

Justin's eyes looked angry and disliked Kevin.

Kevin looked back at Justin calmly. Then he got into the car, and it passed, but slowly.

From the rearview mirror, Kevin keeps an eye on Justin's car, which also begins to move away from Sophie's residence.

After Justin's car disappears from view, Kevin immediately drives the car.
